pipe, which is somewhat different from the broken pipe message.
Interestingly, I've also seen the broken pipe message in an older 13.10
system, which brought up the graphical interface but froze after a

I'm closing this bug as Fix Released since it was reportedly fixed by
the version of grub2 in Trusty.

If I drop the timeout bit from $ADT_CMD, it works fine as well. When
prepending the timeout call in boottest.sh with strace -vvtts1024 -o
/tmp/tr, I get

I had installed the package nvidia-331 and after some updates (may have
included a kernel update but i'm unsure) the graphical interface
wouldn't start. I got automatically pushed to tty1 and logged in there.
I tried sudo apt-cache search nvidia and saw that there was both

of our install testing.
The ibmvfc is currently built as a module on ppc64el, so the quick fix
is to add the ibmvfc.ko the the installer initrd(s). If you'd like to
change it to a builtin, that's even better, since the
Closing bug as Invalid since it's reportedly caused by a specific BIOS
configuration.

Can you boot back into the prior kernel can see if the I/O errors go
away? It would be good to confirm this only happens with the mainline
kernel.
