[Bug 1169243]

2015-01-30 Thread Me-ngeefk4xayt3t4u9watah405ve
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

The Nepomuk project is no longer included in the KDE Software
Compilation. With Plasma 5, we have replaced most of the underlying
technology with Baloo and other components. Hopefully this will have
addressed your concern.

We encourage you to try out Plasma 5 (+Baloo) and let us know if your
problem persists.

[Bug 1409274] Re: Ubuntu Mate installer crashes during instalation

2015-01-30 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
There are messages in syslog:
Jan 10 13:47:51 ubuntu ntfsresize: NTFS is inconsistent. Run chkdsk /f on
Windows then reboot it TWICE!
Jan 10 13:47:51 ubuntu ntfsresize: The usage of the /f parameter is very
IMPORTANT! No modification was
Jan 10 13:47:51 ubuntu ntfsresize: and will be made to NTFS by this software
until it gets repaired.

I would suggest first trying to get back into Windows (assuming this
would be a dual-boot install), following the steps listed above, before
trying the installation again.

If on the other hand the error you are getting does not appear to happen
at the partitioning step; please add a screenshot of the error, crash,
or any other information you feel would be relevant to how things are
failing in the installer.

Thanks!

[Bug 1415651] [NEW] Serious problem with /lib/lsb/init-dunctions.d/01-upstart-lsb

2015-01-30 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu server 14.10 with xfce4 desktop

Any attempt to halt samba with either service samba stop or
/etc/init.d/samba stop fails with the following message:

stop: Unknown instance:

Examining /etc/init.d/samba shows that stop issues:

stop)
/etc/init.d/samba-ad-dc stop
/etc/init.d/smbd stop
/etc/init.d/nmbd stop

Running /etc/init.d/smbd stop and /etc/init.d/nmbd stop
manually work properly.

Running /etc/init.d/samba-ad-dc stop produces the error message above
and no processes are haulted. However, I did notice that if I move into
the /etc/init.d directory and issue either samba-ad-dc stop or
./samba-ad-dc stop then the script works and the samba process is
indeed haulted.

I added set -x to the stop of the samba-ad-dc script and observed the
following:

# samba-ad-dc stop
+ PIDDIR=/var/run/samba
+ SAMBAPID=/var/run/samba/samba.pid
+ unset TMPDIR
+ test -x /usr/sbin/samba -a -r /etc/samba/smb.conf
+ . /lib/lsb/init-functions
+ run-parts --lsbsysinit --list /lib/lsb/init-functions.d
+ [ -r /lib/lsb/init-functions.d/01-upstart-lsb ]
+ . /lib/lsb/init-functions.d/01-upstart-lsb
+ unset UPSTART_SESSION
+ _RC_SCRIPT=samba-ad-dc
+ [ -r /etc/init/samba-ad-dc.conf ]
+ which initctl
+ initctl version
+ grep -q upstart
+ exit 0

I restarted samba and then tried the following:

#/etc/init.d/samba-ad-dc stop
+ PIDDIR=/var/run/samba
+ SAMBAPID=/var/run/samba/samba.pid
+ unset TMPDIR
+ test -x /usr/sbin/samba -a -r /etc/samba/smb.conf
+ . /lib/lsb/init-functions
+ run-parts --lsbsysinit --list /lib/lsb/init-functions.d
+ [ -r /lib/lsb/init-functions.d/01-upstart-lsb ]
+ . /lib/lsb/init-functions.d/01-upstart-lsb
+ unset UPSTART_SESSION
+ _RC_SCRIPT=/etc/init.d/samba-ad-dc
+ [ -r /etc/init//etc/init.d/samba-ad-dc.conf ]
+ _UPSTART_JOB=samba-ad-dc
+ [ -r /etc/init/samba-ad-dc.conf ]
+ which initctl
+ initctl version
+ grep -q upstart
+ initctl status samba-ad-dc
+ exec stop samba-ad-dc
stop: Unknown instance:

Note that the functions in /lib/lsb/init-functions are loaded and then
/lib/lsb/init-functions.d/01-upstart-lsb is run. Check out the next
couple of lines. When the fully qualified path /etc/init/samba-ad-dc is
used, this function fails to first properly strip it to its basename
before readding the etc/init/ path component. This causes the
subsequent line:

if [ -r /etc/init/${_RC_SCRIPT}.conf ] which initctl /dev/null \
initctl version 2/dev/null | grep -q upstart

to fail. The unknown instance message must be issued from
/sbin/initctl.

More investigation needs to be done. I will report any additional
information I discover. I see a lot of different bug reports related to
this stop: Unknown instance: message, and I wonder if they are not all
related.

[Bug 1416238] Re: USB randomly stops working on Kubuntu 12.04

2015-01-30 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.19 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1310489] Re: xorg.conf overwritten by booting system

2015-01-30 Thread John
Hi Alberto on my machine NVIDIA Optimus setup is no working even with
the latest version of ubuntu-drivers-common i.e.:(1:0.2.91.8),
although it does work with older version of this package i.e.
(1:0.2.91.4). I have noticed one difference in the xorg.config file
generated by the new and old versions of gpu-manager. Basically when
using NVIDIA GPU as the main one i.e. prime-select nvidia the old gpu-
manager sets the Driver value for the intel device to modesetting,
but the new gpu-manager sets the Driver value for the intel device
to intel.

As far as I can understand by looking into the X server log setting the
Driver value to intel instead of modesetting prevents the X server
from correctly identifying the screen on my laptop giving a black screen
on boot.

Please see the file attached to this post for a comparison of xorg.conf
files generated by the new and old gpu-managers.

** Attachment added: Comparison of the xorg.conf files generated by the
new(not working) and old(working) gpu-managers

It appears that the In Progress text was the only translation missing.
I will close this bug as well when the In Progress fix lands in RTM.

It seems that the translations for lp:ubuntu-ui-toolkit are not being merged
from launchpad.
eg, the In progress text shown in the progressbar is not translated into
spanish, even when it seems to be translated in launchpad:

[Bug 1416445] [NEW] fonts selector misses fonts

2015-01-30 Thread Andreas E.
Public bug reported:

The fonts section offers to choose fonts for window titles, user
interface, documents. Default window title font in Ubuntu is Ubuntu
bold. However the font selector misses Ubuntu bold although it is
installed.

As a consequence, it is not possible to restore that font via UI if a different
font was temporarily chosen.
As a workaround, one can use dconf-editor to set
org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences.titlebar-font (which somewhat defeats the
purpose of having gnome-tweak-tools).

Also affected, mostly scaling factor goes up to 3, try to change with
gnome-tweak-tool or unity-tweak-tool without any afford.

Ubuntu 14.04, beside Google Chrome no extra PPAs
MSI Adora22 (Intel Core i3 4100M, Intel HD-Grafik 4600)

Here you can find a workaround:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/469515/adjust-text-scaling-factor-for-all-users

But this is no solution at all, there must be a bug somewhere.

[Bug 1081607] Re: Provide translations for the text used in the SDK that will be visible for the user

2015-01-30 Thread Tim Peeters
I did a grep on i18n.tr in UITK components and none of those were found
(except in the examples of the component documentation, where it is
good). So I think this bug can be closed now.

[Bug 1409556] Re: RAID drive not seen by installer

2015-01-30 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
When you say the live OS can see the RAID drive, could you give us a bit
more details? If you could attach a screenshot, that would be best.

Also, please add the output of 'sudo parted -l', this will help seeing
how the drives are being presented to the system, and thus to the
installer.

Thanks!

[Bug 1416172] Re: wifi dropping, no way to keep connection

2015-01-30 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.19 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

not quite complete. I caught this yesterday building a chroot as well;
I'll track it to see if there is anything that still needs to be done

[Bug 1416396] Re: Unknown file system warning messages during dist-upgrade operation

2015-01-30 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1416396/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
