[Bug 1425685] Re: Missing input sanitation in upstart logrotation cronjob
I'm not sure whether this is the right place to write this, but those permission checks look really racy - both the file type test and the file owner UID check. [Bug 1427374] Re: many gtk deprecation discouraged warnings
I certainly didn't see this number of errors when I tested Gramps in Debian unstable (only a couple) - but I am checking now in vivid. Can you tell me roughly which actions you were performing to generate the errors? For the record, can you also paste the output of $gramps -v so we have a record of which version of gtk gramps is seeing? It is unlikely at this stage of the vivid cycle that these can be fixed. But I have heard that Gramps upstream have had issues with the gtk version currently in Debian Ubuntu, and have reported some bugs upstream to gnome that have not yet made it into Debian. The errors are warning that some functions are deprecated, but the functionality is still there. But eventually something should be done. ** Changed in: gramps (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1427374 Title: many gtk deprecation discouraged warnings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gramps/+bug/1427374/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1419267] Re: libjpegturbo.so missing from -dev package
If there should not be a symlink to that file, then the fact that this package cannot be used to develop against turbojpeg should be documented somewhere. [Bug 1427401] [NEW] No new records can be created no matter what settings are used.
Public bug reported: Specifications: OS: Xubuntu 14.04 Desktop: XFCE 4.10 Package: sqlitebrowser v2.0b1 Description of problem: 1.) After using sqlitebrowser to open the camera database contained within a github project called osm-bundler (where the database being opened can be found here): https://github.com/HaiyangXu/osm-bundler/blob/master/osmbundler/cameras/cameras.sqlite 2.) The Browse Data tab is selected and a view of the types of cameras shown in the database is listed. 3.) A camera must be added to this database so the New Record button is selected in order to create a new record. What is expected to happen: A dialogue or window or something should open asking me for the information to be placed in the new record, or a new blank record should be created such that its blank cells could be modified to hold the new data the user wishes to input. What happens instead: A window pops open with an incorrect error message stating the following: Error message begins Error adding record, make sure a table is selected. If the table contain fields declared as NOT NULL please select EDIT-PREFERENCES and adjust the default value for new records to insert an empty string. Error message ends Notes on the above error: Where the above error message occurs even though there is only one table to select and it is selected in the table drop down list located in the upper left area of the programs window, and this error message is also happening regardless of the fact that under the settings EDIT - PREFERENCES the default value for new records has been set to be an empty string. Concise description of the problem: In short, there is no way to stop the error message from happening when attempting to create a new record in the database and as a result no new records can be created. [Bug 1387691] Re: Media Player should not be visible in the app scope and launcher
@saviq I agree with the 2 approaches from comment #14. However neither are really feasible for RTM without doing a sizable amount of work: 1) For the embedded video component - my team would create the component, and move it into ui-extras to start with. We started this a while ago here: https://code.launchpad.net/~renatofilho/mediaplayer-app/share-components/+merge/241599, but this would need to be finished - modify Video scopes to use the component - modify Gallery and Camera to use the component 2) Trusted session support For this to land, there are a couple of blocking issues that need to be sorted on Unity and/or Scopes - fullscreen window support - this is needed because users expect video playback to happen in fullscreen mode as it does today when launching mediaplayer-app via url-dispatcher. - feedback when launching - based on ted's prototype of launching mediaplayer-app as a trusted session, there is quite some delay when launching as a trusted session. Some sort of spinner or splash screen is needed when launching it. Guessing would be better to build this into the framework somehow rather than having each client (i.e. scopes, apps) be responsible for doing it. My suggestion is that we add these tasks to respective backlog and get them scheduled. For the short term, I'd suggest we use OnlyShowIn in the desktop file of mediaplayer-app. This would hide it from the apps scope but still allow it to be launched as it is today from scopes and apps. The only downside is it would still show up in the launcher when running and could be pinned, but I'd say that is still an improvement over what we have today. Question: what value would we set for OnlyShowIn? Thoughts? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1387691 Title: Media Player should not be visible in the app scope and launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1387691/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The solution I found for mine was on this page: (http://askubuntu.com/questions/453252/setup-problems-ubuntu-14-04-wifi- on-macbookpro-13-3-w-retina-dual-boot) and it was the solution posted by username (http://askubuntu.com/users/263895/back-slash) about halfway down the page. [Bug 1427406] [NEW] data corruption on arm64
Public bug reported: I've verified that the following MariaDB issue also impacts MySQL: https://mariadb.atlassian.net/browse/MDEV-6615 [Impact] Data corruption on arm64 (and maybe ppc64el?) [Test Case] Reproducibility varies across SoCs but, at least on one SoC, it reliably fails within seconds with these sysbench commands: sysbench --num-threads=128 --max-requests=0 --max-time=1000 --test=oltp prepare sysbench --num-threads=128 --max-requests=0 --max-time=1000 --test=oltp run On failure, mysql will crash and sysbench will report a connection loss to the database. [Regression Risk] The fix touch some low level locking code, so there is always the risk that it introduces a problem on other platforms. [Bug 1427413] [NEW] Precise update to 3.2.67 stable release

[Bug 1423601] Re: [FFe] ceph 0.93 - hammer release
Proposed changes for vivid: ceph (0.93-0ubuntu1) UNRELEASED; urgency=medium * New upstream release candidate for Hammer stable release (LP: #1423601). - d/*.symbols: Refresh inline with upstream, removing common code symbols which don't form part of the public API. - d/p/*: Refresh and drop patches as required. * Resync with upstream packaging changes and enable new features: - d/control,ceph-common.install,librbd1.install: Move rbdnamer and associated udev rules into ceph-common package. - d/control,python-*: Split out rbd, rados and cephfs bindings into separate python packages, move some bits into ceph/ceph-common. - d/control: Move python-flask dependency to ceph package, only required for REST API. - d/control: Use google-perftools on arm64. - d/rules,control: Enable use of lttng for userspace tracing. Things to note specifically for FFe a) symbols have re-jigged and generally become more sane b) the python bindings have been split into three packages for rbd, rados and cephfs (makes sense). ** Description changed: The is a pre-emptive FFe as I know that ceph 0.93 (which is the first RC for the hammer stable release which should deliver before 15.04) won't be out by the end of today, and we won't want to ship with the interim 0.87 release we currently have in archive. The Ceph blog details the features that have been delivered since 0.87 (http://ceph.com/community/blog/); specifically I think that the features that allow Ceph to make better use of fast storage, as provided by enterprise grade SSD's, are important for this release in addition to the fact that lining up with upstream stable releases has always paid off to-date in terms of getting good support and high quality point releases for Ceph. + + Upstream release notes/changelog: + + + Major features since Giant include: + + * cephfs: journal scavenger repair tool (John Spray) + * crush: new and improved straw2 bucket type (Sage Weil, Christina + Anderson, Xiaoxi Chen) + * doc: improved guidance for CephFS early adopters (John Spray) + * librbd: add per-image object map for improved performance (Jason + Dillaman) + * librbd: copy-on-read (Min Chen, Li Wang, Yunchuan Wen, Cheng Cheng) + * librados: fadvise-style IO hints (Jianpeng Ma) + * mds: many many snapshot-related fixes (Yan, Zheng) + * mon: new 'ceph osd df' command (Mykola Golub) + * mon: new 'ceph pg ls ...' command (Xinxin Shu) + * osd: improved performance for high-performance backends + * osd: improved recovery behavior (Samuel Just) + * osd: improved cache tier behavior with reads (Zhiqiang Wang) + * rgw: S3-compatible bucket versioning support (Yehuda Sadeh) + * rgw: large bucket index sharding (Guang Yang, Yehuda Sadeh) + * RDMA xio messenger support (Matt Benjamin, Vu Pham) + + Upgrading + - + + * No special restrictions when upgrading from firefly or giant + + Notable Changes + --- + + * build: CMake support (Ali Maredia, Casey Bodley, Adam Emerson, Marcus + Watts, Matt Benjamin) + * ceph-disk: do not re-use partition if encryption is required (Loic + Dachary) + * ceph-disk: support LUKS for encrypted partitions (Andrew Bartlett, Loic + Dachary) + * ceph-fuse,libcephfs: add support for O_NOFOLLOW and O_PATH (Greg Farnum) + * ceph-fuse,libcephfs: resend requests before completing cap reconnect + (#10912 Yan, Zheng) + * ceph-fuse: select kernel cache invalidation mechanism based on kernel + version (Greg Farnum) + * ceph-objectstore-tool: improved import (David Zafman) + * ceph-objectstore-tool: misc improvements, fixes (#9870 #9871 David + Zafman) + * ceph: add 'ceph osd df [tree]' command (#10452 Mykola Golub) + * ceph: fix 'ceph tell ...' command validation (#10439 Joao Eduardo Luis) + * ceph: improve 'ceph osd tree' output (Mykola Golub) + * cephfs-journal-tool: add recover_dentries function (#9883 John Spray) + * common: add newline to flushed json output (Sage Weil) + * common: filtering for 'perf dump' (John Spray) + * common: fix Formatter factory breakage (#10547 Loic Dachary) + * common: make json-pretty output prettier (Sage Weil) + * crush: new and improved straw2 bucket type (Sage Weil, Christina + Anderson, Xiaoxi Chen) + * crush: update tries stats for indep rules (#10349 Loic Dachary) + * crush: use larger choose_tries value for erasure code rulesets (#10353 + Loic Dachary) + * debian, rpm: move RBD udev rules to ceph-common (#10864 Ken Dreyer) + * debian: split python-ceph into python-{rbd,rados,cephfs} (Boris Ranto) + * doc: CephFS disaster recovery guidance (John Spray) + * doc: CephFS for early adopters (John Spray) + * doc: fix OpenStack Glance docs (#10478 Sebastien Han) + * doc: misc updates (#9793 #9922 #10204 #10203 Travis Rhoden, Hazem, + Ayari, Florian Coste, Andy Allan, Frank Yu, Baptiste Veuillez-Mainard, + Yuan Zhou, Armando Segnini, Robert Jansen, Tyler Brekke, Viktor Suprun) + * doc: replace

[Bug 1340067] Re: Drop 20_add_alt_screen_toggle_ui.patch - it does nothing with vte3 = 0.34.9
I'm not against fixing it at all, but ... if you take a look around either here among launchpad bugs (both gnome-terminal and vte/vte3) or mainstream bugzilla and git, you'll find quite a few way more important issues, including crash scenarios with known fixes - yet there's no activity and willingness from anyone backporting them to Trusty or Utopic. It's really strange to see discussing the possibility of releasing a fix for one of the least important bugs while ignoring the others. I mean, there's a checkbox that doesn't do anything, and you're worried about this but not the segfaults? C'mon... As long as there are unfixed crashes, putting any amount of work in backporting the removal of a nonfunctional checkbox is IMO precious engineering time not well spent, and yet another update is probably more annoying to the users than useful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1340067 Title: Drop 20_add_alt_screen_toggle_ui.patch - it does nothing with vte3 = 0.34.9 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1340067/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1427372] [NEW] Unity-Desktop - Selection Graphical Issue
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When I Show the Desktop (no other Windows should be open), I can click somewhere and move the pointer still holing the left button down. This creates a rect to slect multiple items on the Desktop. The Issue always happen when I do the followng: 1) Draw the Rect (you must select one item on the desktop at least) 2) Click the Context-Menu-Button on a Keyboard, still holding the left key. 3) Optional: Resize the Rect. 4) Release the left mouse-button and click. Now the Rect is drawn permanantly. Moreover, I can draw more selction-rects using this way. An other issue is that I can not move Items on the Desktop. Opening and Closing other Windows does not cahnge anything. The same problem is also on every Desktop. In the Attachment i included a Video of the issue. [Bug 1427374] Re: many gtk deprecation discouraged warnings
Whoops - our messages crossed in the post! Thanks for reporting, and forwarding upstream. No need to paste gramps -v here, I can see that you did that in the upstream bug. I would like to know the types of things you were doing in gramps as you got these errors though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1427374 Title: many gtk deprecation discouraged warnings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gramps/+bug/1427374/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1407867] Re: There are some incorrect button reminder of Software center when using orca screen reader.
Ok, let me attempt to have a stab at determining just what this bug is about. You're wanting Orca to speak the various toolbar buttons when you move the mouse cursor over them? If so, Orca has a setting that is off by default that speaks whatever is under the mouse. Open Orca preferences with Insert + Spacebar, and in the general tab, under mouse, check the checkbox labeled Speak object under mouse And as I've alredy stated in this bug, those toolbar buttons are all accessible with the keyboard by using tab and shift tab. Or am I missing something? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1407867 Title: There are some incorrect button reminder of Software center when using orca screen reader.
