[Bug 1388612]
After all these days I've been using the latest drivers and stuff offered by xorg-edgers and everything seemed to be running fine, tonight it happened again. It seems that if I visit www.google.com/chrome using the first tab on Chrome, everything is fine. Tonight I needed to download Chrome for another computer and I visited that page at a moment when several other apps and seven other tabs were already open on Chrome, thus creating an eighth tab. That caused an immediate GPU crash and the screen went off again. This has become very annoying. I need to work without these issues guys. :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388612 Title: [GM965] GPU lockup running OpenGL applications on Dell Vostro 1510 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mesa/+bug/1388612/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

(In reply to Janus Troelsen from comment #111) Did you upgrade your kernel Alex? If you did, the GPU should be able to properly reset. The last official kernel released for *ubuntus 14.04 is 3.16 which is no good for this issue. If I recall correctly the one needed is 3.19 and in this case it has to be downloaded from the mainline site and they do not recommend that. You can see the kernel messages about cciss being detected, udev messages about modprobe timing out followed by boot process timeouts and a failure to mount the root filesystem. You can also see hung task messages from the kernel (kworker/0:2 and modprobe are both hung inside cciss), and you can see some of my futile attempts to look around in the initramfs. I can boot an older kernel (2.6.32-73-server, left over from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) just fine. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD). You can verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you downloaded by following the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM. You might also retry your installation with new media. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your installation media please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! [Bug 1434581] Re: Console extremely slow with 3.13 and newer kernels for certified servers with Matrox G200er2 or similar
I tried more kernels this morning, and unfortunately my results weren't so good. All of the v3.12-rc# kernels, v3.11.0 and v3.11.10.15 give me a black screen. The system does boot and function, but I am blind. I'm attaching the dmesg from v3.12.0, v3.12-rc1 and v3.11.0. The last versions of 3.8 (lts-raring) and 3.11 (lts-saucy) in the official repositories perform well, with no issues. [Bug 1432644] [NEW] VM permanently tries to read /dev/shm/lttng-ust-wait-5
You have been subscribed to a public bug: VM permanently tries to read /dev/shm/lttng-ust-wait-5 When used with enforced apparmor profile, this results in logs filled with denied messages. As I understand it, liblttng is here to allow tracing / debugging in python (not sure).
