[Bug 1434521] Re: account-polld does not recognize when messages are cleared
Looking at the recent changes in indicator-messages, I believe this is related either to https://code.launchpad.net/~ted/indicator- messages/lp1385331-unescape-message-ids/+merge/250235 or https://code.launchpad.net/~larsu/indicator- messages/lp1386584/+merge/240773. [Bug 1445829] Re: No video playback possible - side pane empty
Thanks Sam. Strangely enough, today the plugin is also broken for me: I got the same wrong URL as you. I don't know why it worked yesterday for me and not for you. Arte made some changes on the website and it broke the plugin. I proposed a patch upstream and I updated my PPA with new packages version: https://launchpad.net/~malizor/+archive/ubuntu/ppa Here, videos are now playing again. Let me know if it works for you. Regarding your issue to display the video list, this is apparently a network issue. I have no such problem, so perhaps it's only on your side. Is the Arte website also slow for you? You may want to try from another Internet connection. @stephen (stephen-puttick) : I don't think that's needed; it is my understanding from lp:1431753 that this bug is already fully characterized, and fixed for the 340 and 346 drivers in Utopic and Vivid. Furthermore, the fact that the fix appears to be performed at the level of the metadata strongly suggests that it would be absolutely trivial to apply the same fix to the 331 drivers in (un)Trust(worth)y. Canonical might have their reasons for not backporting the fix to their LTS release, but as long as the only noise we get from them is crickets chirping, it is hardly surprising that the community is starting to ask questions about their motives and/or professionalism... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268257 Title: nvidia-331-updates 331.38-0ubuntu3: nvidia-331-updates kernel module failed to build, with only error: objdump: '... .tmp_nv.o': No such file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/1268257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1435328] Re: Leaving Wifi does not connect to mobile carrier data (GSM)
@Alfonso So looking closer at NM 0.9.8, the routing is updated by nm-policy.c in its device_state_changed() function. It calls update_routing_and_dns() in several places, which in turn calls update_ip4_routing(), which in turn calls nm_system_replace_default_ip4_route(). Only the last function returns an error code, so if adding the default route fails, the error doesn't bubble up, and the system is left partially configured. I hacked nm_system_replace_default_ip4_route() to return an error on it's third invocation, then rebooted the system with WiFi disabled. The first call to replace_default_ip4_route() happens when the mobile data connection is established on reboot. Next I activated WiFi and the phone connected to an AP, that's the second route call. Finally I disabled WiFi and this triggers the third route call which fails. At this point we have a connection that NM still thinks is connected, with an empty routing table. Next I deactivated the context manually, and NM turned around and re- established the connection, so I *think* this proves that the scenario you described in comment #26 isn't happening with NM 0.9.8. At this point, as changing the NM logic isn't super straight-forward, I would suggest that we don't attempt to patch NM for utopic-RTM at this point, unless someone else is able to prove for certain that NM can get wedged in a bad state when the routing configuration fails. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1435328 Title: Leaving Wifi does not connect to mobile carrier data (GSM) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1435328/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Henk, that's an old lxsession and afaik there were major changes in 0.5, so I don't think it's related. [Bug 1445219] Re: aa-logprof hangs indefinitely in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
As I expected, one of the log lines is type=AVC msg=audit(1429552705.245:1376430): apparmor=DENIED operation=ptrace profile=/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_denyhosts.pl///bin/ps pid=2855 comm=ps requested_mask=trace denied_mask=trace peer=/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_denyhosts.pl and that (and the backtrace) confirms that you hit the problem that this is a duplicate of bug 1307665, therefore I'm closing it for upstream AppArmor. I'll leave the Ubuntu part open - an update is really needed... For testing with latest upstream code - I assume you still have the tools, libapparmor etc. still installed and additionally downloaded the tarball. (If you uninstalled some packages, please re-install them.) Your error message indicates that that the 2.9.1 tools can't find the python LibAppArmor bindings, so either it's not installed or it's built for a different python version (I'm not using Ubuntu, therefore I don't know version details). [Bug 1446312] Re: On Thinkpad T431s, plugged-in AC adapter not detected
On further testing, this looks like a hardware failure; the timing with the kernel upgrade is probably coincidence. [Bug 1446397] [NEW] Sloppy focus mode no longer gives focus to next window, when one window is closed
Public bug reported: This seems like a regression to me. Under 15.04, I have set focus mode to sloppy, as I have in many previous editions. When there are two windows open, for instance each taking up half the screen, and I close the one over which the mouse is lying, I end up with the focus on the desktop (ie, not in any window) if there's no other window open, or in whatever window is underlying the mouse, if there is one there, even when it is not next in line (ie next highest in the focus or z stack). I think that is mouse mode, not sloppy mode. It used to be the case that when I close a window, the focus will go to the next window on the screen, rather than to whatever the mouse is over. This is the behaviour I still desire. [Bug 1445840] Re: 10ec:8176 10-20% packet loss on 802.11n 2.4GHz network
** Description changed: With a Asus PCE-N10 PCI-E Adapter Wireless N I have 10-20% packet loss on a 802.11n 2.4GHz network, 2-3200ms latency pinging just the gateway 192.168.1.1, with no network load on either the router or the WiFi chipset. The computer is ~4 feet away from a Verizon Jetpack MiFi 5510L, with no obstructions between them. Other clients (Ubuntu with different chipset, Windows) don't have this problem. [Bug 1444057] Re: gdb remote target of a guest VM fails to continue
I measured bootup times on an idle host by rebooting a VM and logging the same event in dmesg 15 times. Before it took an average of 9.8934s w/ stdev of 0.32. After installing the new version it took 9.8159s w/ stdev of 0.34. In addition before the total size of /usr/bin/qemu-system-* was 136878083 after it was 135008515. So it seems that size of binaries decreases, while enabling more functionality. In addition, boot times seem comparable but it isn't definitively slower or faster. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1444057 Title: gdb remote target of a guest VM fails to continue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1444057/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
