[Bug 1455711] Re: pidgin icon does not appear in the System Tray on kde 5
FYI, a suboptimal but effective workaround in the mean time is to install and enable the "pidgin-libnotify" plugin. After doing so, you can close the buddy window and the chat window(s) stay open; the downside is that it's still not in the systray, and if you need to get back to the buddy window, you have to "re-launch" pidgin (which appears to detect the current running instance and switches you to it). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455711 Title: pidgin icon does not appear in the System Tray on kde 5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+bug/1455711/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1456016] [NEW] Xorg nouveau graphics driver freezes or crashes
Public bug reported: I'm not saying xorg is the culprit, I think problem is graphics related thus it happens when I choose Nouveau graphics driver instead of proprietary Nvidia. My GPU is an integrated one and uses shared RAM, this bug is more frequent when hardware settings are "AUTODETECT FRAME BUFFER SIZE=enabled" otherwise when it's set to "FIXED=256MB" it isn't that frequent. The steps to reproduce this bug are not pretty clear, this crash happens at least once a day, appearently when there's too much memory in use. I used to use "Nvidia proprietary driver" with Ubuntu 14.10 with less problems but some crashes correctly managed by system without closing any application but with Ubuntu 15.04 this crashes make all applications get closed, that's why I decided to change to Nouveau but it gets so slow. I'm really considering rollback to Ubuntu 14.10 which caused less problems. When Systems freezes both keyboard and mouse get irresponsive too. I've collected some data through SSH which are attached: "Xorg.0.freezetime.log" is "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" at Freeze moment. "kikedmesg.txt" is "dmsg.txt" at Freeze moment. [Bug 1456004] Re: failsafeXServer kicked in without (a real) reason?
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected third-party-packages vivid ** Description changed: When I came back to my laptop, after some `xset dpms force off`, my window manager (awesomeWM) behaved strange: the modkey (super/windows key) was not recognized anymore - probably just all modifier keys (I still could type into the current window, but not switch). Then I've noticed that there is failsafeXServer on VT2. I've chosen the last option (drop me to a console login), and that killed the gnome-session which ran awesomeWM. I've noticed this on ~02:55. From the logs it seems like the failsafeXServer has been there since the last reboot already? There were no "systemd" messages in the systemd journal for hours - e.g. because X might have crashed or something else would have triggered this. It seems like for some reason the long-running failsafeXServer suddenly captured the input method somehow, and also the redrawing which wasn't happening in awesomeWM anymore. It's a bit frustrating to have the X session being killed like this. Let me know, if I should provide more information from logs etc. For the time being I'll probably uninstall xdiagnose - it's not worth such trouble (for me). ❯❯ systemctl status failsafe-x.service -l ● failsafe-x.service - X.org diagnosis failsafe Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/failsafe-x.service; static; vendor preset: enabled) Active: inactive (dead) since Mo 2015-05-18 02:57:00 CEST; 45min ago Main PID: 5175 (code=killed, signal=TERM) Memory: 16.3M CGroup: /system.slice/failsafe-x.service Mai 16 20:15:14 lenny.thequod.de org.a11y.atspi.Registry[5255]: SpiRegistry daemon is running with well-known name - org.a11y.atspi.Registry Mai 16 20:15:14 lenny.thequod.de failsafeXServer[5175]: Gtk-Message: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. [Bug 1456004] [NEW] failsafeXServer kicked in without (a real) reason?
Public bug reported: When I came back to my laptop, after some `xset dpms force off`, my window manager (awesomeWM) behaved strange: the modkey (super/windows key) was not recognized anymore - probably just all modifier keys (I still could type into the current window, but not switch). [Bug 1455995] [NEW] drush site-install fails for drupal6 on ubuntu 15-04
Public bug reported: The procedure wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dankegel/busydrupal/master/migrate.sh sh migrate.sh deps sh migrate.sh install6 worked fine on Ubuntu 12.04 through 14.10, but as of Ubuntu 15.04, it fails quickly with Starting Drupal installation. This takes a few seconds ... [ok] Table "drupal6.variable" doesn"t exist[warning] query: SELECT value FROM variable WHERE name = "install_task" database.mysql.inc:135 Table "drupal6.variable" doesn"t exist[warning] query: SELECT value FROM variable WHERE name = "install_task" database.mysql.inc:135 The site install task '' failed. [error] It's not doing much more than: + wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-6.35.tar.gz + tar -xf drupal-6.35.tar.gz + cd drupal-6.35 + drush si default ... and it's that last command that fails. Between Ubuntu 14.10 and 15.04, php was updated from 5.5.12+dfsg-2ubuntu4.4 to 5.6.4+dfsg-4ubuntu6 and it's likely that drush and/or drupal6 itself need updating to work with php 5.6. The workaround from https://www.drupal.org/node/2465881, i.e. disable mbstring in php.ini, seems to let site-install succeed. (Probably need to disable it in both files /etc/php5/{apache2,cli}/php.ini.) This is probably not really a bug in drush, but it appears to be one at first glance, so I'm filing this here in case anyone else runs into it. [Bug 1455986] Re: US (international, with dead keys) keyboard layout does not print accented letters: keys are not dead
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1455986/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. I apologize if it reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: bot-comment -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455986 Title: US (international, with dead keys) keyboard layout does not print accented letters: keys are not dead To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1455986/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
