To clarify what I mean, let's say that yesterday I logged into my account on this machine at 14:29, and then sometime near 23:00 I logged out, and then this morning I logged into my account somewhere around 11:20, it will show this: - Yesterday, 14:29 Session Started - Today 11:19 Session Ended - Today 11:20 Session Started + Yesterday, 14:29 Session Started + Today 11:19 Session Ended + Today 11:20 Session Started So it assumes that the last session ended when you log into a new one, so the bug seems to be that it does not log when a session ends properly, and only logs it when a new session starts. [Bug 1452421] Re: ubuntu 15.04 overheats
Thanks for the hint. I did that today and after a few minutes of video streaming (www.tagesschau.de) top showed me the now well-known kidle_inject processes but the box held out for a bit over ten minutes, which is more but not significantly more than before. Then it switched off. I booted the 3.16 kernel, reloaded the same video stream (it is available for two hours), and it played the full 15 minutes without any kidle_injects appearing. And without powering off the machine, of course. This time top (under 3.19) never showed me any processes (firefox, plugin-container) going anywhere near 100% of CPU load; everything remained under 50% most of the time, more or less as with the old kernel. And still those kidle_inject processes come up. Could it be a false alarm (despite the very warm air coming from the fan slots)? I know that kidle_inject generates no CPU load, just blocks other processes from taking a CPU. Re: [Bug 1390625] Re: mouse cursor gets corrupted
Yeah it is an annoying bug. I'm staying with Luna until it's fixed. I'm finding it just as stable if not more stable than my windows 7 laptop. Although Freya does have some very cool features I miss a little. On 30 May 2015 18:25, Ryan Lounsbury ryanmlounsb...@gmail.com wrote: I'll add my 2 cents into this discussion as well. First bug I ran into when using elementary OS Freya on my Lenovo X201 w/Integrated Intel Graphics. The cursor gets corrupted whenever I click and drag a file or shortcut somewhere on the desktop. I can click and drag scroll bars, windows, etc... It only ever happens when I click drag a file or short cut. As soon as I drag the cursor gets corrupted and displays two arrows and a small sliver of whatever was open on the screen at that time. Switching to a different work space seems to clear it up as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to a duplicate bug report (1455603). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1390625 Title: mouse cursor gets corrupted Status in elementary OS: Confirmed Status in Mesa: New Status in Unity: Invalid Status in unity package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in xorg-lts-utopic package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: In Ubuntu 14.10, the mouse cursor graphic gets corrupted under certain occasions. [Bug 1460088] Re: Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M
Thank you for the suggestion. I have now updated the BIOS to the latest version 205. Ubuntu no longer boots. It gets stuck on the ubuntu boot screen. With the ubuntu logo and the small dots below it. I am still able to boot Mint and the problem is not fixed in Mint. Let me know if I can do anything else. I will try to explain the problem I had before the BIOS update. If I press the keyboard shortcuts to change the backlight brightness. Nothing happens. If I change the brightness in the power manager GUI by dragging the slider. Changing the brightness works. If I install the official proprietary Nvidia driver. The slider disappears and there are no other way to change the brightness. I don't know if the following information helps to understand the issue but in Windows the hot keys works perfectly. Although in Windows it shows that the display is using the Intel GPU. While Renderer is set to NVIDIA GPU. And so they are both used together with nvidia optimus system. I don't know how it works in linux but I suspect that it picks one of the GPUs resulting in lost functionality. Regardless the hot keys should work even if only the Intel GPU is being used. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1460088 Title: Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1460088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1460088] Re: Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M
ishbalai, as per http://www.asus.com/supportonly/N501JW/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (205). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-205 ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1460088 Title: Backlight control does not work on Asus Zenbook Pro UX501JW / Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1460088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Here is the debug output from using the autokey twice in gedit (the traceback is after the first time, and autokey-gtk was killed after the second time to get input back in all applications): 2015-05-30 00:34:46,019 DEBUG - interface - Grabbing hotkey: [u'shift', u'super'] u'k' 2015-05-30 00:34:46,019 DEBUG - interface - Grabbing hotkey: [u'shift', u'super'] u'k' 2015-05-30 00:34:46,019 DEBUG - interface - Grabbing hotkey: [u'ctrl'] u'f7' 2015-05-30 00:34:53,340 DEBUG - service - Received mouse click - resetting buffer 2015-05-30 00:34:55,201 DEBUG - service - Received mouse click - resetting buffer 2015-05-30 00:34:57,020 DEBUG - service - Raw key: u';', modifiers: [], Key: ; 2015-05-30 00:34:57,020 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:57,020 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:57,020 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [u';'] 2015-05-30 00:34:57,191 DEBUG - service - Raw key: u';', modifiers: [], Key: ; 2015-05-30 00:34:57,191 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:57,191 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:57,191 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [u';', u';'] 2015-05-30 00:34:57,518 DEBUG - service - Raw key: u's', modifiers: [], Key: s 2015-05-30 00:34:57,518 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:57,518 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:57,519 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [u';', u';', u's'] 2015-05-30 00:34:57,684 DEBUG - service - Raw key: u'h', modifiers: [], Key: h 2015-05-30 00:34:57,684 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:57,684 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:57,684 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [u';', u';', u's', u'h'] 2015-05-30 00:34:57,942 DEBUG - service - Raw key: u'r', modifiers: [], Key: r 2015-05-30 00:34:57,942 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:57,942 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:57,942 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [u';', u';', u's', u'h', u'r'] 2015-05-30 00:34:58,062 DEBUG - service - Raw key: u'u', modifiers: [], Key: u 2015-05-30 00:34:58,062 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:58,062 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:58,063 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [u';', u';', u's', u'h', u'r', u'u'] 2015-05-30 00:34:58,279 DEBUG - service - Raw key: u'g', modifiers: [], Key: g 2015-05-30 00:34:58,279 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:58,279 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:58,279 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [u';', u';', u's', u'h', u'r', u'u', u'g'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,826 DEBUG - service - Raw key: 'enter', modifiers: [], Key: enter 2015-05-30 00:34:59,826 DEBUG - service - Window visible title: u'*Untitled Document 1 - gedit', Window class: u'gedit.Gedit' 2015-05-30 00:34:59,826 DEBUG - service - No phrase/script matched hotkey 2015-05-30 00:34:59,827 DEBUG - service - Input stack at end of handle_keypress: [] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,827 DEBUG - service - Ignored locking error in handle_keypress 2015-05-30 00:34:59,827 DEBUG - iomediator - Send via clipboard 2015-05-30 00:34:59,827 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,835 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,836 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,836 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,836 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,852 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,853 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,853 DEBUG - interface - Send special key: ['backspace'] 2015-05-30 00:34:59,864 DEBUG - interface - Sending string: u'\xaf\\(\u30c4)/\xaf' 2015-05-30 00:34:59,870 ERROR - interface - Error in X event loop thread Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/autokey/interface.py, line 116, in

[Bug 1460343] Re: SFML don't work with CMake
This issue was already raised upstream here: https://github.com/SFML/SFML/issues/873 In short, using FindSFML.cmake from 2.2 (or 2.3) will not work when compiling against 2.1. If you use the version of FindSFML.cmake from 2.1 (which is installed in /usr/share/SFML/cmake/Modules) then it should work properly. ** Changed in: libsfml (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1460343 Title: SFML don't work with CMake To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libsfml/+bug/1460343/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
