[Bug 1473622] [NEW] File extension is always AIFF when exporting an audio track in every format

2015-07-11 Thread Enrico
Public bug reported:

I'm using Audacity 2.0.6 on Xubuntu 15.10, but I got the same problem on
other ubuntu versions.

When I want to export an audio track, e.g. in MP3, the file extension in
the Name bar is always AIFF. I have to change it manually. If I cange
the filetype from the menu, the file extension remains AIFF.

This is not an important bug, but the file extension should change when
changing file type.

[Bug 1473606] Re: stress-ng-0.04.10 compile error in ubuntu-14.04

2015-07-11 Thread Colin Ian King
No.

If you consult the man pages on the xattr systcalls we have:

   #include sys/types.h
   #include attr/xattr.h

Instead, you need to install libxattr1-dev, just as the build depends
specifies:

Build-Depends: debhelper (= 9), libattr1-dev

[Bug 1416320] Re: REGRESSION: Packaging of kwallet-kf5 does not contain dbus files

2015-07-11 Thread Sergio Callegari
Sorry. My fault. The issue is actually that kwalletd5 is not installed
at all by default when upgrading to 15.04 from 14.10. That was why I was
missing the service files.

Incidentally... why does the new kde desktop not depend on the wallet
ported to framework 5?

[Bug 1288593] Re: Please include SHA256 or SHA512 hashes on Ubuntu Hashes page

2015-07-11 Thread Jay Hennessey
One thought after reading the discussions here and on ubuntu-doc:
rather than maintaining a duplicate of SHA256SUMS{,.gpg} on the wiki,
would it be possible to link to an ubuntu-maintained version that is
protected by https?

GPG-verifying the SHA256SUMs is great, however a user may not yet
necessarily have a working gpg environment with a web of trust reaching
to the ubuntu signing keys, whereas almost all platforms have an https-
enabled browser and the ability to obtain a sha256sum program. This
would protect against at least some attacks (like inserting a corrupted
iso + SHA256SUMs into an unencrypted http stream).

[Bug 1473643] [NEW] Enable switching to full desktop sites

2015-07-11 Thread zubozrout
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1377033 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377033

Public bug reported:

Hello,
this is more like a feature request. I've just noticed that on desktop Ubuntu
Web Browser is now loading full desktop sites, which is great. I expect it is
just a matter of changing useragents (although there may be more to it). On the
other hand on my tablet it is still showing mobile sites - which you may want
to change from time to time.

I suppose the default behaviour on phones and tablets should be to load
mobile sites as it is now but - could you please add a switcher in the
menu to demand for full desktop version of websites?

In addition it would be great to include a button in the bowser's
settings so that browser would permanently ask for desktop sites if user
wants it. On bigger devices that would certainly be relevant.

(and on the other hand you may want to display a mobile version of any
website on desktop for testing purposes so a vice versa would be great
as well)

What do you think? How do you think it should be implemented?

[Bug 1454950] Re: It needs to press touchpad hotkey twice to re-enable touchpad

2015-07-11 Thread Lars Uebernickel
Thanks, Franz, for investigating this issue.

The mouse module tries to ensure that at least one pointing device is
present at any time. This is reasonable, as some people might have
problems navigating the UI with only a keyboard if they accidentally
disable all pointing devices.

However, the hardware button should still work and allow overriding that
feature. Thus, I've attached a branch that only reenables the touchpad
when a pointing device other than the touchpad itself was removed. I'd
appreciate some testing, because I cannot reproduce this issue on my
computer.

Note that the touchpad will be reenabled after plugging and unplugging
an external mouse or trackball.

Here's a screenshot of mine, and I can provide any extra info needed. I
am using UbuntuMATE 14.04 32-bit version and see this on several
machines. Seems to be due to grub setup wanting to open a
terminal-like window to ask for user input and not being able to??

[Bug 1473655] [NEW] wl driver cause kernel oops

2015-07-11 Thread zebul666
Public bug reported:

As far as I can go in the log ie. 201504 when I installed vivid, I can
find traces of kernel oops regarding wl driver.

I never noticed it. Until recently when I got freeze, kernel panic (caps
lock led blinking), when deactivating the BCM43142 wifi card in nm
applet. Or that card failing to asociate to an AP.

Or even no network traffic even though I am connected to the AP.

So I began to believe of an hardware problem with the card until I found
all these kernel oops. There are more frequent recently.

[Bug 1464994] Re: Low audio volume on Thinkpad Helix

2015-07-11 Thread Mary Sherman
Can you give me more detailed instructions on how to do this (report
upstream, search in the registry)?

I've searched preamp and pre-amp in the windows registry, but
couldn't find anything.

I'm aware of the clipping cause - I was pointing that, given that the
volume is low, raising it above 100% (which causes clipping) is the only
way to have loud enough audio.

Thanks!

[Bug 1397885] Re: [Atheros AR9462] Bluetooth looks activated but cannot be used

2015-07-11 Thread Raphaël Jakse
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1394368 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394368

Hello !

The patch in comment #7 seems to consider my bluetooth adapter as a AR3012 ship.
According to https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers/ath3k, it seems
to be a AR3011 ship:

How to tell AR3011 and AR3012

You can use lsusb -v to check the device descriptor. If it's AR3011,
the iProduct value is 0. If it's AR3012 the iProduct value is 2.

The iProduct of by device seems to be 0, so my device seems to be a
AR3011 ship.

According to the same page, if I got it correct, the firmware to use for
AR3011 is ath3k-1.fw, not AthrBT_*.dfu and ramps_0x*_40.dfu.

Do you know how to tell ath3k to consider my device as a AR3011 ship?

Just a bit more information. The secure boot fails because these updates
replace the signed grubx64.efi with an unsigned version. I copied a
signed grubx64.efi from a backup (overwriting the one from the updates),
and now my secure boot is working correctly again.

[Bug 1473654] Re: checkarray --all only processes one array if scheduling class not specified

2015-07-11 Thread Tony Middleton
Reviewing the documentation, not specifying the scheduling class seems
valid. In that case I thing the correction is to change 'break' on line
199 to 'continue'

[Bug 1458470] Re: no uevent after ejecting CD-ROM

2015-07-11 Thread Sworddragon
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

I'm using user-defined udev rules which I have noticed stopped working
shortly before I have created this ticket. Based on these rules I have
created the testcase in the startpost so yes, this was working not much
time before I have created this ticket.
