[Bug 1484319] Re: package plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text 0.8.8-0ubuntu17.1 failed to install/upgrade: el subproceso instalado el script post-installation devolvió el código de salida de error 2

2015-08-12 Thread Steve Langasek
The error in your log is:

Configurando plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text (0.8.8-0ubuntu17.1) ...

The file /lib/plymouth/themes/ubuntu-text/ubuntu-text.plymouth.in is
part of the plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text package. If this is missing from
your system, you have a corrupted install. You can try to correct it by
running 'sudo apt-get install --reinstall plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text'
from a terminal.

[Bug 1069843] Re: Nautilus consuming memory and cpu

2015-08-12 Thread Shivam Khandelwal
Also there is a fix for this, which I am using.

Follow these (assuming you are logged in with "user" account) :

user@hostname#> sudo killall nautilus
user@hostname#> sudo nautilus &

(do add sudo while starting nautilus)

What I figured out was, in my laptop nautilus get started with "user"
permissions instead of "root" on startup. This created permission issues, and
thus nautilus end up taking so much resources. Running with "root" helped.
These are the comparisons, if it can help to anyone :

While running with "user"
Overall computer load : 2.4
CPU : 110%

While running with "root"
Overall computer load : 0.3
CPU : 5%

[Bug 1484319] Re: package plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text 0.8.8-0ubuntu17.1 failed to install/upgrade: el subproceso instalado el script post-installation devolvió el código de salida de error 2

2015-08-12 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

above but it didn't work.

I have attached a file with this message. Please have a look.

I do hope that there will be a support in future.

[Bug 1483320] Re: Migrate Broadwell to use i915_bpo

2015-08-12 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Hi Timo,
this issue could be reproduced on 4.2-rc6, but one interesting thing is that I
can't use the hot key to switch the external monitor off, but I can do it
manually in the system settings.

Attachment is the dmesg output on 4.2-rc6

[Bug 1484339] [NEW] ceilometer always tries public endpoint and failes if no route

2015-08-12 Thread Nobuto Murata
Public bug reported:

With separating API endpoints scenario, ceilometer service and agents
should use internal endpoint to communicate since nova-compute does not
have route to the public endpoint usually.

We needs "os_endpoint_type = internalURL" in each config, I believe.

[Bug 1363589] Re: gnome-do help opens do.davebsd.com, redirects to spam site

2015-08-12 Thread Mathew Hodson
I tested gnome-do 0.9-1ubuntu0.1 from trusty-proposed.

In the About page, the Visit Homepage link goes to
http://do.cooperteam.net/

The Help button in Preferences goes to https://answers.launchpad.net/do

In the Plugins tab, when you click on a plugin then click the About
button, the link still incorrectly goes to do.davebsd.com

That needs to be fixed in the gnome-do-plugins source package, so I am
adding a task for that and marking this verification-done.

[Bug 1284898] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in ScaleScreen::getSelectedWindow()

2015-08-12 Thread Lem
This bug is reproducible on the open source Radeon driver with
integrated Radeon HD3200. Stock Ubuntu 14.04 fully updated. The only
manual change was changing the order of plugins to load expo after unity
(so hotcorners would work reliably).

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open several instances of a single application (e.g. terminal)
2. Click on the icon for that application in the unity launcher
3. Compiz segfaults and X crashes.

Here are the segfault entries in dmesg from the few times I did it:

I can't give any information on the touchpad as it is currently in a
non-working state, however, this may or may not change after a reboot. I
believe it is an ElanTech touchpad.

Not sure what else I can do with this problem, it really annoying to
randomly loose mouse functionality sometimes. I don't think it is a
problem with the device itself as there have never been any problems in
my Windows 8 install. They are boot using different boot methods, Linux
is using GRUB through BIOS and Windows in using UEFI.

  Hope this helps.

[Bug 1465567] Re: Kernel panic - not syncing: Too many boot init vars at `nomdmonddf'

2015-08-12 Thread Mathew Hodson
I reproduced the problem and verified that it is fixed by mdadm
3.2.5-5ubuntu4.2 from trusty-proposed. Additional "nomdmonddf
nomdmonisw" entries are not appended when grub is reinstalled.

If you already had additional entries, they won't be removed when grub
is reconfigured though.

I don't usually use mdadm, and I don't have a RAID array, so I can't
test other than that.
