Thank you for your bug report, that seems like the sort of issue that
should be reported upstream though, could you do that?

[Bug 1513909] Re: unity8 crash on unplug of monitor

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mir-
team/qtmir/trunk/view/head:/src/platforms/mirserver/screencontroller.cpp#L157
is the relevant line of code. This triggers after compositor start, to
match mir DisplayBuffers with Qt Screens. I've designed it under the
assumption that each Mir Display will always have a DisplayBuffer on
compositor start.

Using the "Borders" or "Border Style" buttons on the Formatting toolbar
causes Calc to crash without any error messages. Applying borders using
the "Format cells" option from the right-click menu still works, only
the buttons on the toolbar seems to be broken.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new spreadsheet.
2. Select any cell.
3. Click on the "Borders" or "Border Style" button.
4. Select any border option in the pop-out.
R. Calc crashes without any error messages.

I am using Arch Linux x86_64.

I didn't test KDE because I didn't have it installed at the time.

[Bug 1511154] Re: xdg-settings set fails with status 2 because of a small glitch

2015-11-10 Thread Iuri Chaer
Attaching a patch with Michał's proposed fix, which works for me. I
think it makes sense to use head -n1, the first Exec entry is likely to
be a good pick -- if anyone adds a funny Exec entry, I'd expect it to
not be the first one.

I've found the same bug through a different path -- I ran execsnoop to
try and figure out what chromium was doing when it complained about not
being the default browser, and it's actually invoking `xdg-settings
check default-web-browser chromium-browser.desktop`, which, in my
environment (identified as gnome3) calls the exact same
desktop_file_to_binary ... function.

** Patch added: "Add head -n1 to grep for Exec inside .desktop file, so the
next command doesn't get a multiline input."

[Bug 1513297] Re: XE500C12-K01US Samsung Chromebook 2 Ubuntu 14.04 touchpad not responsive

2015-11-10 Thread rgkirch
I downloaded the following:
linux-headers-4.3.0-040300-generic_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.3.0-040300-generic_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_amd64.deb
I installed them with
sudo dpkg -i
linux-headers-4.3.0-040300-generic_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.3.0-040300-generic_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_amd64.deb
and got an error like in error-both.txt.
I tried to install just the header and got an error like in error-header.txt. I
tried installing them again and got the same thing. I rebooted and didn't catch
the grub menu. Neither the laptops keyboard nor the touchpad worked. I plugged
in an external keyboard and that worked. I edited /etc/defaults/grub to show
the grub menu. I rebooted and picked the 4.3.0-040300-generic... kernel from
the grub menu.
Now I'm in 4.3.0-040300-generic and the keyboard works but not the touchpad is
not responsive at all.
$ uname -r
4.3.0-040300-generic
Were the errors misleading and the kernel installed correctly? Did I download
the correct kernel? Was this the latest kernel? Do I test any more kernels or
just add the tags as per your previous instructions?

Thank you for your help!

[Bug 1514911] [NEW] Trusty update to 3.16.7-ckt19 stable release

2015-11-10 Thread Luis Henriques
Public bug reported:

SRU Justification

Impact:
The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly from Linus' tree or in a minimally
backported form of that patch. The 3.16.7-ckt19 upstream stable
patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu
   kernel as well.

[Bug 1513477] Re: PCI device has incorrect Vendor:Device ID when Southbridge used 0 wait reads

2015-11-10 Thread TJ
As I suspected the cause was in hardware, and specifically due to the
motherboard using Master Write 0-wait state access, which meant the
device had not completed mapping its registers into the PCI Config
address space when the kernel probed for the Vendor ID.

User applied my recommended BIOS configuration changes and the device is
now correctly identified.

The solution is to alter the BIOS settings. In this case the "LDT and
PCI Bus Control", and set "PCI1/PCI2 Master 0 WS Write" to Disabled to
enforce 1 wait state. The device also had to be in ports PC1 or PCI2
(nearest the AGP slot) on this Abit KV8-MAX3 mobo.

** Summary changed:

- PCI device has incorrect Vendor:Device ID when Southbridge used 0 wait reads
+ PCI device has incorrect Vendor:Device ID when Southbridge used 0 wait writes

[Bug 1514909] [NEW] zsh compinit breaks with KSH_ARRAYS, KSH_GLOB

2015-11-10 Thread Mikel Ward
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to wily, trying to Tab autocomplete prints a bunch of
errors.

It seems that

if [[ -z "$skip_global_compinit" ]]; then
  autoload -U compinit
  compinit
fi

in /etc/zsh/zshrc, and the completion rules it loads from
/usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion, is incompatible with KSH_ARRAYS and
KSH_GLOB, which previously worked fine in vivid.

Repro:
---
sudo useradd -m zshtest
sudo su - zshtest
cat >.zshrc <
mikel-study% cd /
_all_labels:63: bad math expression: operator expected at `funcstack ...'
_description:63: bad math expression: operator expected at `comp_ignor...'
_path_files:63: bad math expression: operator expected at `pfx '
_path_files:63: bad math expression: operator expected at `prepaths '
_path_files:63: bad math expression: operator expected at `ignore '
_path_files:63: bad math expression: operator expected at `ignore'
_main_complete:338: bad math expression: operator expected at `lastdescr'
_main_complete:377: bad math expression: operator expected at `comp_color...'
---

Putting skip_global_compinit=1 in ~/.zshenv works around the problem, as
does "unsetopt GLOBAL_RCS".

I imagine my set up is unsupported, but I notice that
/usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/compinit at least makes an attempt to avoid
this by doing
---
emulate -L zsh
setopt extendedglob
---

One pattern that seems likely to be problematic is the dynamic
definition of functions inside other functions, such as _next_tags
creating _all_labels inside its body, which presumably uses the current
shell options rather than the ones the completions assume are active.

$ dpkg -S /etc/zsh/zshrc /usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Base/_next_tags
zsh-common: /etc/zsh/zshrc
zsh-common: /usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Base/_next_tags

[Bug 1514885] [NEW] Emacs hangs upon yank from X clipboard

2015-11-10 Thread Jesse Glick
Public bug reported:

I routinely copy text from other applications such as Chromium and
Ctrl-Y to paste into Emacs. This worked fine as of Xubuntu 15.04. After
upgrading to 15.10 (emacs24 24.5+1-1ubuntu2), the yank operation
frequently hangs, freezing Emacs for perhaps a minute, not interruptible
with Ctrl-G. Eventually it recovers (but pastes something other than the
current clipboard contents). Once the problem starts happening, I cannot
paste into my Emacs window without a hang, making it a blocker for
routine usage.

I found http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=16737 which linked
to https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2015-07/msg00106.html
from which I found
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/commit/?id=a27ae9d7650a1230d4359eaf0a949f827315a6d2
that seems to be a backport to Emacs 24. Please make sure Ubuntu picks
up this fix.

[Bug 1514484] Re: Chromium start-up script doesn't accept argument values with spaces in $CHROMIUM_FLAGS, cause is lack of quotes

2015-11-10 Thread Iuri Chaer
Uh, I've tried that, but it keeps splitting the argument values no
matter how many slashes I add (they end up interpreted as part of the
URL -- for instance, instead of "B" chromium gives me "B/" in the
address bar). I've been trying to understand what bash is doing, but
it's really eluding me.

yes, but it is not an lxc bug, there's nothing lxc can do about it.
Stéphane un-marked it from lxc to make the lxc bug view more usable so

[Bug 1487704] Re: Call to deluge.core.Torrent.set_trackers() fails when trackers parameter is None

2015-11-10 Thread Cas
I should also add that if the OP is creating a plugin then it needs to
be able to handle and workaround this bug otherwise it will break with
all Deluge versions below 1.3.12 on other platforms so patching 1.3.11
in Vivid is not a good solution. Also of note Vivid is EOL in January
2016.

[Bug 1422046] Re: cinder backup-list is always listing all tenants's bug for admin

2015-11-10 Thread Jeremy Stanley
Correct, we consider that latter case a "security hardening opportunity"
and I'm triaging this report as one now (class D in our taxonomy
https://security.openstack.org/vmt-process.html#incident-report-taxonomy
). Depending on severity and available time from editors in the Security
Team, these sorts of issues sometimes get an OpenStack Security Note
published (OSSN rather than OSSA).

[Bug 1513909] Re: unity8 crash on unplug of monitor

2015-11-10 Thread Alan Griffiths
There's a whole host of Mir bugs in this area due to races detecting and
responding to display configuration changes (either from hardware
changes or from a session getting focus) with the creation of the nested
servers fullscreen surfaces. A chunk of these are fixed by lp:~alan-
griffiths/mir/fix-1506846 - but there's probably more to come.

[Bug 1512136] Re: Please merge xscreensaver 5.34-1(universe) from Debian (main)

2015-11-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package xscreensaver - 5.34-1ubuntu1

---
xscreensaver (5.34-1ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining changes: (LP: #1512136)
- debian/control:
+ Breaks/Replaces: the old changes are not needed anymore, but the
new changes the screensavers sets needs it.
- debian/rules:
+ Use /usr/share/backgrounds as image directory.
+ Add translation domain to .desktop files.
- debian/source_xscreensaver.py:
  + Add apport hook.
- debian/xscreensaver.dirs:
+ Install /usr/share/backgrounds. By default, settings search in
/usr/share/backgrounds and without it, it displays an error.
- debian/patch/90_ubuntu-branding.patch: Use Ubuntu branding.
- debian/patches/60_sequential_glslideshow.patch:
+ Allow going through images sequentially rather than just at random in
the GLSlideshow hack.
  * Dropped changes, fixed in Debian:
- debian/patches/91_replace-gdmflexiserver.patch:
+ Use dm-tool instead of gdmflexiserver for user-switching,
the latter is no longer provided by lightdm.

xscreensaver (5.34-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release 5.34
- Fixed a crash when hot-swapping monitors while locked.
  (Closes: #802914)
- Fixed some incorrect output from xscreensaver-command -watch.

xscreensaver (5.33-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release 5.33, changes since 5.30:
- New hacks, `geodesicgears', `binaryring', `cityflow', `splitflap'
  and `romanboy'.
- UTF-8 text support (instead of only Latin1) and antialiased text
on X11 with Xft (instead of only on OSX/iOS) in `fontglide',
  `noseguy', `fliptext', `starwars', and `winduprobot'.
  The other text-displaying hacks (`apple2', `phosphor', `xmatrix',
and `gltext') also now accept UTF-8 input, though they convert it
to Latin1 or ASCII. (Closes: #180775)
- `glplanet' now has both day and night maps, and a sharp terminator.
- Fixed a transparency glitch in `winduprobot'.
- Better detection of user activity on modern GNOME systems.
  * xscreensaver*.postrm/postinst/preinst: Remove obsolete parts used in
lenny->squeeze and potato->woody transitions
  * Do not overwrite user-configured /etc/X11/app-defaults/XScreenSaver
Thanks to Bastien Roucariès for initial patch (Closes: #767019)
  * Replace GNOME with MATE in desktop files stub (Closes: #766880, #774539)
  * debian/copyright: Use unique short names for "other" licenses
  * xscreensaver-wrapper.sh: Detect if launched from lightdm session
Thanks to Alexander Gerasiov for patch (Closes: #778470)
  * debian/control: Recommend libgnomeui-0 package for xscreensaver-demo
Thanks to Michael Gilbert for patch (Closes: #661174)
  * debian/rules: Hardcode app-defaults dir for configure

[Bug 1514845] Re: Error in using already defined constants (PHP)

2015-11-10 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1514845/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.
