[Bug 1373005] Re: tulip 4.4 (Ubuntu 14.04) segfault on startup

2015-11-17 Thread Stéphane Guillou
Same here on Ubuntu 14.04-based KXstudio distro. Installed the default
repo tulip version 4.4.0dfsg2-2 and I get a segmentation fault straight
from the start.

There have been 5 releases of Tulip since 4.4.0:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/auber/files/tulip/

Trying the latest (4.8.0) will probably solve the issue, seeing that
comment 51 in the Debian bug report mentions the bug should be fixed in
version 4.5.0dfsg-1: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=723982#51

I can't test the latest version as I don't have the capacity to compile
from source.

Cheers

[Bug 1517348] [NEW] Xorg freeze on DELL XPS13 L322X Ubuntu 15.10

2015-11-17 Thread Alessandro Sfondrini
Public bug reported:

Since the upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10 I am experiencing frequent freezes.
This did happen on the same system before the upgrade, but not nearly as
frequently. It seems to happen randomly. As of now I have no other
computer that I can use to access my own during freezes by ssh and
confirm that this is a graphic only issue / gather further info.

Before upgrading I had other issues on this laptop (laptop shutting down
randomly after resuming from suspend) which are seemingly resolved by
the upgrade.

The way that the screen freezes is most peculiar. I attach a picture of
the screen for information.

[Bug 1517294] Re: [Dell Inspiron 5758] Unable to finish 30 cycle suspend stress test with fwts on Intel GPU

2015-11-17 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
** Description changed:

  CID: 201501-16351 Dell Inspiron 5758

When running with the integrated GPU (power-saving profile) on this I+N
  hybrid system.

It will freeze on resume when testing with 30 cycles suspend test.

But it works with the performance profile (NVIDIA GPU).

  Command:
  fwts -q --stdout-summary -r /home/ubuntu/.cache/plainbox/sessions
  /pbox-u2qsvl1w.session/CHECKBOX_DATA/suspend_30_cycles --s3-device-check
  --s3-device-check-delay 45 --s3-sleep-delay 30 s3

  Steps:
  1. Install 14.04.3 + update (3.19.0-33) + nvidia proprietary driver (346.96)
  2. Install fwts
  3. Install plainbox and canonical-certification-client from ppa:checkbox-dev
  4. Run plainbox run -i
'2013.com.canonical.certification::power-management/suspend_30_cycles'
(or you can run it with the fwts command mentioned above 30 times for the
test)

+ Expected result:
+ * Everything works after s3 stress test.
+
+ Actual result:
+ * System stuck when resume from s3.
+
+ I tried to suspend it from the system menu, and wake it up with the
+ power button to clarify this is not an issue to fwts, however, I can't
+ successfully wake it up every time when running with the integrated GPU.
+

2015-11-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1517102] Re: Gmail webapp account renewal not successful

2015-11-17 Thread Alberto Mardegan
I'm afraid that the attached logs are not relative to the first
execution of the webapp, where the SAML login is performed.

#1 We do have this already, it's just a matter of copying the ~/.cache
/online-accounts-ui/id-* files and restoring them.

#2 We also have useful debugging messages (and indeed, some less useful
ones too) when the login happens; but in these logs we don't see them,
because with all probability they are not the right log files.

I don't think that it's related to this bug at all, but there's a suspicious
line in the logs:
Ignoring empty or invalid webapp URL pattern:
"https?://accounts.google.co.*/*"
Indeed, the code in url-pattern-utils.cpp doesn't seem to support this kind or
pattern, and that should be fixed.

[Bug 1517330] [NEW] Evolution 3.16.5 does not wrap text in message body

2015-11-17 Thread Bob English
Public bug reported:

In received emails, the text does not wrap to the window. When opened
in a new window it does not either. There are no horizontal scroll
bars. There is no setting anywhere for it, but then again who needs a
setting for something that should be native behavior.

When composing a message, I can set it to wrap the text from the format
menu (It should be the default), and it works for the message I am
writing, but not on the original message that I am replying to below it.

I have to copy longer messages, and paste them into a text editor, in
order to read them.

[Bug 1429988] Re: Preview and photos are unfocused

2015-11-17 Thread Dubstar_04
On the MX4 the preview is well focused but when the shutter button is
pressed there is a wipe animation on screen and the image becomes out of
focus. It seems as if the image is post processed reducing the quality
and focus. This device has one of the best image sensors available but
repeatably produces poorimages. Is there any information or logs that
can be provided to validate this behavior?

[Bug 1493888] Re: FGLRX incompatible with gcc 5

2015-11-17 Thread QIII
AMD's fglrx does not support the HD 4200 in that version of Ubuntu. The
last Ubuntu release supported by the AMD proprietary driver was 12.04.1.

Adapters prior to the HD 5000 series are not supported. This bug is not

[Bug 1515828] Re: system lockup, console logs kernel BUG at /build/linux-lts-trusty-HlNG0J/linux-lts-trusty-3.13.0/kernel/hrtimer.c:1310

2015-11-17 Thread Paul Gear
Hi Joseph,

Here's what happens when I try to install http://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.3-wily/linux-
image-4.3.0-040300-generic_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_amd64.deb:
https://pastebin.canonical.com/144314/

Is there a specific repo which needs to be enabled in order to provide
kmod for precise? According to http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/kmod
it was not in the main archive before trusty.

Regards,
Paul

[Bug 1241498] Re: package libapache2-mod-php5 5.5.3+dfsg-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-11-17 Thread John Muchiri
This seems to be a dependency issue if you install libapache2-mod-php5
after apache2.

I fixed this using the following after installing apache2

sudo service apache2 stop

sudo service mysql stop

sudo apt-get purge libapache2-mod-php5

sudo apt-get autoremove

sudo apt-get clean

sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5

[Bug 1275416] Re: touchscreen do not work after suspend/resume

2015-11-17 Thread Peter A
This bug also affects me (15.04, Thinkpad Yoga 13), and It is usually
resolved with three or four finger touch. In other words, suspend makes
one finger touch broken, and a single multi-touch input resolves the
issue.

[Bug 1517305] [NEW] Visibility of update progress during "update-initramfs" not given

2015-11-17 Thread Flames_in_Paradise
Public bug reported:

Hello

shortlog:

If a new user installs ubuntu and as post-installation task runs the
available updates there is big chance he'll be getting a new Kernel tool
– this means that the initRAMFS will be updated.

Depending on the Hardware equipment, this can be a rather timely + CPU
consuming process.

The chance to believe the PC stalls is at high risk w/o visual
feedback.

If the electricty or internet-connection fails to work - and the process
was interupted, the system will call for a

to correct the problem

If the user does so, he gets no visul feedback in terms of a progressbar

Remember the Knoppix CD, where the boot-process in itself is visible?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPsFmMFwScU @ 5min11sec

It can build trust to see that a process is evolving - even the
Redomond-guys respect this with W10 - giving a feedback to the user -
not just a blinking cursor.

Thinking this would not be to timely to implement.
