[Bug 907571] Re: A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment

2015-12-03 Thread Tiago Stürmer Daitx
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
only once:

apport-collect 907571

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

[Bug 1081952] Re: squid 3.1.19 external_acl_type fail

2015-12-03 Thread Amos Jeffries
I think this bug is not valid.

The config does not meet the documented requirement that the script
interpreter be a *full path* to the sript interpreter, or helper binary.
"php" is not the full path to the PHP executable.

The helper is also closing its stdin communication socket to Squid
before sending any response back. When Squid receives that termination
signal, the helper state will be shutdown and ERR used in place of any
pending lookups.

[Bug 1504445] Re: FocalTech touchpad stops working after suspend

2015-12-03 Thread Jason Harmon
I can confirm this issue on my Asus K501LX-NH52 on a fresh install
(Xubuntu 14.04.3) from yesterday. Touchpad stops working after suspend,
forced to use USB mouse for now.

The Elantech driver is installed automatically when Ubuntu installs.
Kernel 3.19.0-37 is installed as part of the first batch of updates.
I tried installing Pilot6's ppa:hanipouspilot/focaltech-dkms driver without
any change.

dmidecode | grep Product\ Name
Product Name: K501LX

uname -r
3.19.0-37-generic

dkms_status output:
bbswitch, 0.7, 3.19.0-37-generic, x86_64: installed
focaltech, 1.5~trusty1, 3.19.0-37-generic, x86_64: installed
nvidia-355, 355.11, 3.19.0-37-generic, x86_64: installed

lsmod | grep i8042

I guess I'll try this kernel patch as suggested for now, while this
issue is still pending.

[Bug 1521618] Re: wrong subnet in DHCP answer when multiple networks are present

2015-12-03 Thread Zoltan Arnold Nagy
Adding the packet capture. The DHCP reply clearly has the wrong subnet;
after that I see it starts transferring the file over tftp so not sure
why it gets stuck.

[Bug 1434396] Re: Xserver does not start or freezes with systemd + lightdm

2015-12-03 Thread peter swain
I saw similar issue when adding a 2nd screen to my 15.10 systemd + lightdm
system, which had been happy with single screen.
Also happy when systemd not used, even with 2 displays

Booted OK, but on resume from suspend (usually after going to lock screen)
things were completely hung with per-second repeats of
Dec 1 01:13:00 grunt kernel: [ 591.465083] nouveau E[compiz[5704]] fail ttm_va
lidate
Dec 1 01:13:00 grunt kernel: [ 591.465092] nouveau E[compiz[5704]] validating
bo list
Dec 1 01:13:00 grunt kernel: [ 591.465118] nouveau E[compiz[5704]] validate:
-12
...

Nouveau is kernel driver, but the issue seemed to come from compiz paging.
Yet compiz behavior is directed by its clients.

When I noticed 'service lightdm status' had warnings about libpam_kwallet5, I
looked at how that was used.
Found I had no pam-kwallet5, because I don't use kde/plasma.
I did have kwallet4, which gnome depends on.
So what was bitching about kwallet5???

Still not sure where the missing dpkg dependency on pam-kwallet5 should go,
but it's definately needed -- I added pam-kwallet5 over ssh session and the
hung displays
immediately came back to life.

Lightdm's pam usage of kwallet5 is allegedly always optional, as in
/etc/pam.d/lightdm-greeter:132:authoptionalpam_kwallet5.so
/etc/pam.d/lightdm-greeter:543:session optionalpam_kwallet5.so
auto_start
/etc/pam.d/lightdm:223:authoptionalpam_kwallet5.so
/etc/pam.d/lightdm:675:session optionalpam_kwallet5.so auto_start
But some defect makes it mandatory in a multi-display systemd setup.

Perhaps it's a sequential overspecification in restore logic revealed by
multi-display and system event handling.
Don't yet understand, but adding the allegedly optional pam-kwallet5 fixed it

[Bug 1522680] Re: Can't send message with roundcube in wily

2015-12-03 Thread Aaron Peromsik
** Description changed:

I can read my mail with roundcube but if I try to reply to a message,
- the send button doesn't seem to do anything.
+ the send button doesn't seem to do anything. Also, when replying to HTML
+ messages, HTML source is shown in the editor instead of rendered HTML.

In the JS console I see a 404 error for (my
  url)/program/js/tinymce/tinymce.min.js .

Seems this is the same as Debian bug 784351 which is said to be fixed in
a newer version of the roundcube package. So I built the xenial version
of roundcube for wily and it works much better.

Would be nice to release a newer version as an update for wily so that
  people's mail can be sent.

[Bug 1519510] [NEW] remove py26 support

2015-12-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

as of mitaka, the infra team won't have the resources available to
reasonably test py26, also the oslo team is dropping py26 support from
their libraries. sine we rely on oslo for a lot of our work, and depend
on infra for our CI, we should drop py26 support too.

[Bug 1522689] [NEW] xfwm4 segfaults when switching themes as root user

2015-12-03 Thread Jeffery Wilkins
Public bug reported:

I need help with capturing a gdb backtrace because when you switch
themes all the windows become unresponsive meaning I can not click into
the terminal to type "bt full"

steps to reproduce this bug is self explained

be running Xubuntu or XFCE Session
open a terminal and do "sudo gtk-theme-switch2"
pick any theme you like
apport will complain that xfwm4 has crashed

how to try with gdb

open up a terminal and do ps aux | grep xfwm4 to get the full command with all
the args including the display number and a unique id so take the command and
copy it into the clipboard
now to prevent xfwm4 from restarting go into xubuntu settings under session and
startup head over to the session tab and you should see a PID number of the
running xfwm4 which you copied the command from change the restart style to
"NONE" do not panic this is only a temp change when you restart your PC it will
reset back to default setting
next have a terminal window open standing by with $ gdb xfwm4 and press enter
in a 2nd terminal kill the PID of the running xfwm4
now at the (gdb) prompt in the 1st terminal just type r and press enter the
window manager should be running now
try and reproduce the bug and when it segfaults you should be back at a (gdb)
prompt
this is where I get stuck

[Bug 1520568] Re: All queries fails when 'google' is used: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

2015-12-03 Thread shankao
I tried libnss just now with version 3.21 and it fails consistently. I have
downgraded again to 3.19 to keep work going on...
To me, if it's not libnss itself, then it's some weird interaction with the
last version of it.

[Bug 743246] Re: java crashed with SIGABRT in os::is_first_C_frame()

2015-12-03 Thread Tiago Stürmer Daitx
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
only once:

apport-collect 743246

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

[Bug 1522680] [NEW] Can't send message with roundcube in wily

2015-12-03 Thread Aaron Peromsik
Public bug reported:

I can read my mail with roundcube but if I try to reply to a message,
the send button doesn't seem to do anything.

[Bug 1500242] Re: Bluetooth devices (Jabra BT250, Audi A3 car kit) can not be connected with BQ Aquaris 4.5

2015-12-03 Thread Simon Fels
@Tony: Thanks!

@Uranicus:

A couple of questions:

- First: For all things please follow
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingBluetooth so that we get some more
detailed logs of what is going on in your system. That would be great
and would allow us to debug this.

- When you disconnect your Jabra headset and reconnect it what are the
exacts steps? What does "the device will not be reconnected again."
mean? You're just sitting there wand waiting for it to reconnect or did
you press any buttons? Please describe the steps in detail.

- "Instead of the headset symbol it shows a loudspeaker symbol": That
could be something we can't change. This is encoded in the class-of-
device field the device provides and if it is saying "I am a speaker"
rather than a "I am a headset" we don't have any chance. The
bluetoothctl command output asked for in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingBluetooth would be helpful for this. We
already saw quite a few headsets having exactly this behavior.

- "list with: incoming, missed, placed calls empty" is a missing
feature. Duplicates
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1479442

- "not tested yet: 2nd SIM (I currently do not have a 2nd SIM)" will not
work until https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/telephony-
service/+bug/1418040 is fixes. Duplicte as well.

I Will consider this bug only for the Jabra headset from now on. The
issues for the A3 seems to have fixed and the outstanding things are
just missing feature already tracked in other bugs linked above.

[Bug 1521931] Re: apparmor-profile-load returns 1 if apparmor not installed

2015-12-03 Thread Serge Hallyn
** Description changed:

+ ==
+ [ SRU Justification ]
+ 1. Impact: users with upstart and without apparmor have init jobs failing to
start
+ 2. Test case: apt-get purge apparmor; apt-get install upstart-sysv; apt-get
install rsyslog
+ rsyslog will fail to start
+ 3. Regression potential: we only exit 0 at the end of the script - nothing
will change
+ in cases where apparmor is installed.
+ ==
+
  Environment:

ubuntu 15.04 with upstart and without apparmor

I tried to upgrade my ubuntu image to 15.10 and upgrading breaks on
  rsyslog:

  start: Job failed to start

i checked dmesg and found this:

  [ 525.832963] init: rsyslog pre-start process (3078)
[ 525.833007] init: rsyslog state changed from pre-starting to pre-start
  [ 525.834464] init: rsyslog pre-start process (3078) terminated with status 1
[ 525.834639] init: rsyslog goal changed from start to stop

  so i looked in pre-start:
  pre-start script
  /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load usr.sbin.rsyslogd
  end script

  and then in /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load:
  #!/bin/sh

  [ -x /lib/apparmor/profile-load ] && exec /lib/apparmor/profile-load
  "$@"

in my case where is no "/lib/apparmor/profile-load" file, so this
scripts return 1, which breaks pre-start and breaks rsyslog starting

I guess that if /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load script checks if file
exists, it should return 0 in case then file doesn't exist

[Bug 1481536] Re: "cryptsetup: unknown fstype, bad password or options?" error unlocking / decrypting LUKS volume at boot

2015-12-03 Thread Richard Hansen
I uploaded Steve's patch to my PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~rhansen/+archive/ubuntu/bug1481536

I haven't tested it yet. The patch looks good to me, except I wonder
whether the call to udev_settle() between the two blkids should be moved
up to just after $cryptopen (see attached patch). Thoughts?

Re: [Bug 1485228] Re: Video not working when streaming to mediaplayer-app

2015-12-03 Thread Fredrik Sundström
I'm not aware of what is media-hub or mediaplayer-app, but I only use the
command "ubuntu-app-launch mediaplayer-app http://192.168.1.9:8081; on the
phone.

I have tested a number of different codecs and mux options in the vlc
command on the server. The combination in the bug report is the one I found
to work best
(#transcode{vcodec=h264,acodec=mp3,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:http{mux=ffmpeg{mux=flv},dst=:8081/}),
the others I've tried does not even produce sound on the phone.

[Bug 1522690] [NEW] network-manager fails to connect on wakeup

2015-12-03 Thread svenmeier
Public bug reported:

Occasionally when I wakeup my notebook from suspend, no Wifi connection is
established:
- sometimes it is sufficient to toggle the Wifi block to reconnect
- once or twice a week I have to restart the network-manager to regain Wifi

[Bug 1522694] Re: Mouse acceleration gets faster (too fast) during and after dragging the Unity launcher

2015-12-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I also have my acceleration set to minimal:

xinput set-prop 'Microsoft Microsoft® Comfort Mouse 4500' 'Device Accel
Velocity Scaling' 1

so the bug kind of feels like the setting is being ignored only after
clicking on the Unity launcher.

[Bug 1470250] Re: [Hyper-V] Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Generation 2 SCSI Errors on VSS Based Backups

2015-12-03 Thread Dexuan Cui
Thanks @f-bosch for your clarification in #62. So my understanding is:
the (temporary) I/O downgrade during the period of backup might be
caused by the fact the disk space has been almost used up (?) recently,
but it also might be somehow related to the backup. Let's focus on the
backup issue at present.

Thanks @jsalisbury for the detailed test steps & script!
I suppose the result in #66 implies a real issue, which can't be fixed by the
patches mentioned in bug 1519917. We're going to further investigate the issue
too with the help of your test script.

Since there was not already a udev_settle call there, I assumed (but did not
verify) that cryptsetup operates synchronously, and only returns once the
device mapping has been set up. We should only add one there if someone
confirms that cryptsetup *doesn't* block until the device is created.

I believe the second udev_settle call that you removed is absolutely
required /at that point/. Even if cryptsetup synchronously ensures the
container device mapping has been set up, I don't think it ensures that the
events for the child device have been handled yet - or even added to the
event queue - so udev_settle could still return before vgchange -a has been
run.

But talking through this, I realize this also means that we still need to
call vgchange ourselves, because otherwise there's still a race condition
here even with udev_settle being called a little bit later.

I'll prepare an updated patch, and test it.

[Bug 1522527] Re: Feature request: reinstate the menu option to hide the toolbar

2015-12-03 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.
