[Bug 1512608] Re: No thumbnails generated for OGG audio
The Bad Request response issue is definitely fixed by the linked branch. I'm seeing much more robust behavior now. We still have an issue with the error back-off being too aggressive when an individual request to the server times out. I'll work on that and try to get this into OTA-9. We have a separate bug for that problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thumbnailer/+bug/1528105 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1512608 Title: No thumbnails generated for OGG audio To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/music-app/+bug/1512608/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1529452] Re: Gallery app asks for same image multiple times at different sizes
This is really serious. I'm seeing around a dozen requests for each image (each request at a different size) when scrolling in the event view. I'm also seeing crashes. One way to reproduce seems to be to scroll all the way to the end of the event view and then scroll in the other direction. As soon as I try to go backwards from the end, I get a crash. ** Changed in: gallery-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529452 Title: Gallery app asks for same image multiple times at different sizes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gallery-app/+bug/1529452/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1529462] [NEW] Access to source folder in Recently used
Public bug reported: Dear all, This bug report is in direct reference to the conversation at bugzilla.gnome.org [1]. There I was told that the GTK File Chooser dialog has a function under "Recently Used" to directly access the source folder. However, in Ubuntu 15.10 I cannot find this option. Is this function not available yet because Ubuntu 15.10 uses a different version of GTK? Is this function thus something that will be available in future Ubuntu releases? [Bug 1459613] Re: connecting 2x 4k screens on a Dell XPS12 (9Q33): compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in GLTexture::matrix() from GLScreen::glPaintCompositedOutput
Seems my respons was lost: i gave a reply to the emailalert, but it didn't make it to launchpad i see. So here it is once more; --- So, nice to have finally explained this issue, as far im concerned you can set this bug to resolved. It gets handled nicely on a new install of 15.10 and correct message and not crashing. Things i did; - copy to texture is on - i didn't run arandr, too complex for me (i am just a newbee on linux). - i placed the 3rd screen at the bottom and even while the screen was activated and i had 3 screens, the whole screen froze (even though music kept playing). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459613 Title: connecting 2x 4k screens on a Dell XPS12 (9Q33): compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in GLTexture::matrix() from GLScreen::glPaintCompositedOutput To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1459613/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1515091] Re: Thumbnail of photo/video displays incorrect size in preview page
Here is what I see in the thumbnailer log when I tap on a single image in the photo roll: Note that, even though I asked to see one image, the app issues requests for two images. As far as I can see, it should ask only for the image I want to see? For each image, there are two requests, one for 768, and one for 2304. There should be only one request. Asking for the image at 2304 is meaningless, in the sense that the thumbnailer won't deliver anything larger than 1920. It doesn't do any harm as such, the actual image that is returned will be scaled to 1920. But the image that is shown is too large and displaces the "Open button" near the bottom, so I can see the button only once is scroll. The preview image should be displayed at a size that doesn't push the rest of the card off the screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1515091 Title: Thumbnail of photo/video displays incorrect size in preview page To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thumbnailer/+bug/1515091/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1280300] Re: Desktop contents displayed on resume, before lock screen is shown
Still seeing this bug in Ubuntu 15.10 64-bit with Unity 3D, and have seen it in every Ubuntu version going back to at least 2011, across several different laptops from different manufacturers (Chromebook, Thinkpad, and Dell something-or-other). It happens reliably every time I resume from suspend - doesn't matter if I suspended through the menu or by closing the lid. How is this not considered a major security bug? If someone steals my laptop they can see anything I was doing before suspending. [Bug 1529452] [NEW] Gallery app asks for same image multiple times at different sizes
Public bug reported: I'm seeing this with image 342 from rc-proposed. When starting the gallery app with around 300 photos in my Pictures folder, I just noticed the request sequence shown below. Note that all requests are for the same image and are issued pretty much all at once. (There is about half a second elapsed time between the first and the last request.) The requests keep changing the size only, starting at 342 and working their way down to 216. This is supremely inefficient because each of the requests results in a separate scaling operation. In addition, each of these requests ends up in the cache on disk, so this behavior really hammers the battery and reduces cache efficiency. thumbnailer-service: [09:25:36.825] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (342,342): 0.044376 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:36.899] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (341,341): 0.020540 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:36.942] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (340,340): 0.034030 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.068] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (338,338): 0.143506 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.095] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (335,335): 0.154219 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.126] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (332,332): 0.162185 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.145] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (326,326): 0.172134 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.167] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (318,318): 0.177231 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.188] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (307,307): 0.181870 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.205] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (292,292): 0.182084 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.223] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (273,292): 0.183793 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.238] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (273,273): 0.198290 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.369] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (250,273): 0.313627 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.391] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (250,250): 0.334533 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.402] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (218,218): 0.317747 sec (MISS)" thumbnailer-service: [09:25:37.405] "thumbnail: /home/phablet/Pictures/com.ubuntu.camera/image20151227_091023042.jpg (216,216): 0.310605 sec (HIT)" ** Affects: gallery-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: thumbnailer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Triaged ** Also affects: gallery-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: thumbnailer (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529452 Title: Gallery app asks for same image multiple times at different sizes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gallery-app/+bug/1529452/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1529232] Re: Scanner not detected over wifi since after 3.13.0-68
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Please see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2306464 for details. I'm running 64-bit 14.04 LTS ubuntu. When I boot my PC into 3.13.0-68-generic (via the 'ubuntu advanced' menu item in grub) I can detect my scanner over wifi using scangearmp. However since 3.13.0-70-generic I have not been able to detect my scanner over wifi. My current kernel is 3.13.0-74-generic. Therefore I suspect a regression has occurred between 3.13.0-68-generic and 3.13.0-70-generic: Scanner *is* detected by scangearmp over wifi and it scans documents as expected in this version: uname -a Linux zorro 3.13.0-68-generic #111-Ubuntu SMP Fri Nov 6 18:17:06 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux But scanner is *not* detected by scangearmp in this version or later: Linux zorro 3.13.0-70-generic #113-Ubuntu SMP Mon Nov 16 18:34:13 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Note that this happened before some time ago. i.e., The scanner was detected over wifi, then not, then it was again some time later. Then this latest break occurred again. I suspect successive updates are fixing or breaking the detection accordingly. $ dpkg -l | grep scangear ii scangearmp-common 2.20-1 amd64ScanGear MP for Linux. ii scangearmp-mg7100series 2.20-1 amd64ScanGear MP for Linux. Device is Canon Pixma MG7150 (combined printer, scanner, copier). Note the printer works fine over wifi; only the scanner is affected. - I can see from the changelog at - http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/l/linux/linux_3.13.0-74.118/changelog - that many changes went into 3.13.0-69.112 but it's not obvious to me - which of these might have caused the regression. + I can see from the changelog at http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/l/linux/linux_3.13.0-74.118/changelog that many changes went into 3.13.0-69.112 but it's not obvious to me which of these might have caused the regression. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.19 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC1: lucas 1604 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC2: lucas 1604 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC0: lucas 1604 F pulseaudio + CurrentDesktop: Unity + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=0140e677-b732-4571-a80a-fc5d7c00359c + InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-12-05 (387 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140722.2) + MachineType: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD MS-7528 + NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcFB: + + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-74-generic root=UUID=941f5e44-f02e-42f2-ac78-5f6b4b9e98e9 ro quiet splash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-74.118-generic 3.13.11-ckt30 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-3.13.0-74-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-3.13.0-74-generic N/A + linux-firmware 1.127.19 + RfKill: + 0: phy0: Wireless LAN + Soft blocked: no + Hard blocked: no + Tags: trusty + Uname: Linux 3.13.0-74-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True + dmi.bios.date: 06/19/2009 + dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. + dmi.bios.version: V1.3 + dmi.board.asset.tag: To Be Filled By O.E.M. + dmi.board.name: G31M3-F(MS-7528) + dmi.board.vendor: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD + dmi.board.version: 1.0 + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: To Be Filled By O.E.M. + dmi.chassis.type: 3 + dmi.chassis.vendor: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD + dmi.chassis.version: 1.0 + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvrV1.3:bd06/19/2009:svnMICRO-STARINTERNATIONALCO.,LTD:pnMS-7528:pvr1.0:rvnMICRO-STARINTERNATIONALCO.,LTD:rnG31M3-F(MS-7528):rvr1.0:cvnMICRO-STARINTERNATIONALCO.,LTD:ct3:cvr1.0: + dmi.product.name: MS-7528 + dmi.product.version: 1.0 + dmi.sys.vendor: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD ** Attachment added: "AlsaInfo.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529232/+attachment/4540973/+files/AlsaInfo.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529232 Title: Scanner not detected over wifi since after 3.13.0-68 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1529232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1529497] [NEW] Frequent iwlwifi crashes
Public bug reported: I experience very frequent wireless network deconnections on my laptop. A typical case is when I close the screen : when I open it again, the network is systematically gone. Sometimes it's just that the wifi options won't show up in NetworkManager dropdown menu, but on other occasions the menu says that the wifi has been turned off with a hardware switch (there is no such switch on the laptop). Syslog shows crashes related to iwlwifi (search for "Trace" in the attached file). Sorry for the poor report, but I don't have much time to narrow down the issue. Of course I can add whichever information is needed. fang@MiniFang:~$ LANG=en_US lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS Release:14.04 fang@MiniFang:~$ LANG=en_US apt-cache policy linux-firmware linux-firmware: Installed: 1.127.19 Candidate: 1.127.19 Version table: *** 1.127.19 0 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1.127.18 0 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-security/main amd64 Packages 1.127 0 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages fang@MiniFang:~$ sudo LANG=en_US lshw -C network *-network description: Wireless interface product: Wireless 7260 vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@:02:00.0 logical name: wlan0 version: c3 serial: 48:51:b7:e1:26:b6 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes driver=iwlwifi driverversion=3.19.0-42-generic firmware=25.17.12.0 ip=192.168.0.12 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11bgn resources: irq:52 memory:f710-f7101fff *-network description: Ethernet interface product: RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller vendor: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. physical id: 0.1 bus info: pci@:03:00.1 logical name: eth0 version: 12 serial: 80:fa:5b:14:57:4b size: 10Mbit/s capacity: 1Gbit/s width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress msix vpd bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp mii 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=r8169 driverversion=2.3LK-NAPI duplex=half firmware=rtl8411-2_0.0.1 07/08/13 latency=0 link=no multicast=yes port=MII speed=10Mbit/s resources: irq:48 ioport:e000(size=256) memory:f7014000-f7014fff memory:f701-f7013fff ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: linux-firmware 1.127.19 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-42.48~14.04.1-generic 3.19.8-ckt10 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-42-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.19 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sun Dec 27 18:30:50 2015 Dependencies: InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-08-20 (128 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Beta amd64 (20150805) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: linux-firmware UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty ** Attachment added: "/var/log/syslog" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529497/+attachment/4540991/+files/syslog -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529497 Title: Frequent iwlwifi crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1529497/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1529504] [NEW] Alien postinst/prerm scripts expecting integer argument
Public bug reported: Using Ubuntu 15.04, alien package version 8.93 I was converting an RPM to a deb and supplied --scripts so that it generates the prerm/postinst etc... scripts when installing. It created the .deb successfully but the postrm and preinst scripts produced an error during install. In postrm there is an if statement on line 9 which uses "-eq" to check if 0 and then removes some installed files. From what I've read the support scripts are called with strings for the first argument, Changed it to "if [ "$1" = "remove" ];" and that worked as expected. The same goes for preinst but it should check for "install" (I'm assuming there are more instances where this occurs). The file I used was the "QConvergeConsole CLI for Linux (x64)" from http://driverdownloads.qlogic.com/QLogicDriverDownloads_UI/SearchByProduct.aspx?ProductCategory=39=935=65 I would attach the RPM but I doubt QLogic would be happy me redistributing their software. ** Affects: alien (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529504 Title: Alien postinst/prerm scripts expecting integer argument To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alien/+bug/1529504/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
