[Bug 1314556] Re: Unable to mount Android MTP device

2016-01-05 Thread Tauras
I have the same problem with Nokia Lumia 1520. It stays hanged when choosing
the phone. and the similar log output on mtp-detect.
But there is one thing i found out. When i removed cd card (64 GB) from the
phone it started to work as expected. Maybe the problem is with sd card support?

2016-01-05 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1531038] Re: Cancellation happens too late

2016-01-05 Thread Michi Henning
Thanks for that. Yes, I figured that too. The question is whether, they
way things are at the moment, things are ever deleted. We allow up to 20
async requests via dbus and then queue any additional ones up on the
client side. With the remote server taking 3-10 seconds for each image,
it's easy to pile up a few hundred requests just by scrolling down
quickly.

Now, when we get a cancel(), we actually cancel() the request if it's
one that is still in the queue waiting to be sent. And we don't kick the
queue to start working on another request until an earlier request
completes. The question for me right now is "at what point (if any) does
the listview cancel requests that scroll off the top of the screen while
they are still waiting?"

The behavior I'm seeing when scrolling forward suggests that nothing is
ever cancelled (or that cancellation isn't working for some reason). If
cancellation did work, I wouldn't have to wait for the 200 requests that
I just scrolled past to complete before the current region of the
listview gets its thumbnails.

At this point, it's still investigation. I don't know what exactly is
happening just yet. It's possible that there is still a bug in our
request cancellation.

[Bug 1523452] Re: Not able to download office documents through webbrowser-app

2016-01-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package webbrowser-app -
0.23+16.04.20151222.1-0ubuntu1

---
webbrowser-app (0.23+16.04.20151222.1-0ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * Add keyboard shorcuts for 'next' (Ctrl+G) and 'previous'
(Ctrl+Shift+G) while in find-in-page mode. (LP: #1522152)
  * Do not allow interacting with tabs and the chrome while the settings
page is shown. (LP: #1524353)
  * Fix a crash when clearing the navigation history while the new tab
view is open. (LP: #1525937)
  * Fix deleting multiple domains from the history view. Add unit tests
for the HistoryView component. (LP: #1527144)
  * Fix some obvious issues in PreviewManager. (LP: #1519019)
  * Fix the tab preview sometimes covering the tab chrome, in the tabs
view. Offset tab previews by 1px to cover the semi-transparent
horizontal line at the bottom of the tab chrome asset. (LP:
#1520624)
  * Recognize openoffice and MS-office file formats as documents, now
that the document viewer app knows how to render them. (LP:
#1523452)
  * Update translation template.
  * Use the screen size (diagonal in millimeters) to determine which
default UA string and which UA overrides to use. An empirical
threshold of 19cm is being used, it is subject to further
adjustments. (LP: #1504084)

2016-01-05 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1519393] Re: New revision of 0c45:8419 Microdia/Wivitouch USB Infrared Touchscreen no longer working under 14.04

2016-01-05 Thread Cesar Araujo
Hello Stephen.

Thanks in advance for the response.

When I say second batch it means the second purchase we made of 100
touch screens. We don’t buy them every day but we do use them every day
hundreds of times a day in kiosks, so when we buy, we buy in in batches
of 50 or 150. About now we have 300 touch screens working and the
"second batch" which was purchased November did not work. If I can help
making giving more information or running some commands or even some
code I will be glad.

Once again thanks in advance.

Which logs or debug information do you need?

Nope, this bug affects *only* linux-lts-trusty package found in Ubuntu
Precise. Bug was introduced in linux-lts-trusty. So why removed it from
package list?

[Bug 1531118] [NEW] Cannot reinstall a previously uninstalled application

2016-01-05 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Public bug reported:

current build number: 221
device name: krillin
channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/bq-aquaris.en

Test Case:
1. Go to the app store, and install an app (I install sudoku from Sylvain
Becker)
2. Upon installation, go to the app scope, and verify that the app is installed
3. Long press the app icon to go to the app details, and tap on 'uninstall'
4. Verify that the app no longer appear in the app scope
5. Go to the app store again, select the same app and try to re-install it.

Expected Result
The button 'Install' is displayed and the app can be installed

Actual Result
The button is labelled '0%' and is not clickable. The app cannot be resintalled.
The state is cleared after a reboot and the app can be installed.

[Bug 1228567] Re: at-spi2 daemon error messages in .xsession-errors

2016-01-05 Thread Apotessar
It seems that I encountered a problem similar to what Daniek C has. From
Jan. 1st my Fujitsu laptop SH782 running Ubuntu 14.04 repetitively fails
to start the working environment after I correctly enter the login
password. The login screen appears again and again.

According to the log files, I guess something wrong gets /usr/bin/X
terminated.

[Bug 1528759] Re: ISST-LTE: kdump service fails to start on Ubuntu14.04.4 lpar.

2016-01-05 Thread Louis Bouchard
Hello,

This is expected behavior. When an upstart job exists for a service,
which is the case for kdump-tools, the $ service command will execute
(see /usr/sbin/service) :

 $ status kdump-tools

On a systemd enabled system (Wily) you would get :

$ service kdump-tools status
● kdump-tools.service - Kernel crash dump capture service
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/kdump-tools.service; enabled; vendor
preset: enabled)
Active: active (exited) since mar. 2016-01-05 09:22:24 CET; 5h 41min ago
  Process: 3489 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/kdump-tools start (code=exited,
status=0/SUCCESS)
 Main PID: 3489 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
Tasks: 0 (limit: 512)
   Memory: 0B
  CPU: 0
   CGroup: /system.slice/kdump-tools.service

So I agree with the last comment : using kdump-config status is the way
to go.

[Bug 1357093] Re: Kernels not autoremoving, causing out of space error on LVM or Encrypted install

2016-01-05 Thread Achim Behrens
This really needs to be adressed ASAP.

The Support Communites are flooded by angry users with blocked
Packagesystems due to a full /boot blocking new kernels to be installed.

In this time, when we have 5TB HDDs and even 500GB SSDs, i really dont know why
we still need that small /boot partitions that it runs out of space that fast.
And having no automatic removing old kernels is another issue.

This really spoils the user experience, and non technical users really
dont know what to do and dont feel comfortable to delete files in /boot
manually. So best is do increase the /boot partition made on install and
have a post-install script running that removes old kernels.

[Bug 1529903] Re: Blank message in a group sms

2016-01-05 Thread Bill Filler
The issue I'm seeing is that the notification and messaging-menu entry
doesn't include the actual message. It just says "Message to group
from" but doesn't show the actual message. When opening it
in the messaging app the message is present

[Bug 1531016] Re: GridView that is inside tabs or pagestack on desktop judders when the header scrolls in/out

2016-01-05 Thread Tim Peeters
The problem occurs when the Page is changing its height when scrolling.
The problem does not occur though with a Flickable or ListView instead
of the GridView, or when there are no Tabs to hold the Page.

To work around this in the example code, you can set the width and
height of the Page to the width and height of the MainView.

[Bug 1523656] Re: Missing my-default.cnf Failing mysql_install_db

2016-01-05 Thread Tom importepeu
Hi,

We're using mysql-server 5.6 on Ubuntu Server 14.04.01. The package version is
5.6.27-0ubuntu0.14.04.1. I saw that this bug was fixed in release 5.6.23 but
this bug also appears with 5.6.27 :
--
$ mysql_install_db --datadir=/home/mysql/data --basedir=/usr --keep-my-cnf
FATAL ERROR: Could not find my-default.cnf

If you compiled from source, you need to run 'make install' to
copy the software into the correct location ready for operation.

If you are using a binary release, you must either be at the top
level of the extracted archive, or pass the --basedir option
pointing to that location.
--
Indeed a my-defaut.cnf file exists in the package at
/usr/share/doc/mysql-server-5.6/examples/my-default.cnf which is not parsed by
the find_in_basedir function of mysql_install_db perl script :
my $cfg_template= find_in_basedir($opt,"file","my-default.$cnfext",
  ".", "share","share/mysql","support-files");

This file is supposed to exist in /usr/share/mysql which is not in
mysql-server-5.6 package release 5.6.27-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
Regards,
Tom.
