[Bug 1522316] Re: Icons are too big
What is the status of this bug? The current 16.04 still has huge desktop icons and no way to make them smaller. The Nautilus icon size options are also way too limited. The smallest setting is too small and both larger settings are too big for list mode. Reducing the options to three sizes is a big mistake IMHO. Where we used to have slowly increasing resolutions on computer screens the high res screens today are twice the resolution of main stream screens. If anything we need more options than before. Unity allows pixel sizes for the launcher icons and Nautilus chooses to dumb down. Together with the unfortunate choice of making Nautilus another horrible CSD window desktop usability has taken a huge plunge in 16.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1522316 Title: Icons are too big To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1522316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: The clipping of the Page not to overlap with the AppHeader (which has transparent background) was removed in this MR: https://code.launchpad.net/~zsombi/ubuntu-ui- toolkit/bottomEdge/+merge/278336 So in the AdaptivePageLayout, the Page contents, and the header contents may now overlap, and because the AppHeader has no background, that is wrong. [Bug 1285044] Re: every times browser showing untrusted connection, why/

[Bug 1285044] Re: every times browser showing untrusted connection, why/
Just going by the title, I am similarly effected. This is a new install of 15.10, (Gnome). I can access sites fine from other machines on the LAN, but my new install tells me that all connections are untrusted. I have also installed chromium browser and I have the same problem. For both, if I allow the exception, I can get through fine. (Though not to google.com which doesn't allow security exceptions, apparently.) I have checked /etc/ssl/certs, and all looks fine. (There is, at least, a long list of certs there.) So, this is not a firefox issue. It's something deeper. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1285044 Title: every times browser showing untrusted connection,why/ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1285044/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1505564] Re: Soft lockup with "block nbdX: Attempted send on closed socket" spam
This problem has caused more serious damage recently. When nbd dies and printk()s like mad, the serial console is not fast enough to display it. The kernel keeps allocating buffer space for serial output, which we see as 13G kmalloc-256 or kmalloc-512 kernel threads. Eventually the OOMkiller tries to free up space, but it can only kill userspace programs so ultimately the system dies altogether. But I guess it is in some non accelerated graphics mode. * Kubuntu 15.10, uname: 4.2.0-23-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Sun Dec 27 17:47:31 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux. * AMD Radeon R5 M255, using fglrx-updates ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+7ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.2.0-23.28-generic 4.2.6 Uname: Linux 4.2.0-23-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx ApportVersion: 2.19.1-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Wed Jan 6 09:59:24 2016 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: wily DistroVariant: kubuntu DkmsStatus: fglrx-updates-core, 15.201, 4.2.0-19-generic, x86_64: installed fglrx-updates-core, 15.201, 4.2.0-21-generic, x86_64: installed fglrx-updates-core, 15.201, 4.2.0-22-generic, x86_64: installed fglrx-updates-core, 15.201, 4.2.0-23-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: I just need to know a workaround GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0a16] (rev 0b) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:2248] Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:224a] InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-10-23 (74 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 15.10 "Wily Werewolf" - Release amd64 (20151021) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP ProBook 450 G2 ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.2.0-23-generic root=UUID=c9e0c6ee-c8a4-4d1a-a46e-a3b79c38f774 ro recovery nomodeset Renderer: Software SourcePackage: xorg UdevLog: Error: [Errno 2] Adresář nebo soubor neexistuje: '/var/log/udev' UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 09/20/2014 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: M74 Ver. 01.05 dmi.board.name: 2248 dmi.board.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.board.version: KBC Version 67.22 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrM74Ver.01.05:bd09/20/2014:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPProBook450G2:pvrA3008CD10003:rvnHewlett-Packard:rn2248:rvrKBCVersion67.22:cvnHewlett-Packard:ct10:cvr: dmi.product.name: HP ProBook 450 G2 dmi.product.version: A3008CD10003 dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard version.compiz: compiz N/A version.fglrx-installer: fglrx-installer N/A version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.64-1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 11.0.2-1ubuntu4 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 11.0.2-1ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.17.2-1ubuntu9.1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.9.2-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.5.0+git20150819-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.917+git20150808-0ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.11-1ubuntu3 xserver.bootTime: Wed Jan 6 09:49:37 2016 xserver.configfile: default xserver.logfile: /var/log/Xorg.0.log xserver.version: 2:1.17.2-1ubuntu9.1 ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug kubuntu wily ** Attachment added: "screenshot: this is on screen when the computer freezes" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531439/+attachment/4544821/+files/screenshot-stuck-after-kernel-upgrade.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531439 Title: Freeze after kernel upgrade to 4.0.23 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1531439/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1531465] [NEW] /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup is overwritten on updates
Public bug reported: The /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup file is automatically and silently overwritten when sddm is updated, removing any modifications the user may have made to the file. This is a pain because it requires the file to be re-edited after every update if the user needs to launch something (a VNC server, for example) from Xsetup. Instead, this file should probably be handled like other configuration files (asking the user whether to keep or replace the file). ** Affects: sddm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531465 Title: /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup is overwritten on updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sddm/+bug/1531465/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1307619] Re: All Qt5 applications' menu bar is missing at non-Unity DEs after appmenu-qt5 installed
Hi. This bug of absence of menu bar affects also the usage of OPENSCAD when used under ubuntu 14-04 and gnome-shell. OPENSCAD menu bar is accessible under Ubuntu14-04 UNITY (or METACITY ...) with appmenu-qt5 installed. But, under gnome-shell+Ubuntu14-04, with appmenu-qt5 installed, the menu bar is not accessible (no menu bar at all). However, under gnome-shell+ubuntu14-04, uninstalling appmenu-qt5 allows to access to the menu of OPENSCAD. The menu bar is present. However, the behaviour to acess to sub-items of menu bar, works in 2 steps: 1/ clic one time on the item menu does not show the subitem; 2/ reclic again on the same menu item allows to get the subitems. And, with appmenu-qt5 uninstalled under Ubuntu14-04 UNITY, the menu bar is still visible and accessible, but its behaviour to access to sub-items is also changed (in 2 clic instead of 1 clic). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307619 Title: All Qt5 applications' menu bar is missing at non-Unity DEs after appmenu-qt5 installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lyx/+bug/1307619/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1531478] [NEW] Browsers apparently not finding certs in Wiley new install
Public bug reported: New install of 15.10, (Gnome). (There is, at least, a long list of certs there.)
