[Bug 1546328] Re: Systray option does not work.

2016-02-29 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
@Ross: The difference between Debian and Xubuntu is that the latter has
an indicators-based tray, so Qt tries to use that too.

Anyway, have you tested if the bug still occurs with the latest qtbase
upload? If that is the case, I will try to look at it.

As a temporary workaround, try installing appmenu-qt5 package (after
logout/login the bug should be gone).

[Bug 1550050] Re: repeating phantom key when bt disconnects

2016-02-29 Thread Simon Fels
Generally I don't think this is because of a lacking key event. If the
keyboard goes away also its corresponding input device node will
disappear. If that happens the upper input stack should take care about
that. Adding mir as component here too to get their view on this while
doing some more investigation.

[Bug 1457353] Re: Software Updater freezes when trying to upgrade grub-pc package

2016-02-29 Thread Marc Hunter
I am running it inside a virtualbox vm - and it always killed my VM. I then
ran it from terminal as per this link:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/196768/how-to-install-updates-via-command-line

and it comes up with this msg, which is what I presume is freezing it:

Package configuration

 ┌──┤ Configuring grub-pc ├──┐
 │ │
│ The GRUB boot loader was previously installed to a disk that is no│
│ longer present, or whose unique identifier has changed for some reason. │
│ It is important to make sure that the installed GRUB core image stays in │
│ sync with GRUB modules and grub.cfg. Please check again to make sure │
│ that GRUB is written to the appropriate boot devices. │
 │ │
│ If you're unsure which drive is designated as boot drive by your BIOS,│
│ it is often a good idea to install GRUB to all of them. │
 │ │
│ Note: it is possible to install GRUB to partition boot records as well, │
│ and some appropriate partitions are offered here. However, this forces│
│ GRUB to use the blocklist mechanism, which makes it less reliable, and│
 │ therefore is not recommended.

and then

┌───┤ Configuring grub-pc ├───┐
│ GRUB install devices: │

│[ ] - /dev/sda1 (33130 MB; /)│

In case that helps

[Bug 1551566] [NEW] gnome-session logs out with Fatal IO error 11

2016-02-29 Thread Thomas Mayer
Public bug reported:

My desktop just froze and I could not press any keys.

When I tried CTRL+ALT+F1 I got logged out from my gnome session and the

There's some messages in my syslog, e.g. gdk-warning gnome-session fatal
io error 11 (resource temporarily unavailable) on x server

Plus, the syslog indicates that dbus service has gone ("Unable to

[Bug 1523088]

2016-02-29 Thread Aljaz Prusnik
Happens also on a brand new XPS 15 9550 laptop. I tried also today's
kernel git (with some drm fixes for i915).

System is installed anew with Debian testing up-to-date, latest kernel
code and intel video driver 2:2.99.917+git20160218-1.

Symptoms:
- system boots (lightdm)
- laptop screen blinks like crazy, monitor picture is ok (Dell P2715Q, HDMI
connection)
- after logging-in everything freezes - I have to turn-off computer.

What I do to make it work:
- boot without HDMI plugged-in
- after log-in, plug-in HDMI and then I have stable environment.

This is the trace I found in syslog:

2016-02-29 Thread sunweb
I also have the same bug on a notebook with Kbubutnu 14.04.4.
Intel and AMD graphics. I can't even boot properly.
"gpu-manager blocked for more than 120 seconds" After this message appears in
console even tty1 won't work. Using 4.2.0-27 boots fine.

2016-02-29 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

ensuring you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes

I can confirm the bug still exists in Trusty, and I just tried a Wily
live image and it exists there, too. The affected hardware is getting a
bit old but still seems to work fine with Ubuntu in all other ways.

As I am not Id2ndR should I run apport-collect on a new bug and mark it
as a duplicate of this one?

[Bug 1404358]

2016-02-29 Thread Emad Khazraee
I am using LibreOffice Version: 5.1.0.3 Build ID:
1:5.1.0~rc3-0ubuntu1~trusty0; the bug is still there. It is almost five
years that I am checking this bug and it has never been resolved. Folks
here saying that "the bug has been fixed since LibO 4.3.5," it has not
been the case for me. I installed all new updates; installed it fresh
for every single major update since 4.3. The bug is still there and it
is very annoying. It does not exist in Impress or Draw, it only affects
Writer.

I am using LibreOffice as my main productivity suite and I usually have
diagrams and images that I need to put an arrow or circle on it to show
a specific feature in the image. I cannot group them in Writer. Every
time, I have to insert the image and the drawing element in Impress or
Draw, select and group them there; then copy and paste it in Writer.

I think it is a major problem. I am a devoted Libreoffice user. I wrote
my 350 page PhD dissertation in LibreOffice and this very bug was a pain
in the rear end every single time.

I hope someone resolve this issue once for ever. As it simply works in
Impress and Draw!

> I am using LibreOffice Version: 5.1.0.3 Build ID:

Hi Seakha,

Sorry to read that you have problems with this. And thanks for checking
and reporting.

Now looking at the original report:

(In reply to Regina Henschel from comment #0)
> Created attachment 47570 [details]
> Testdocument for shift+click
>
> Open attached document click on first rectangle. Then shift+click on second
> rectangle.
> Expected: Both rectangles are selected together.
> Seen: The selection jumps to the picture.

This simply works for me in 5.0.5.2 on Ubuntu (thus didn't bother to check
other versions.)
Therefor I expect your problem to be a (bit) different. Could you please open a
new issue with clear description of the steps and test document as attachment?

(And even if the same problem would have occurred, there would have been
another underlying problem probably, thus also then a new issue is the
way to go :) )

Closing again..

[Bug 262507] Re: Named cells are not color-coded in cell-edit mode

2016-02-29 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
** Description changed:

  1) lsb_release -rd
- Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch)
- Release: 11.10
+  Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch)
+  Release: 11.10

  2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc
  libreoffice-calc:
- Installed: 1:3.4.2-2ubuntu3
- Candidate: 1:3.4.2-2ubuntu3
- Version table:
- *** 1:3.4.2-2ubuntu3 0
- 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
- 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
+   Installed: 1:3.4.2-2ubuntu3
+   Candidate: 1:3.4.2-2ubuntu3
+   Version table:
+  *** 1:3.4.2-2ubuntu3 0
+ 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
+ 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  3) What is expected to happen with a cell containing the formula:

  =a*tau^t*delta^(d-1)*(l*delta^l - d)

where a, tau, delta, d, and l are all named cells or cell-ranges, hit
'F2' to edit that formula, the usual nice trick of color-coded cell
  names and ranges shows.

  4) What happens instead is they do not. One has no way of quickly seeing
whether or not the correct values from other cells in the worksheet are
  picked.
+
+ Gnumeric 1.12.27-1 doesn't show this either.
+
+ Opening the file up in Excel 2013 causes it to crash, and claim the
+ document is corrupt.

In my case, I should elaborate that the colour highlight appear for less
than a second, than disappear suddenly.

[Bug 1549942] Re: php-imagick failing autopkgtests

2016-02-29 Thread Nish Aravamudan
@Steve, updated the diff, thanks for catching that!

Note that even so, php-imagick won't pass the tests. I've got debdiff
I'm testing now that will at least get it to run the tests correctly
with phpunit. I'm seeing 3-4 segmentation faults that I can't fully
figure out (but seems like sort of a well known issue with imagemagick
and particularly, possibly, with php-imagick, which relies on having
well-defined version numbering which Debian & Ubuntu break (backports
applied without changing the version #)). I'm not sure the best way
forward on this, but it does appear that Debian has the same issue, at
least. And I'm working on narrowing down those failing tests and should
have a final debdiff by tomorrow.
