[Bug 1551283] Re: ibus/im-config in Ubuntu GNOME
I've still not tested, but those patches look mostly fine from GNOME side. However not really sure if the Flashback stuff is correct (edubuntu guys maintain that), but note on flashback is now using XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME-Flashback:Unity It is still using unity-settings-daemon/unity-control-center and presumably language-selector-gnome, so I guess it just uses the same config as Unity does? Now I wouldnt be surprised if there are snippets of code all over the place that don't support the above format, since they never broke on core ubuntu desktop. Otherwise +if os.environ.get('XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP')[-5:] in ['Unity', 'MATE', 'GNOME'] \ + or locale.getlocale(locale.LC_CTYPE)[0][:3] in ['zh_', 'ja_', 'ko_', 'vi_']: os.environ.get('XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP').split(':')[-1] Would seem a little safer with the know use-cases ++if [ "$XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP" = 'Unity' -o "$XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP" = 'MATE' -o "${XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP##*:}" = 'GNOME' ]; then that won't match for Flashback (I don't know if its meant to though?) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551283 Title: ibus/im-config in Ubuntu GNOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1551283/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1551283] Re: ibus/im-config in Ubuntu GNOME
Thank you very much Gunnar, the latest PPA changes work as expected for me in gnome-flashback, i.e. ibus isn't running and I can type Greek just fine. What you have in the PPA is a good compromise for 16.04, please keep it that way. For the future, post 16.04, I'll try to raise the issue in Debian's im-config, so that there's no need to have an Ubuntu debdiff (or to minimize it). I.e. I will ask that ibus isn't running in locales where it's not needed, because: 1) It's causing issues (some of them will be solved in time) 2) It's wasting 20 MB of non-shared RAM (echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches; free; killall ibus-daemon; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches; free), which is an issue in multi-user systems like LTSP thin clients. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551283 Title: ibus/im-config in Ubuntu GNOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1551283/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1435706] Re: DevLossTO, FastIoFailTO settings do not match multipath.conf expected values
Okay, sorry about the irrelevant verification on Vivid then. But I'd like to point out that Trusty behaves exactly the same, i.e., the bug is *not* fixed. Using the exact same multipath.conf as I mentioned in comment #31 with multipath-tools on 0.4.9-3ubuntu7.9, I get the exact same behaviour. That is, it is apparent that multipathd does read the settings from the config file (as they're visible in output from "multipathd -k'show config'"), but they're not being applied/written to sysfs. If I run use the command line utility in verbose mode to create the map, it does claim that it opens the sysfs files in question, but strace shows no sign of that actually happening: root@ucstest:~# /etc/init.d/multipath-tools stop * Stopping multipath daemon multipathd [ OK ] root@ucstest:~# multipath -F root@ucstest:~# strace -ff -eopen multipath -v4 |& egrep 'create:|_tmo' Mar 08 07:48:38 | 3600c0ff0001204a9d12b75510100: fast_io_fail_tmo = 16 (controller default) Mar 08 07:48:38 | 3600c0ff0001204a9d12b75510100: dev_loss_tmo = 2048 (controller default) Mar 08 07:48:38 | open '/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/:04:00.0/:05:01.0/:07:00.0/host1/rport-1:0-1/fc_remote_ports/rport-1:0-1'/'dev_loss_tmo' ort-1:0-1'/'fast_io_fail_tmo' Mar 08 07:48:38 | open '/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/:04:00.0/:05:01.0/:07:00.0/host1/rport-1:0-2/fc_remote_ports/rport-1:0-2'/'dev_loss_tmo' Mar 08 07:48:38 | open '/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/:04:00.0/:05:01.0/:07:00.0/host1/rport-1:0-2/fc_remote_ports/rport-1:0-2'/'fast_io_fail_tmo' Mar 08 07:48:38 | open '/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/:04:00.0/:05:02.0/:08:00.0/host2/rport-2:0-1/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-1'/'dev_loss_tmo' Mar 08 07:48:38 | open '/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/:04:00.0/:05:02.0/:08:00.0/host2/rport-2:0-1/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-1'/'fast_io_fail_tmo' Mar 08 07:48:38 | open '/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/:04:00.0/:05:02.0/:08:00.0/host2/rport-2:0-2/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-2'/'dev_loss_tmo' Mar 08 07:48:38 | open '/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/:02:00.0/:03:00.0/:04:00.0/:05:02.0/:08:00.0/host2/rport-2:0-2/fc_remote_ports/rport-2:0-2'/'fast_io_fail_tmo' create: 3600c0ff0001204a9d12b75510100 undef HP ,P2000G3 FC/iSCSI Note that this is a lab system, so if you'd like, you can have a look yourself, Mathieu. [Bug 1554166] Re: Downloads changelogs for non desktop components
This one might be tricky to fix. GNOME Software requests all the information about installed apps before removing invalid entries. So the best solution is to make GNOME Software smarter in when it requests changelog information. Other improvements that will help: - Downloading the changelogs in parallel - Skipping entries based on the dpkg section, e.g. ignoring libs. (It's hard to work out from the APT plugin if a given .deb has appstream information). ** Changed in: gnome-software (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1554166 Title: Downloads changelogs for non desktop components To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1554166/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1554371] [NEW] [Regression] Volume keys not working after suspend/resume

I had performed these two commands some days ago: echo "options rtl8723be swenc=1 fwlps=0 ips=0" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be.conf echo 'KERNEL=="wlan0", RUN+="/sbin/iwconfig wlan0 txpower 18"' | sudo tee -a /etc/udev/rules.d/75-wlan.rules Without these commands wifi connection was not working after resuming from suspend. Some additional information: By the way, Bluetooth does not work totally, and do not work combinations of key: Fn+F1, Fn+F2, Fn+F5, Fn+F6, Fn+F7, Fn+F8, Fn+F9, Fn+Enter. Fn+F10, Fn+F11, Fn+F12 — work. This is control of sound. I tried 'xev'. There is no any reaction, no key codes, no any changes on screen. [Bug 1551858] Re: [bluetooth] Connecting to Apple BT keyboard fails due to PIN prompt
Because what pairing method is selected is chosen further down the stack so settings only reacts on what bluez tells it should do. I suspect the keyboard uses pairing capability KeyboardOnly which then should lead to passkey entry where the initiator displays and the responder inputs the PIN (we use KeyboardDisplay) [see Core spec 4.0 page 1968]. However the described dialog on your side is incorrect as it just asks the user to confirm or cancel which could still be an settings app issue just displaying the dialog but also an issue down the stack. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551858 Title: [bluetooth] Connecting to Apple BT keyboard fails due to PIN prompt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1551858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1551858] Re: [bluetooth] Connecting to Apple BT keyboard fails due to PIN prompt

Also note that there are already several different directions into which this bug has been taken. Hi Paul Sorry for the delay and thanks for looking into it. Good catch on the postrm. At least I know that's my fault. That being said, I wonder if unregistering the file actually explains why it doesn't get re-created. The funny thing here is that this is the first time it actually does something similar (not creating the file), and the packaging hasn;'t really change in that area. I'm gonna try to reproduce what you suggest with touching the file and see whether things get resolved with the fix to postrm.. Thanks!
