[Bug 1542939] Re: system freeze after vt switching
This bug affects the 4.4 kernel, including the xenial kernel and the lts-xenial kernel in trusty. The linked freedesktop bug report mentions that the bug was fixed in the 4.5 kernel with the following commit, http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git/ubuntu/linux.git/commit/?id=92826fcdfc147a7d16766e987c12a9dfe1860c3f The commit was not backported to the 4.4 kernel, and is not present in the xenial kernel. I initially tested the 4.5 mainline kernel and found that it does fix the bug. I then attempted to apply the aforementioned commit to the xenial kernel and found that it does not apply cleanly. By including two earlier patches I was able to get it to apply (with minor porting). But the resultant kernel did not fix the bug. Details: The two earlier patches are: drm/i915/ivb: Move WaCxSRDisabledForSpriteScaling w/a to atomic check, d21fbe87ce18297af0a9b7cc0cd545fd9ac28d33 drm/i915: Move disable_cxsr to the crtc_state, ab1d3a0e5a44f5b1a8d1f811e925c8519b56fba4 ** Patch removed: "drm/i915: Calculate watermark related members in the crtc_state, v4." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1542939/+attachment/4639342/+files/patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1542939 Title: system freeze after vt switching To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1542939/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1442568] Re: Docker causes a segfault when starting containers
OK, I just wondered if there were additional details. I looked at aufs_utils, and it look like the problem is with the AUFin macro (au_util.h)which is #define AuFin(fmt, ...) \ error_at_line(errno, errno, __FILE__, __LINE__, fmt, ##__VA_ARGS__) I think this should be: #define AuFin(fmt, ...) \ error_at_line(1, errno, __FILE__, __LINE__, fmt, ##__VA_ARGS__) The value 1 for the status parameter would always ensure program termination rather than the current situation where it will continue (if errno == 0) and proceed to segfault or some other crash. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1442568 Title: Docker causes a segfault when starting containers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aufs-tools/+bug/1442568/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1574955] [NEW] iSCSI sanboot failed with multiple NICs
Public bug reported: My computer has multiple Intel NICs, but only 1 connected. I configured this one to boot from iSCSI. I could install Ubuntu 14.04 on the iSCSI disk successfully. But after the reboot, the process stopped after getting IP address of all NICs. The attachment is the screenshot. I check the /run folder, there was no net-*.conf indeed. But if I run the 'ipconfig eth0' manually, the /run/net-eth0.conf appeared. And I could run /scripts/local-top/iscsi and continue the boot process. I did another try after connecting all NICs, and the process passed with few retry of getting IP. So I think the getting IP process has a bug, it cannot get IP of multiple NICs concurrently if any of them cannot get IP via DHCP or have no link. ** Affects: open-iscsi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "2016-04-20_15-34-24_Ubuntu-iscsi-bootup.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574955/+attachment/4647403/+files/2016-04-20_15-34-24_Ubuntu-iscsi-bootup.jpg ** Package changed: partman-iscsi (Ubuntu) => open-iscsi (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574955 Title: iSCSI sanboot failed with multiple NICs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/open-iscsi/+bug/1574955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Could you share > your dmesg log with drm.debug=0x1e for further analysis, please. Posted. I rebooted into the stock 4.5.1 kernel (direct from the Arch repository) with drm.debug=0x1e added to the kernel command line, logged in, suspended, resumed, and dumped the log with journalctl. I took a quick check through and didn't see any messages that indicated any sort of failure after the suspend operation. However there are a lot of messages in there, so I could have missed something. What I do know is that after the resume from suspend, I get something on the order of a 2 Hz flicker on the display that looks like the eDP link is flapping - i.e. there is tearing that affects the bottom portion of the display more than the top due to the link going down in the middle of a frame, portions of the display are briefly distorted or colored strangely, etc. None of this happens on 4.1.21, which is where I will stay until this gets a proper fix in the mainline. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1522922 Title: Screen flickering in Intel i915 driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nouveau/+bug/1522922/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1574189] Re: Memory leak in BOINC Manager
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1532226 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1532226 At this time I'm inclined to regard this as a separate bug not directly related to the gdk menu bar problem. They appeared at the same time, but that was just because of the upgrade. Not sure how to prove that until I hear that Bug #1532226 has been closed and I see whether or not the problematic behavior persists. Optimistically, this bug just reflects a fairly substantial reduction in free memory under 16.04. Pessimistically, there's a memory leak that is most visible with long- running tasks such as BOINC units. I've tweaked the BOINC memory settings on the optimistic assumption. Re: [Bug 1574944] [NEW] On 16.04, neither lxc nor lxd containers with 14.04 run docker
This is not a lxd bug. You need the docker source as is packaged in 16.04. To run that in a 14.04 container, you might be able to build the 16.04 package in a ppa for 14.04, but I've not tried it. [Bug 1532226] Re: No menu bar in gtk apps on fresh boot
About 90% sure this is the same as a bug I tried to report earlier, but is there any test to be sure? I have a couple of peculiar observations that might help in the diagnosis and cure... Suspending seemed to fix it, at least temporarily. Before that there was nothing random about it. There were never any menus except for Firefox. No mention of the Appearance setting to stop the dynamic behavior of the menus. I switched it to static, and haven't seen it since then. I'm still wondering if this bug might be related to memory problems that BOINC Manager started having after the upgrade, but right now I think they are separate problems. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1532226 Title: No menu bar in gtk apps on fresh boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/1532226/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1574944] [NEW] On 16.04, neither lxc nor lxd containers with 14.04 run docker
Public bug reported: On a Ubuntu 16.04 server amd64 host, docker does not work inside of a (lxc or lxd) Ubuntu 14.04 guest. I tested on both a clean Ubuntu 16.04 install and also one that was upgraded from Ubuntu 15.10. My definition of work is having the expected result when running --- sudo docker run hello-world --- If the guest containers is also Ubuntu 16.04, it works out of the box. The images were made either using lxc-create -t download -n test01 -- -d ubuntu -r trusty -a amd64 or on lxd following the syntax from https://www.stgraber.org/2016/03/11/lxd-2-0-introduction-to-lxd-112/ Just for further reference, If the host is 15.10, one can have docker inside of LXC containers if one does the following: a) on the host: add this to /etc/lxc/default.conf lxc.aa_profile = unconfined lxc.cgroup.devices.allow = a lxc.cap.drop = sudo mv /usr/share/lxc/config/common.conf.d/00-lxcfs.conf /usr/share/lxc/config/common.conf.d/00-lxcfs.conf.disabled iptables -L # really. this loads modules that the docker install needs to be happy ip6tables -L # really. this loads modules that the docker install needs to be happy create the guest with something like lxc-create -t download -n test01 -- -d ubuntu -r trusty -a amd64 b) on the guest sudo apt-get install curl apparmor cgroup-lite curl -fsSL https://get.docker.com/ | sudo sh # the docker from apt- get install docker.io does not work, sudo docker run hello-world I personally consider this bug very important because 15.10 will be unsupported in July, so not upgrading will become an insecure choice to make. If there is any way I can help you, please let me know.
