We can get back the unit tests, if you feel strongly about it. However we have an integration suite, and it's purpose is to exercise snapcraft and all its dependencies. IMO, if we fail to catch a regression in one of the depenencies, that means that we are missing an integration test, not a unit test. But as I said, I'm ok with reverthing the change. I too can confirm the presence of this bug, and that the symlink fix worked. But not only that, I now not only have previews for my videos but also for PDF files, as well as fonts, which appeared as black boxes in Dolphin prior to applying the symlink fix. The issues with the fonts was supposed to have been fixed in KDE5.6 (pardon me whilst I am struggling to remember the correct name), but after my upgrade via backports, that issue remained a problem for me (I looked but can't seem to find the report for that bug). This is now in lp:lightdm. To make an in-session greeter you need to set X-LightDM-Allow-Greeter=true in the session .desktop file. Then you can run a greeter using liblightdm from inside that session. Only one greeter is allowed at once. Any process from the logged in user can connect (so there is a denial of service risk if the correct process doesn't get the socket first or loses it). Your opinion disagres with the xfce4-settings documentation: http://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/display See section "Primary display": "Check this option to provide a hint to panels, docks and the desktop that the selected display is the primary display." If you want panels on every monitor you could choose not to have a primary display selected. Your proposed behavior anyway is not user friendly. After configuring your primary monitor in xfce4-settings you have to enter the panel settings again and configure the monitor where you want the panel. If this is true for each software (panel, docks, icons) you have a lot of configuration to do when you plug in a larger monitor (but only on your right, if the monitor is on the left you're a lucky guy). Removing NetworkManager is not necessary. However, I still think the bug
is NetworkManager. The MAC address cannot be changed while the interface
is up. The MAC address can be manually changed while NetworkManager is
running by disabling wireless in NetworkManager, and using a command
like the following to change the MAC address, before bringing wireless
back up and connecting:
ip link set dev "${interface}" address "${macaddr}"
I'm not sure if the kernel previously allowed MAC addresses to change
while the interface was up, or if NetworkManager previously brought
interfaces down, but either way, I think it's NetworkManager's
responsibility to bring the interface down before attempting a change in
the MAC address.
The reason seandepagnier's removal of NetworkManager works is because
the interfaces are down by default when a daemon like NetworkManager is
not active, so the MAC address changed with no problem.

Dear Robert, Good question. I discovered that the PyQt5 I had in the Lubuntu machine was from pip3. It's still broken in ubuntu 16.04. The problem is not wpa_supplicant. Using the afore-mentioned PPA in a 16.04 LXD container, I did: `apt-get install zabbix-server-mysql zabbix-frontend-php` I then followed /usr/share/doc/zabbix-server-mysql/README.Debian to populate the database. I then followed /usr/share/doc/zabbix-frontend-php/README.Debian to configure the fronted. This document specifically mentions needing to install php-mysql to use MySQL, so I did that as well. I was able to proceed through all the screens at http:///zabbix/setup.php until the last, which threw an error about creating the configuration file. I downloaded the provided instead and saved its contents to /etc/zabbix/zabbix.conf.php and the install was able to conclude. I was able to login and see the dashboard. I have little knowledge of zabbix itself, but this much does work. I was just discussing this on IRC. There is not a good way to deal with this (aiui), as the dependency that needs to be expressed is a runtime configuration one. That is, zabbix-frontend-php correctly depends (in 16.04+) on (php-pgsql | php-mysql | php-sqlite3). But there is not a way for zabbix-frontend-php itself to know which of those are needed locally, and the default is to use the first alternative (php-pgsql in this case).
