[Bug 1606743] Re: Font Viewer desktop file does not launch gnome-font-viewer
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1606743/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1606763] [NEW] Recently, when FF starts up, not all of the restored windows/tabs are the most recent ones.
Public bug reported: With the latest FF (or perhaps one version before?) a weird thing happens when I start up my FF profile: Once all the windows and tabs are loaded, and I peruse the list of windows in my bottom panel, I will see things that were NOT as I left them when I shut FF down last. Ex. I see that one window has the focus tab (the one tab per window that actually gets loaded when FF starts up) has the text "BBQ Crock Pot..." This is a recipe that I no longer need, and have deleted - several times. The 4 tabs that follow that tab I also deleted. I have just deleted them again, but I know that when I start FF tomorrow, THERE they will be again... Next, there is a tab labeled "Rochester Gas..." a site where I can find low gas prices here in Rochester, NY. Now I know that when I leave this window, I leave it on the Weather tab almost every time. Probably once in the last couple of weeks it was on the gas prices tab when I shut FF down. Apparently THAT was the day that FF keeps resurrecting (for that window, at least...) Another window tab shows the correct tab, Google Translate, but when I go there to translate something, the text that it resurrects from "the last time" is actually from several sessions (maybe a week?) before (and naturally, it is something embarrassing that I wouldn't want people to see...! Of course.) Although it has finally gone away, there was one time that I opened up a window to look up probably 8 to 10 things on the same subject, finished with them, deleted the tabs, and then the window - but then had the window/tabs reappear every time FF loaded, perhaps for the next 4-5 days. --- Basically - something changed in FF that causes it to not load the most recent windows/tabs, but some earlier set. Now... this could mean that when shut down, FF IS saving the windows and tabs, but not loading the most recent set when re-starting OR FF is not always saving windows/tabs every time it shuts down, but is resurrecting the most recent copy it has available... Those are the two scenarios that I have thought up, but of course there are probably others... --- [NOTE: before I invoked ubuntu-bug to file this report, there was a weird problem that caused Amazon.com pages to display improperly and be almost unresponsive (memory problem? FF problem? Amazon problem? - who knows...) Anyway, I decided it would be good to shut FF down and restart. Apparently FF crashed during the shut-down (I had to delete .parentlock before I could restart the profile). So ubuntu-bug probably will have pulled in stuff that relates to that crash, that will have nothing to do with the bug I am reporting, as it is not a crash - merely weird behavior. ] scott@scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-Plus:~$ uname -a Linux scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-Plus 4.4.0-31-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 13 00:06:14 UTC 2016 i686 athlon i686 GNU/Linux scott@scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-Plus:~$ lsb_release -dsc Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS xenial scott@scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-Plus:~$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION Lubuntu ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: firefox 47.0+build3-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-31.50-generic 4.4.13 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-31-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: scott 1240 F...m pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: scott 1240 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC2: scott 1240 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: scott 1240 F pulseaudio BuildID: 20160606113900 Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: LXDE Date: Tue Jul 26 23:25:47 2016 DefaultProfileIncompatibleExtensions: English (South Africa) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org English (GB) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org Default - {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} DefaultProfilePlugins: Shockwave Flash - /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so DefaultProfilePrefSources: prefs.js ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-05-05 (83 days ago) InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release i386 (20160420.1) IpRoute: default via 192.168.0.1 dev enp0s7 192.168.0.0/24 dev enp0s7 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.2 MostRecentCrashID: bp-44f9dd73-a7cd-4e42-bc1b-3aa0f2160727 PciNetwork: Profile1IncompatibleExtensions: Global Menu Bar integration - globalm...@ubuntu.com English (South Africa) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org English (GB) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org Default - {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} Profile1PrefSources: prefs.js Profile2Extensions: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing Profile2IncompatibleExtensions: Unavailable (corrupt or non-existant

Installed Xenial 16.04 via debootstrap so I couldhave a zfs root/boot and somehow hit this problem and couldn't figure it out right away. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! [This is an automated message. [Bug 1059872] Re: Error formatting disk using disk utility
This bug has been in existence for years. I just loaded up a new install of Ubuntu 16.04 and ran into this. I also cannot use my DVD drive because every time I put a disc in I get an error that the disk is already mounted. I used dconf-editor and disabled the automount features and rebooted. No good. I'm beginning to believe that Ubuntu is a total crap system. Bugs hang around for years and never get fixed. You install the OS on a new computer and basic features don't EFFING WORK. It really is ridiculous. After 13 years of using Linux every day you'd think I would have learned by now. [Bug 1594585] Re: [needs packaging] budgie-wallpapers
Thank you for updating the package! A native package is fine here. I have one thing I'd like you to fix before I'll upload: Your debian/copyright doesn't quite follow the format. 1. "The last paragraph that matches a particular file applies to it. More general paragraphs should therefore be given first, followed by more specific overrides." In other words, the Files: * section should be the first section not the last. 2. If you downloaded the file from a particular URL that lists the copyright, it might be nice to include it in a Comment section so that it's easier for someone that wanted to verify the file's license. 3. The names of Files in d/copyright need to match the actual file names. Therefore a section could look something like: Files: beauty_of_mandarins_by_erwan_hesry.jpg Copyright: Erwan Hesry Comment: http://... License: CC0 4. I think you should keep the Files: * copyright holders from ubuntu- wallpapers (Nathan McCallum, etc.) since they originally wrote the scripts included in the source but feel free to add your name to the list. Here's a few optional notes: 1. In debian/rules, the export DPKG_GENSYMBOLS_CHECK_LEVEL=4 is unnecessary since this package doesn't contain any shared libraries so it doesn't use symbols. (Yes I see that the ubuntu-wallpapers package does this and #1 above.) 2. Maybe you should regenerate po/budgie-wallpapers.pot 3. Did you see the contest/ folder in ubuntu-wallpapers? It adds a special wallpaper (identified in the GNOME Settings app by a small clock in the bottom right corner) that automatically rotates the listed wallpapers every 30 min. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1594585 Title: [needs packaging] budgie-wallpapers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1594585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1587808] Re: Ubuntu-emulator no network on latest image
@Dave Did you ever confirm my results per my last request in comment #11? It's looking more and more like I was mistaken, and that NM 1.2 may indeed be the culprit. I re-tested the emulator with the latest rc ( #27 ), and dropped a "manual" network-manager.override file in /etc/init. When I start the emulator, eth0 is properly configured as the default route, and networking is OK. If I then manually start network-manager, the default route disappears. It looks like there's code in NMDefaultRouteManager to remove pre-existing default routes, however the code does have logic to check if the route device is known, and only deletes it in certain circumstances. Unfortunately, there's little to no logging of this code path. I'll add some debug logs to the version of NM in silo 005, and re-test tomorrow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1587808 Title: Ubuntu-emulator no network on latest image To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1587808/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1604608] Re: ipv6 client causes errors in twisted.web
investigating this more, twisted's handling of ipv6 is fundamentally broken in some bad ways: 1) it allows "2001:db8::1:80" as an IP/Port combination, deciding that what you meant is [2001:db8::1]:80, rather than the default port on 2001:db8::1:80. 2001:db8::1:7f, on the other hand, means "default port on 2001:db8::1:7f. 2) if I have a hostname, it requires me to guess whether that will resolve to A or records, since I have to tell it which socket to create before I even know the answer (unless I look it up myself.) 2.1) Having said that, TCPClient doesn't even believe in ipv6 at all, as noted above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1604608 Title: ipv6 client causes errors in twisted.web To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/twisted/+bug/1604608/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1594585] Re: [needs packaging] budgie-wallpapers
Hi Jeremy, finally found some time to revisit this - sorry for the delay (was busy with the 16.04.1 release of budgie-remix) The team have chosen brand-new wallpapers for 16.04.1 - all under the CC0 license which according to debian & freedesktop is a nice license - completely public domain and allows commercial use (https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/). I've linked that in the debian/copyright I had a look at the ubuntu-gnome-wallpapers package version - it was 16.04.1 so I hope you don't mind, I made this package a native package and called it 16.04.1 The .xml.in I regenerated and like ubuntu-gnome-wallpapers simplified the names field to one word. The structure I know understand and have rejigged to support user upgrades without wiping their current wallpaper; so when we come to 16.10 we'll change the main "budgie-wallpapers" package to recommend the yakkety package and add a Suggests for the xenial package. Unusually ubuntu-gnome-wallpapers didnt seem to have a standard wallpaper named for all releases - so I've used the ubuntu-wallpapers approach (warty) - so our standard name will be Xplo for all releases. [Bug 910657] Re: CAPS LOCK as keyboard switch indicator does not change status during login time
Just updated to 16.04 LTS. It seems that greeter crashes and restarts when Capslock is pressed to switch languages and the languages doesn't change. This makes it impossible to login if keyboard layout indicator in menu bar is disabled. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/910657 Title: CAPS LOCK as keyboard switch indicator does not change status during login time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/910657/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
