I have the same problem with Mint 18 Sarah, based on Ubuntu 16.04 and Nvidia 361.42. [Bug 1612422] Re: QtCreator is flooding the system with DNS queries
Sounds like something in your container was causing some kind of DNS query loop, completely overwhelming the DNS server, causing it to drop requests and log that message. [Bug 1612492] [NEW] remounting breaks size reporting and rsync
Public bug reported: Sorry to resurrect an old bug, it looks like a fix applied a while back may end up breaking rsync. For reference, it looks like the decision in this bug fix was to pass on the encrypted file size on disk to stat calls looking at the unencrypted mount: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ecryptfs/+bug/390833 For reference, to reproduce: mkdir /mnt/raw mkdir /mnt/decrypted dd if=/dev/urandom of=file.out2 bs=1MB count=100 mount -t ecryptfs -o ecryptfs_passthrough=n,no_sig_cache,ecryptfs_cipher=aes,ecryptfs_key_bytes=16,ecryptfs_xattr,ecryptfs_enable_filename_crypto=y,passphrase_passwd=SECRET,ecryptfs_fnek_sig=SECRET /mnt/raw /mnt/decrypted rsync file.out2 /mnt/decrypted/ stat /mnt/decrypted/file.out2 # you get size 1 umount /mnt/decrypted/ mount -t ecryptfs -o ecryptfs_passthrough=n,no_sig_cache,ecryptfs_cipher=aes,ecryptfs_key_bytes=16,ecryptfs_xattr,ecryptfs_enable_filename_crypto=y,passphrase_passwd=SECRET,ecryptfs_fnek_sig=SECRET /mnt/raw /mnt/decrypted stat /mnt/decrypted/file.out2 # you get size 13840 What this means in practice is any additional rsyncs to that target after remounting will see the file size as different than the original, and issue a full new copy. My use case is ecryptfs over a remote file system, so rsync is no better than cp. Would it be possible to make file size reporting consistent, and reflective of the size of the file as a reader would see it? ** Affects: ecryptfs Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: rsync ** Also affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1612492 Title: remounting breaks size reporting and rsync To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ecryptfs/+bug/1612492/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 971018] Re: Auto-hide Unity Launcher will not reveal when mouse pushed to left side in VirtualBox or VMware
This is still happening on 16.10 as expected due to the previous setting of 'Opinion' the only way to work around this issue on VMWare Workstation is to change the setting under Edit->Preferences->Input Optimize mouse for games: Always. Disabling "Automatically grab and ungrab the mouse cursor." does not fix the issue. [Bug 1612388] Re: cannot remove device
The easiest way to do all of that is with "lxc config edit " which will start an editor that lets you edit all the container settings, including the list of profiles that are applied to it, container configuration and the list of devices. You can absolutely do "lxc profile edit " and copy/paste the bits you want into your container's configuration which will then be overriding the profile. At that point, removing that device from the profile wouldn't affect the container anymore. You can also just drop the profile from that container if you wish. Containers can have as many profiles as you want applied to them. Those are ordered and override each other whenever an entry with an existing name is found. Then finally whatever is in the container's own configuration is used to override everything that came through profiles. That makes for a very powerful configuration mechanism which allows to group settings, resource limits and devices and apply them as needed. Also note that almost all container and profile changes are applied live by LXD to running containers. So removing or adding a network interface is done immediately to all affected containers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1612388 Title: cannot remove device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxd/+bug/1612388/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1556446] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 crashes on upgrade to 16.04
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1519463 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1519463 I confirm that upgrade process (from 14.04 to 16.04) crashed on my laptop LENOVO G410 like Pilot6 said. I also booted with livecd 16.04, then chrooted to the system. In my case I did also execute fsck /dev/sda1 That was because my first partition ended up with a lot of INODE problems. Finally I was able to reboot Ubuntu 16.04 with GUI. There is more... I ran dpkg --configure -a When I tried to do this apt-get install -f at the first time I was not able to execute, because there was broken packages. Ubuntu offer the option to open with SYNAPTIC, so I did with Synaptic. At the end finally apt-get install -f again _ No part of this problem but at the end of the day I notice 16.04 is to slow to boot. I did systemd-analyze blame I see a lot of packages with execution time bigger than 15 seconds I double check any swap problem it seems to be everything OK. _ Ubuntu 16.04 is working, fortunately I didn't lost any personal file, but it was hard and long to rescue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1556446 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 crashes on upgrade to 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1556446/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Problem may have been fixed in new upgrades. Several packages have been upgraded by Ubuntu since reporting bug - a dpkg.log list is attached. Also removed xserver-xorg-video-intel as Ubuntu recommend not to use it for newer PCs. System has now been stable for a day, even with 2 USB mice. Re-installed xserver-xorg-video-intel and ran OK for a while, but then locked, so suspect this driver.
