[Bug 1627239] Re: Web pages not rendering with e10s enabled
Okay. I dug a bit deeper and this issue is caused by the AppArmor profile shipped with Firefox that I have enabled. The syslog contains following entries from AppArmor when running Firefox e10s enabled and the firefox profile in enforce mode: audit: type=1400 audit(1474776774.198:579): apparmor="DENIED" operation="mknod" profile="/usr/lib/firefox/firefox{,*[^s][^h]}" name="/dev/shm/org.chromium.h4apSY" pid=5022 comm=57656220436F6E74656E74 requested_mask="c" denied_mask="c" fsuid=1000 ouid=1000 audit: type=1400 audit(1474776774.222:580): apparmor="DENIED" operation="mknod" profile="/usr/lib/firefox/firefox{,*[^s][^h]}" name="/dev/shm/org.chromium.VpQMbW" pid=5022 comm=57656220436F6E74656E74 requested_mask="c" denied_mask="c" fsuid=1000 ouid=1000 So Firefox tries to access /dev/shm but the default AppArmor profile denies it. So the profile needs to be changed to make it compatible with e10s. ** Summary changed: - Web pages not rendering with e10s enabled + Web pages not rendering with e10s enabled and AppArmor profile in enforce mode ** Description changed: STR: - 1. [Bug 1627407] Re: package tomcat8 8.0.32-1ubuntu1.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in the application being used for the package installation process. Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package again? This process will create a new bug report so I am marking this one as Invalid. Thanks again for helping out! [This is an automated message. [Bug 1574324] Re: pulseaudio crashes when connecting to bluetooth headphones (due to ubuntu changes?)
Hi guys, I am experiencing the same issue from my Plantronics Backbeat Go 2 bluetooth headphones (PLT_BBTGO2). The headphones pair correctly, but then disconnect 2 seconds afterwards. The headphones are confirmed to be pairing and working correctly on Nexus 5 stock Android, and Windows 10. I am running Xenial: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS with kernel 4.4.0-38-generic Prior to this I was running 12.04 LTS and they worked correctly. Aborting. The pulseaudio bluetooth module is installed. ofono is installed (I installed it to try and get it working) I am NOT using blueant. Before installing Joakim's PPA is there anything you'd like me to test / get logs of? I'd be very happy to test Joakim's PPA / provide any other debug information that may be of assistance. [Bug 1627409] [NEW] xbrltty seems to be active even on a totally idle machine

[Bug 1627408] [NEW] Severe graphics regression with mainline kernel v4.7.5 on Broadwell 5500U
Public bug reported: I would like to report a severe graphics regression, involving frequent rainbow-glitching and flickering on a x64 computer with Intel Broadwell 5500U processor w/ integrated graphics. This issue was not present on kernel v4.7.4, which I will continue to use. Due to unfortunate issues with Broadwell integrated graphics support, virtually every kernel build in the 4.8 release chain as well as the newest v4.7.5 kernel have this issue. Dramatic multicolored patches and glitched areas appear frequently when using my computer with these kernels installed. The behavior is very similar to that of the Broadwell graphics issues present in kernel version 4.6.x. [Bug 1627252] Re: Recognize album artwork with "Album title.supported_extension" filename
Do you have any examples for music players that recognise .? (I'm not aware of any at this point.) The existing list of file names exists because they are widely used by various players, so we are just following established precedent here. We can look at supporting this, but I'd prefer to do this only if there are popular music players that already support this. If not, I don't think we'd be doing the world a favour by adding yet another file name convention to the already messy situation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1627252 Title: Recognize album artwork with "Album title.supported_extension" filename To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/music-app/+bug/1627252/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1627400] [NEW] thermald: fix incorrect target state settting by thermald
Public bug reported: We should be including this latest upstream fix: It was observed that in the case of cooling device with min_state > max_state, thermald doesn't set the cooling device to the intended target state per the configuration in XML. This is because of sorting the zone_trip_limits list in ascending order based on target value is not suitable for the case of cooling device with min_state > max_state. Thus this issue is fixed by: 1. sorting the zone_trip_limits list in descending order based on target value for the case of cooling device with min_state > max_state. 2. sorting the zone_trip_limits list in ascending order based on target value for the case of cooling device with max_state > min_state. Example cooling device configuration which caused this issue: gpu_cooling /sys/class/mali/pm/max_freq_level 4 1 . [Bug 1301125] Re: Lock screen after idle time freezes unity
I had the issue that Emmanuel describes, with a fresh install of 16.04.1 LTS 64-bit on a self-built machine with Athlon 64 X2 CPU and IGP ATI RS690 (X1200) and the open source radeon driver and kernels from 4.4.0-31 to -38. As per Jonas's comment #50, cannot switch TTY, but as I've enabled REISUB I can Alt-SysRq-R then E before I can regain control, but then systemd keeps restarting the desktop. A more stable workaround was to set up ssh and ssh in from another box and restart lightdm. Setting the idle time for the screen saver to Never was only partially satisfactory as manually locking the screen would also trigger the screen fade-out and thus the bug. Interestingly, manually blanking the screen using "xset s activate" would blank the screen and not trigger the bug, so it doesn't appear to be a DPMS problem. While sshing in from another box, at the point of triggering the bug there was no output to Xorg.0.log, nor syslog, nor kern.log. However, after some attempted keyboard & mouse activity on the affected system, Xorg.0.log did show an MIEQ overflow backtrace: (EE) [mi] EQ overflowing. [Bug 1627395] [NEW] Skip zenity guest warning dialog in MATE
Public bug reported: When you enter a guest session, a zenity warning dialog is started to explain the nature of the guest session. In Ubuntu MATE a welcome window is shown when a regular user logs in for the first time. When you enter a guest session, an adapted version of that welcome window is shown, which essentially provides the same information as the zenity dialog and makes the latter redundant. Hence the zenity dialog should not be shown when you enter a guest session in Ubuntu MATE. ** Affects: ubuntu-mate Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Gunnar Hjalmarsson (gunnarhj) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: ubuntu-mate Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1627395 Title: Skip zenity guest warning dialog in MATE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1627395/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1627394] [NEW] Allow moving the top panel to the bottom in Unity
Public bug reported: We know that Unity aims for a simple and consistent desktop experience. I've also been pleasantly surprised to notice that the launcher can now be moved to the bottom. I hope Unity is becoming more customizable, while keeping the experience simple, with good defaults. I would like to suggest having the the ability to move the panel from the top, to the bottom, but keeping it by default to the top. Use cases: 1. Consistency with other DEs that the user must use. For example, at work I have to use a DE that has the panel at the bottom. When I want to check the time, my eyes go to the bottom right. When I'm on my personal laptop and want to check the time, I reflexively check the bottom down corner of the screen. There's nothing there, and I need to look in the upper right corner. 2. Large monitors in portrait mode. These monitors place the panel at the extreme top. It may be more comfortable for the use to look at the bottom of the monitor than at the top. Thank you. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1627394 Title: Allow moving the top panel to the bottom in Unity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1627394/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1610499] Re: /bin/kill in ubuntu16.04 has bug in killing process group
I met exactly the same problem when using hadoop in ubuntu 16.04, and copied /bin/kill in ubuntu14.04 to ubuntu16.04 following Dongdong88's suggestion. However it renders /bin/kill simply unusable due to the lack of shared library (the built-in "kill" still works though). I created a link file libprocps.so.3 in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu and targeted it to libprocps.so.4.0.0. But I am not sure if that will make the issue come back again. We may try copying and use libprocps.so.3.0.0 in ubuntu16.04 if so.
