[Bug 1395415] Re: Autokey Phrases Corrupted in Ubuntu 14.10+

2016-09-27 Thread Joseph J. Pollock
Although we can't guarantee any fixes because we don't have an active
developer at the moment, please post issues at
https://github.com/autokey/autokey/issues .

Volunteers who know Python appreciated!

See also https://github.com/guoci/autokey-py3 which is another more
recent branch of the project.

[Bug 862483]

2016-09-27 Thread Kdenis
This bug has only been reported for versions older than KDEPIM 4.14 (at
most akonadi-1.3). Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a recent version of akonadi (part of KDE
Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

[Bug 1619563] Re: Alt + Tab has two actions for me: Close selected application and Switch between applications - it says here in my Unity Keyboard Shortcuts HUD (holding the Super key)

2016-09-27 Thread Matt Hampton
This affected me the exact same way except that I had previously (before
upgrading to 16.04) mapped Alt+Q to switch windows instead of Alt+Tab.
Everything else was the same: previous OS version, screen-shot, and
behavior. Alt+Q now tries to switch windows (the switcher momentarily
pops up), but closes the current window instead.

[Bug 1573474] Re: ubuntu 16.04 oem config wireless

2016-09-27 Thread James Cameron
Is caused by missing wpa_supplicant.

Alternate workaround is to start it manually;

systemctl start wpa_supplicant

After this, wireless can be used. The reason reboot worked was that it
did the same thing.

According to syslog, when the host name changes from oem-INVALID to user
preference captured by oem-config, wpa_supplicant is stopped by systemd,
but does not start again.

What systemd thinks of wpa_supplicant at the time of the problem:

# systemctl status wpa_supplicant
● wpa_supplicant.service - WPA supplicant
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/wpa_supplicant.service; disabled; vendor

Sorry, didn't notice this bug go past. I can't think of anything that
would have changed in LightDM and the log isn't showing anything going
wrong. I was going to suggest you try downgrading LightDM but you've
done that. My best guess is the session / light-locker haven't realised
they've been unlocked for some reason? Either that or something to do
with VT switching (driver issues?).

[Bug 1628364] [NEW] failed writing grub in UEFI install - win8.1 based Windows 10

2016-09-27 Thread John Andrejsons
Public bug reported:

I revived my ubuntu on a Windows 7 based Windows 10 laptop after a
memory upgrade and upgraded further to the 16.04 LTS. I was so
impressed with the performance that I undertook to install it on my
friends Windows 8 PC. He chronically resets to Windows 8.0 factory specs
when his system slows to non-usability, I have a Windows 8.1 based
Windows 10 AE PC, as well. The report is from this one.

I am installing from a memory stick. After some booting struggles with
legacy settings, I thought that I had it right. The stick seems fine
and it did install somewhat successfully on the Windows 8 system and I
get a four item grub menu on boot. ununtu goes to black and Windows
boots fine. I can get to ubuntu in safe mode and I shall work on that.

Meanwhile this install starts with about twenty more "things"(I am not
linux-literate) than the 70 or so on the other system at the beginning
of the install and I get some mount dialogues and I chose the easy way
that does not allow repartitioning. I avoided the proprietary code part
so as not to disturb the safe boot settings.

I don't know if this background helps more than the system generated
data.

I figure that something (Unity?) is now making more use of the upstart
session. So we need to allow all operations on it.

I'm not an upstart expert but I figure this is safe to allow?

[Bug 1620317] Re: ISST-LTE:pNV: system ben is hung during ST (nvme)

2016-09-27 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From gbert...@br.ibm.com 2016-09-27 23:02 EDT---
Hi Canonical,

Our test teams had problems with booting the Ubuntu-4.4.0-40.60 kernel.
They hit an Oops in the NVMe probe path.

My current understanding is that this is already fixed in your kernel by
the fixup commit: e9820e415895 (" UBUNTU: (fix) NVMe: Don't unmap
controller registers on reset") which will be published in kernel
Ubuntu-4.4.0-41.61.

We will try again with that version.

While we are here, I noticed another issue with the backport of
30d6592fce71 (" NVMe: Don't unmap controller registers on reset").
Looks like you are missing the fixup commit that went later into the
4.4.y tree:

81e9a969c441 ('nvme: Call pci_disable_device on the error path") #4.4.y
tree.

I opened Bug 146899 to track this. It will be mirrored soon.

[Bug 1628359] [NEW] network manager indicator shows wrong type of connection if wifi is disabled and enabled back again

2016-09-27 Thread Matteo Paolini
Public bug reported:

If I uncheck the "Enable Wi-Fi" option in the network indicator dropdown
menu it will show the two arrows that indicate that I'm connected to
ethernet, even though I'm not. However, if I check the option "Enable
Wi-Fi" again, it will connect to the network and the connection will
work fine, but it the applet won't show the wi-fi related options, like
the network that I'm currently connected to or other available networks.

[Bug 1606103] Re: modeset driver is missing some modes that the intel driver (and Mir) has

2016-09-27 Thread Rocko
Ok, thanks for the info re dpkg-buildpackage.

xf86DefModeSet.c is created by hw/xfree86/common/modeline2c.awk. If you
run dpkg-buildpackage, you'll find it two places:

$ find -name xf86DefModeSet.c
./build-main/hw/xfree86/common/xf86DefModeSet.c
./build-udeb/hw/xfree86/common/xf86DefModeSet.c

xf86DefModeSet.c is built using the files hw/xfree86/common/vesamodes
and hw/xfree86/common/extramodes. extramodes is modified in the build
process by debian/patches/001_fedora_extramodes.patch, so editing
extramodes directly means the patch and therefore build fails. The
packages do build if I add my missing modes to vesamodes and because all
the modes are combined into the one xf86DefModeSet.c, I assume it'll
work for testing purposes.

dpkg-buildpackage builds a whole bunch of debs:

xserver-common_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_all.deb
xserver-xorg-core-udeb_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_amd64.udeb
xserver-xephyr_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_amd64.deb
xserver-xorg-dev_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_amd64.deb
xserver-xorg-core_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_amd64.deb
xserver-xorg-legacy_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_amd64.deb
xserver-xorg-core-dbg_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_amd64.deb
xserver-xorg-xmir_1.18.4-1ubuntu6_all.deb

It looks like installing xserver-common and xserver-xorg-core should be
sufficient to test my changes, is that correct or do I need the udeb or
any of the other packages?

[Bug 1607920] Re: zfs services fail on firstboot if zfs-utils is integrated into the deployment image

2016-09-27 Thread Eric Desrochers
** Description changed:

That one gets a little farther but ultimately doesn't give me a desktop
either.

The previous kernels, once I logged in all I was left with was the lightdm
wallpaper. With this kernel, the screen goes black, but that's it. No
response on the desktop to mouse or keyboard clicks, but ssh works and htop
doesn't show any abnormal stats.

[Bug 1628351] [NEW] PNG loading degraded

2016-09-27 Thread Florian Wesch
Public bug reported:

PNG loading fails for some/all(?) PNG files with the error message
'IOError: cannot identify image file'

The reason for that seems to be that there's a new check like this in a
few chunk handlers:

  self.check_text_memory(len(v))

At this point, len is already used an a number value passed in as
parameter (see PngImagePlugin.py:311 in chunk_tEXt) so the builtin
function len gets shadowed. The call therefore results in a TypeError:

TypeError: 'int' object is not callable

Package version is
python-imaging 2.3.0-1ubuntu3.2 on Ubuntu Trusty Tahr.

I tried downgrading lightdm (and related packages) to their xenial

directly related to lightdm.

[Bug 1262201] Re: System freezes after suspend session

2016-09-27 Thread Enigma
Still an issue with Nvidia 660 Ti running propriety drivers on Ubuntu
GNOME 16.04.1.

Freezes within 1 minute of resuming 100% of the time (about 12/12 so far
before disabling it).

[Bug 1628337] [NEW] cloud-init tries to install NTP before even configuring the archives

2016-09-27 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Public bug reported:

cloud-init tries to install NTP package before it actually configures
/etc/apt/sources.list.

In a closed MAAS environment where MAAS is limited to access to
us.archive.ubuntu.com , cloud-init is trying to access to
archive.ubuntu.com.

In commissioning, however, cloud-init is doing this:

1. cloud-init gets metadata from MAAS
2. cloud-init tries to install NTP from archive.ubuntu.com
3. cloud-init configures /etc/apt/sources.list with us.archive.ubuntu.com
4. cloud-init installs other packages.

[Bug 1628306] Re: network booting fails for iscsi root if no ip is set

2016-09-27 Thread Steve Langasek
Hello Mathieu, or anyone else affected,

Accepted initramfs-tools into xenial-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-
tools/0.122ubuntu8.3 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

Re: [Bug 1189721] Re: Ralink RT3290 doesn't have a bluetooth driver

2016-09-27 Thread Randy Winchester
I installed the .deb, #2 for 16.04LTS and rebooted. I still see the "No
bluetooth adapters found" message in the settings app. Is there additional
installation that needs to be done?

[Bug 1628327] [NEW] [MIR] golang-gosqlite-dev

2016-09-27 Thread Steve Langasek
Public bug reported:

ubuntu-push build-depends on golang-gosqlite-dev, which is linked
statically into its binaries. ubuntu-push has just been MIRed into
main, which means that golang-gosqlite-dev also needs to go through this
process and be included in main.

I see that the golang-gosqlite-dev package currently depends on
libsqlite0-dev, which is obsolete, and this dependency tries to pull the
old sqlite package into main. This dependency will need to be dropped.

referenced in comment #6.

All looks good now - systemd units for ZFS no longer fail. Thanks for
