update changelog and then rebuild a new debian package. Then you can

[Bug 1500692] Re: openconnect fails with DTLS

2016-12-28 Thread Martin Smith
Hello!

> Ubuntu 15.10 is EOL now, and the version of OpenConnect that this bug
was reported against is no longer supported. Can you still reproduce
this with a supported version, either in 16.04 LTS or with the current
version 7.08?

No, I ended up having to give up and use the Cisco client.

> That said, even if you can reproduce this, is this really a bug? If
there is something about your VPN provider or your network that requires
you to disable DTLS, that may be a feature and not really a bug. DTLS is
an optional feature that normally works and improves your VPN
throughput, but can be disabled to possibly give you a working
connection.

Yes, it was a definitely bug because DTLS has to be disabled *only* with
OpenConnect and only with this version. I'm pretty sure I stated that it
only affects this version in the initial report (after an upgrade, where
DTLS worked on the previous release).

> Can you confirm whether current releases of openconnect still behave
this way for you, and if so, why you think this should stay open as a
bug rather than a working feature?

I can't. I left this version behind after the bug wasn't addressed for
1+ years. This can be closed.

[Bug 1250877] Re: Python3 modules are not installed in the right path

2016-12-28 Thread Shu Hung (Koala)
>From *Deviations_from_upstream* in Debina's Python wiki page
https://wiki.debian.org/Python#Deviations_from_upstream

---

* dist-packages instead of site-packages. Third party Python software
installed from Debian packages goes into dist-packages, not site-
packages. This is to reduce conflict between the system Python, and any
from-source Python build you might install manually.

---

A more detailed discussion on the same issue can be found here in Debian's bug
tracker:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=765022#30

That says Debian deliberately treat .deb python packages and manually
installed python modules differently. They changed the stock Debian
Pythons' module path from `site-packages` to `dist-packages`. So the
stock Python uses modules only from DEB sources (installs to `dist-
packages`) and not from easy_install or otherwise compiled (installs to
`site-packages`).

Automake either doesn't care or horner the management ideal. They only
support you to install your python library into `site-packages` so it
doesn't overwrite the packages you installed with .deb.

If Automake provide config directive to override `pyexecdir` and
`pythondir`, it would be a much better tool for system package
developers (e.g. Python based ibus engine developer) for proper testing.
I found no such option yet.

[Bug 1423326] Re: lxsession should depend on lxsession-logout

2016-12-28 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package lxsession - 0.5.3-1ubuntu1

---
lxsession (0.5.3-1ubuntu1) zesty; urgency=medium

  * Re-sync with Debian. Ubuntu remaining changes :
  * debian/control:
   - Keep built-in support, since qt session use lxqt-session.
   - Add Replaces: lxsession-data (<< 0.5.3-1) for lxsession.

lxsession (0.5.3-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  [ Julien Lavergne ]
  * Stop building built-in support, for easy integration with qt session.

  [ Andriy Grytsenko ]
  * Rebuild all .c from .vala to be up to date.
  * Changing Maintainer e-mail to Alioth based one.
  * Using https for VCS fields in debian/control file.
  * Using dh-autoreconf instead of autotools-dev.
  * Adding dependency on policykit-1 (Closes: #773126, #773480, #814915).
  * Replacing Provides policykit-1-gnome with polkit-1-auth-agent
(Closes: #826490, #842267).
  * Removing override_dh_strip rule from debian/rules.
  * Removing upower (<< 0.99) from Depends, it's not available anymore.
  * Merging upstream version 0.5.3.

  * Updating lxsession-xsettings in lxsession.install, it was moved.
  * Removing 01-no-dup-polkit.patch, it's included by upstream.
  * Removing 02-fix-db-update.patch, it's included by upstream.
  * Enabling hardening (set DEB_BUILD_MAINT_OPTIONS indebian/rules).
  * Recommend lxde-session instead of lxde-common.

  * Splitting out lxsession-data package.
  * Splitting out lxsession-edit package.
  * Splitting out lxpolkit package.
  * Splitting out lxlock package.
  * Split out lxsession-logout package. It can be used independently
(LP: #1423326).
  * Split out lxsession-default-apps package, it may be optional.
  * Splitting out lxde-settings-daemon package, lxsession does not need it
but it can be used independently instead.
  * Adding manual pages coming with package to install (Closes: #722037).
  * Adding proper dependency from lxlock to supported screen lockers
(Closes: #780024).

[Bug 1645698] Re: [SRU] Upgrade network-manager to latest point release

2016-12-28 Thread Wojtek Kazimierczak
Just to let know the other users who might search for the reason of
networking regression in this place: after installation of this update
yesterday, I observe on my laptop (Lenovo X220) a problem with wifi
after a sleep/resume, as reported earlier by Dalila.

Symptoms:
- laptop won't connect automatically to wifi,
- network indicator shows only one (apparently) random SSID on the list of
available networks,
- the problem is resolved with the command: sudo service network-manager restart

This problem existed for me since the upgrade to Xenial (16.04), but
appeared only every 10 suspends or so. Now it happens every time, so I
suppose it will be easier to find the reason and definitely solve the
problem.

[Bug 1651025] Re: Steam says I'm offline when I'm not. Ubuntu 17.04 Daily

2016-12-28 Thread Cousteau
Installing libnss-resolve:i386 fixed it for me as well, but only with
Steam from the multiverse repos, not if I donwload from the steam page.
Could be a coincidence though. Had to try installing several times, but
now it's working.

Thanks for the workaround Bryan.

Verified still present, for 16.10 ..

New install of 16.10 on 'HP Stream 11 Pro G2'. No issue with install,
other than slight delay at startup/re-start(s). Exhibits 15-20 second
delay (with screen purple) at EVERY power on/startup.

No change, from issue for 16.04 LTS.

This issue is still present on 16.04.1 LTS, and is not resolved by being

While use of eMMC is not widespread, this UNRESOLVED issue causes (at

2016-12-28 Thread Dan Palmer-Bancel
This bug persists in 16.10 on a December 2016 spec XP Spectre x360.

Uncommenting or commenting

HandleLidSwitch=suspend
HandleLidSwitchDocked=ignore

have no effect.

Should a separate bug be raised for 16.10? Or is it implied that it will
be looked at during the lifecycle of 16.10 and backported to the LTS
release?

# This will only remove masks created by d-s-h on package removal.
deb-systemd-helper unmask run-vmblock\\x2dfuse.mount >/dev/null || true

# was-enabled defaults to true, so new installations run enable.
if deb-systemd-helper --quiet was-enabled run-vmblock\\x2dfuse.mount; then
# Enables the unit on first installation, creates new
# symlinks on upgrades if the unit file has changed.
deb-systemd-helper enable run-vmblock\\x2dfuse.mount >/dev/null || true
else
# Update the statefile to add new symlinks (if any), which need to be
# cleaned up on purge. Also remove old symlinks.
deb-systemd-helper update-state run-vmblock\\x2dfuse.mount >/dev/null
|| true
fi
```
It seems that the deb-systemd-helper script unable to properly process
filepaths containing a slash. View the problem in a different angle it
is suspicious for /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/run-
vmblock\x2dfuse.mount file to have a slash in a filename in the first
place, which looks like a escape character for hyphen-minus(0x2d), isn't
the file should be named run-vmblock-fuse.mount instead?
Just some updated information that I hope is useful. This issue is still
occurring.
I understand it may be fixed going forward from 16.10 but I know 16.04 LTS will
be around for a long time!
Any chance Ubuntu Xorg package maintainers can reach out to their
upstream?
Vincent, i just realized i never reported back! I've been using your
patched kernel ever since my last reply. I don't think i have
experienced even one freeze since then! Thank you for the patch! Yes,
please work on getting this patch into the mainline kernel!
And everyone else please test this patch and see if it also works for
you!!
[Bug 1653015] Re: Random boot crash for Dell 7559 6700HQ with Ubuntu 16.04
2016-12-28 Thread turoyo dee
some notes:
  - I do not experience this crash with fresh install of 16.04.1 ( with kernel
4.4.0-31 )
this starts to happen when:
  - the kernel gets updated ( I observed it clearly with 4.4.0-51 , 4.4.0-57 )
  * it may have happened in 4.4.0-4* but I can't remember
once a kernel update happens, even when I revert to 4.4.0-31 and uninstall the
new kernel,
this issue persists
[Bug 1652903] Re: No libsphinxclient Package in xenial
2016-12-28 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Looked a bit into this and it seems like the libsphinxclient-packages
were part of an Ubuntu-delta in 2.0.4-1.1ubuntu1 and 2.0.4-1.1ubuntu2
(see
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sphinxsearch/+publishinghistory for
an overview). Then, during the development of Ubuntu 16.04, version
2.2.9-1 was synced from Debian and the delta was dropped.
I couldn't find a sync request bug report or more details on why these
binary packages were dropped when a newer version was synced. doko,
seems like you did the sync, so I've taken the liberty of subscribing
you to this issue in case you have some more details about this issue.
:)
2016-12-28 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Public bug reported:
  * Bump standards version to 3.9.6
  * Bump debhelper version to >= 9
