[Bug 1662440] Re: Unable to import FNMT certificates in chromium or chrome

2017-02-08 Thread Alvaro de Lucas
Reported here:
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=690340

I think importance shouldn't be low: you can't use the browser if you require
your certificates.
Thank you very much in advance
Kind regards

[Bug 1663143] [NEW] With disk encryption enabled, partition table will be changed right after security key setup

2017-02-08 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Public bug reported:

Steps:
1. Install any other version of Ubuntu.
2. Boot with 16.04.1 dailylive (0208) LiveUSB
3. Select "Erase Disk and install Ubuntu", enable encryption and LVM
4. Setup your security key, and click "Install Now"

Expected results:
* Change should be made only after the "Write the change to disks?" dialogue, I
can still change my mind to cancel the installation and reboot to my old system.

Actual results:
* Once you click on the "Install Now" button, changes will be made immediately
to the disk, you won't be able to boot to your old system. The "Write the
change to disks?" dialogue will appears later.

Another scenario is, if I want to change my security key after clicking
on the "Install Now" button, I can do this by clicking on the "Cancel"
button of the upcoming "Write the change to disks?" dialogue. However,
as the change has already been made to the disk, it will complains about
"Configuration failed" this time, stop user from completing the
installation.

[Bug 1654392] Re: growisofs -speed parameter has no effect

2017-02-08 Thread Thomas Schmitt
Hi,

congrats to the success.

I have to stress, though, that cdrskin and xorriso are not forks of cdrecord
or growisofs, but applications of libburn, an independent implementation
of an SCSI/MMC driver in userspace.

In the end it depends on what the drive's firmware makes out of the SCSI
commands which it gets sent.

Have a nice day :)

Thomas

[Bug 1389811] Re: tgtadm: out of memory crash

2017-02-08 Thread Spyderdyne
Same issue, but on RPi3B

Not sure if it should even be able to run or if this qualifies as a bug
since memory is so scarce on these:

tgtadm: out of memory

Attempted overclocking after noticing that python-twist was using so
many resources and it is much faster now, but the iSCSI daemon still
dies on startup.

2017-02-08 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks. Unfortunately I still can't reproduce this bug, seeing other
problems instead.

With ubuntu-calendar-app and webbrowser-app I get bug 1663125. However
that is not new to Mir 0.26.1, or 0.26.0. Same problem happens with Mir
0.25 too.

It's possible the EGL crash you report is actually related to the
apparmor problem preventing webbrowser-app from working for some people
-> bug 1590561

Did not find a proper bug description for Trusty-LTS with Xenial HWE for this
bug, but it appears the same on such a system. I also tried nvidia-370 and the
same.
Kernel 4.4.0-62 is the last one it works on, with 4.4.0-63 the error appears.

[Bug 1559088] Re: [Xenial 2.0] tgt fails to start with tgtadm out of memory error

It looks like Python Twisted is actually taking up most of the
resources. Wondering if there is a resource cap that I can force Python
to stay under to keep from killing off other services. I suspected
Postgres at first but it's definitely Python.

[Bug 1579609] Re: os-prober bug resulting in possible FS corruption

2017-02-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package os-prober - 1.70ubuntu3.3

---
os-prober (1.70ubuntu3.3) xenial; urgency=medium

  * More fixes to not mangle partitions that can't be safely detected via
mounting: (LP: #1579609)
- os-probes/common/50mounted-tests: Add statement to skip probing when a
  partition is detected as LVM2_member.
- Synchronize os-probes/common/50mounted-tests and
linux-boot-probes/common/50mounted-tests so they behave the same with
regards too LVM members and extended partitions.
- Fix fs_types() to not return with an error code, in all cases it should
return a value of NOT-DETECTED if the partition type could not be
detected; this includes MSDOS extended partitions.

os-prober (1.70ubuntu3.2) xenial; urgency=critical

  * debian/control: add missing Depends on grub-common (which ships grub-mount
and grub-probe) now that this is the only path to probing for filesystems.

os-prober (1.70ubuntu3.1) xenial; urgency=critical

  * os-probes/common/50mounted-tests: don't mount filesystems with mount for
probing as that can cause corruption in some cases. (LP: #1579609)

[Bug 1654392] Re: growisofs -speed parameter has no effect

2017-02-08 Thread Travisgevans
Thanks for the response and sorry for the delay! I actually don't burn
optical discs very often anymore and needed to wait for another
opportunity to arise (my discs are DVD+R which don't work with simulated
writing, and I didn't want to waste them in order to test).

With -speed=1, growisofs still writes at maximum speed (16x). However,
with xorrecord, the speed control works fine. Thanks for suggesting
those tools; my GNU/Linux burning knowledge has been out of date for a
while and I lost track of all the forks. :-)

I cannot actually say this is a bug. I do not think that the iSCSI
daemon is able to run with this tiny amount of memory. It would be a
lot cooler if it could though. I can see it becoming popular to be able
to spend $50 on a MaaS rack controller for each rack with a quad core
computer, some sticky velcro, and a patch cable. We are already
embedding mini-computers inside our servers for IPMI and management
anyway. Unfortunately this might render my RPi MaaS rack controller
idea unusable. Will attempt to set up a swap space on these 64GB
Class10 SD cards and see if that works. I already gave it it's own
power switch after all...
