[Bug 1536751] Re: Font/text rendering is irregular and not pixel-aligned on low DPI screens

[Bug 1536751] Re: Font/text rendering is irregular and not pixel-aligned on low DPI screens
I can now see part of the problem more clearly. If you look at labels that contain the same letter multiple times like "Calculator" or "Security & Privacy", then it becomes apparent that the clarity of that same letter changes depending on where it is in the word. Given that Qt caches individual glyphs (discovered in bug 1583088), this variation in clarity should never happen. Most likely the problem is Qt's text rendering is failing to place some glyphs at integer x locations, which is a big deal on regular low DPI displays. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1536751 Title: Font/text rendering is irregular and not pixel-aligned on low DPI screens To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1536751/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1536751] Re: Font/text rendering is irregular and not pixel-aligned on low DPI screens
Also the two lower-case u's in "Ubuntu App Test" have particularly different appearance. It seems Qt is placing glyphs according to a higher fractional precision than the resolution of the display, which while technically correct also creates unacceptable blurring of text at low DPI.

[Bug 1665196] Re: Wifi password must entered and saved from edit connections gui
I retested to make sure this bug is valid on my hardware. [Bug 1665216] [NEW] dbus-java-bin's CreateInterface utility fails with parser error
Public bug reported: According to the documentation for the CreateInterface utility of dbus- java the following command should generate a java source file for the appropriate interface. [Bug 1665205] [NEW] mouse jumps on clickpad drag and drop
Public bug reported: The package xserver-xorg-input-synaptics needs to be updated in the Ubuntu repositories. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad E460 with a ClickPad. The click pad works perfectly on Windows10. On Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS the mouse behaves properly except when drag and dropping in the following way: 1) Press left button "under" the clickpad with a finger 2) Move another finger across the touchpad. When I do that, the mouse simply jumps around to the corners of the screen. It probably can't tell which finger is moving. But If I do the following it works: 1) Press left *physical* button (this Thinkpad has physical buttons on top of the clickpad) 2) Move a finger across the touchpad. So clearly the problem is with the driver of the clickpad. The solution I found requires installing xserver-xorg-input-synaptics version 1.9.0 instead of the 1.8.3 that comes by default with Ubuntu. When installing that version (taken from Debian Stretch repo) it all worked again. Note that this version is the same that Fedora 25 ships by default. When updating to 1.9.0, a bunch of pacakges needed to get new versions as well. [Bug 1615318] Re: package daemontools-run 1:0.76-6ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
I didn't have dnscache-run installed. When I try to install from the raw .deb file I got the same error. But the upgrade tool said it completed successfully except for that error and after rebooting dnscache-run was no longer problematic and lsb_release shows I'm on 16.04, so I think everything is fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1615318 Title: package daemontools-run 1:0.76-6ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/daemontools/+bug/1615318/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1665184] [NEW] Assertion list returned by GET /v2/assertions/type can't be reliably split
Public bug reported: GET /v2/assertions returns "a stream of assertions separated by double newlines", however an assertion uses double newlines as separators, which means a snapd client can't determine the difference between the parts of an assertion (either header+signature or header+body+signature). For example, the response could be: OR In this case the client can't reliably determine if the body1 is a signature or an assertion body. ** Affects: snappy Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: snapd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: snappy Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1665184 Title: Assertion list returned by GET /v2/assertions/type can't be reliably split To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1665184/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
