[Bug 1644641] Re: Newton, Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Keystone authentication issue

2017-04-26 Thread subratsahoo
Hi All,
I also have the same issue tried multiple times both on virtual box and KVM
environments.
While configuring the final identity services on controller node running
"openstack project create --domain default --description "Service Project"
service"
command with all default credential as per the
"https://docs.openstack.org/newton/install-guide-ubuntu/keystone-install.html;
found authentication error "The request you have made requires authentication.
(HTTP 401) (Request-ID: req-bf07f23b-7238-4b1a-9d51-e823b33ad9dd)"
The last log from keystone-wsgi-public.log shown as below:
'2017-04-27 00:24:49.539 1530 WARNING keystone.common.wsgi
[req-bf07f23b-7238-4b1a-9d51-e823b33ad9dd - - - - -] Authorization failed. The
request you have made requires authentication. from 10.0.0.11

I tried similar instruction on Centos7(newton) guide and have same
failure at same points. Seems something wrong in common both for ubuntu
and Centos7.

I have successfully able to install liberty and mitaka both on Centos7
before on multiple node environments.

[Bug 1683997] Re: Firefox scrollbars are too narrow and difficult to use in Zesty

2017-04-26 Thread Rocko
As an aside, oddly enough, it doesn't affect everything. Nautilus is
ignoring the theme settings and still has an horizontally-expanding
sidebar on hover with my workaround in place. But that's probably a bug
in Nautilus.

[Bug 1686456] Re: Font size in tab titles too big compared to Windows since material design

2017-04-26 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Thanks for the detailed report!
Chromium actually uses the default font and font size configured on the system.
You can change that in gnome-tweak-tool, go to "Fonts > Interface" and select a
different font/size.
I’ll mark this bug invalid as this is behaving as designed.

[Bug 1166529] Re: Creative Recon3d & Sound Blaster Z (CA0132), No Sound At All; Broken Beyond All Repair

2017-04-26 Thread Scooty Puff Jr.
Okay, I did a whole bunch of things tonight and I think I got mine
working.

Added " options snd-hda-intel model=auto " to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
(https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=110209)

Added " sudo apt-get install dkms " and downloading the most recent ALSA daily
for 16.04
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS)

Added " rmmod snd_hda_intel " and " modprobe snd_hda_intel position_fix=1 " to
/etc/rc.local
(https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/221)

Executed " sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-lts-wily
xserver-xorg-core-lts-wily xserver-xorg-lts-wily
xserver-xorg-video-all-lts-wily xserver-xorg-input-all-lts-wily
libwayland-egl1-mesa-lts-wily "

Installed hdajackretask [per mephi, #81 in this thread], selected
Creative CA0132, and toggled Advanced override. Override Green
Headphone, Front side. Set Device to Headphone and Channel (in group) to
Front.

Also the simple stuff like making sure your desired audio output device
is set to default and not muted. Make sure to run alsamixer after each
reboot because I find my output muted after every restart.

Hope this helps someone!

[Bug 1686299] Re: Cannot get past login after update to 4.4.0.75-generic

2017-04-26 Thread Ben Langmuir
Okay I was able to fix this. I tried updating to nvidia-375 in case
that was the issue, and during the install I noticed it was compiling
something with clang instead of gcc. After that I was getting the same
behaviour from both 4.4.0-72 and 4.4.0-75.

I think what happened was:
1. I did update-alternatives to switch cc/c++ to clang
2. I updated my kernel, which rebuilt part of nvidia's driver with clang
3. Broken.

I fixed it by doing:
1. apt-get-purge nvidia-*
2. update-alternatives back to gcc
3. re-install nvidia-375

I'm now using nvidia-375 with kernel 4.4.0-75.

[Bug 1646277] Re: Xenial server 16.04.x will have a black screen after PXE installation

2017-04-26 Thread NancyHsu
The link which you provide in comment #37, we can not find the link to
download "amd64 build of linux 4.4.0-20.36 in ubuntu xenial RELEASE".

We try 17.04 kernel, the bug still not fixed.

Could you help to reproduce the bug with PXE server on your side?
Thanks.

[Bug 1686305] Re: Merlin SGMII fail on Ubuntu Xenial HWE kernel

2017-04-26 Thread Thang Nguyen
Hi Joseph,
Can you help recompile the images for AARCH64 instead of X86_64? The Merlin
board is using ARM64 CPU, not X86_64.

Thanks for your help,

This is blocking the 0.12 release of Geary, since the new version
depends on webkit2gtk and this bug makes it completely unusable. I'm not
sure when 2.16.2 is due out, but it would be great if the patch from the
webkit bug could be applied to the package in the meantime.

Yes, the Ubuntu Desktop Team will discuss the Initial Setup app later.

Even before Ubuntu GNOME finally got gnome-initial-setup packaged and in
the default install, we had the Getting Started Help show up on first

[Bug 1648183] Re: Crackling and popping sound when using headphones

2017-04-26 Thread Yamato Reed
I've managed to fix partially the problem or at least I can narrow it
down. So , if I override all my other audio lines via hdajackretask
module and only enable the headphone one, the sound is perfect. What
happens though when I turn back on the line for the Internal speakers ,
it goes back to crackling and popping in the internal speakers and
headphones. So basically this allows the user to use EITHER internal
speakers OR headphones , NOT both.

[Bug 1686568] [NEW] Firefox Does Not Respond. Process can not be killed. Terminal commands to kill the process freeze. Logout Freeze.

2017-04-26 Thread MURAT ATES
Public bug reported:

Firefox goes unresponsive occasionally after the latest kernel update.
Can force-kill the window but the process can not be killed. Reboot stalls.
Logout freezes the system. Must hard-reboot by long-pressing the power button
to get back to normal and the same repeats randomly.

[Bug 1685865] Re: Can't login after boot with Kernel 4.11.0-rc7, soft lockup in systemd-logind

2017-04-26 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I built the next test kernel, up to the following commit:
da2ba564a6dcf46df4f828624ff55531ff11d5b0

The test kernel can be downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1685865/da2ba564a6dcf46df4f828624ff55531ff11d5b0

Can you test that kernel and report back if it has the bug or not? I
will build the next test kernel based on your test results.

Thanks in advance

As regards gnome-initial-setup, it's a design matter a bit beyond the
docs internals, and I would suggest a separate thread about it on the
ubuntu-desktop mailing list.

Ubuntu MATE has something along those lines, and if we keep lightdm, it
can be worth mentioning that they show a customized first page in the
guest session.

Something like that. I'd like to make a serious attempt to fork the
.page files from a suitable version (which version is that?) of GNOME
Help, identify the Ubuntu specific pages which would make sense to keep,
and integrate them in the structure.

[Bug 1686554] Re: package chromium-browser-l10n (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: cannot copy extracted data for './usr/lib/chromium-browser/locales/kn.pak' to '/usr/lib/chromium-browser/loca

2017-04-26 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Agreed, it should be ok to drop this. I believe the original rationale is
that you don't want to *apply* an upgrade while on battery, since running
out of power during the upgrade is Very Bad. But downloads should be ok.

No, it's not, settings are still overwritten randomly after restarts of the
service which makes absolutely no sense and is destructive.

There's mentioning of that at https://thornelabs.net/2013/08/18

[Bug 1686544] [NEW] sudo fails to retrieve groups in sudoUser

2017-04-26 Thread quess
Public bug reported:

Currently using sudo with sssd 1.13.4 on xenial to manage sudo rules,
groups are not resolved since last update.

I troubleshooted :
- sudo with all@debug
- sssd with [sudo] debug_level = 9 and [domain/domain.tld] debug_level = 9
- LDAP requests are correctly sent, and I can obtain correct rules
- SSSD cache is correctly stored too, I can successfully ldbsearch into!

I had to downgrade sudo (1.8.16-0ubuntu1.3) xenial to sudo
(1.8.16-0ubuntu1) xenial, to get my groups working again. I tried sudo
1.8.19, with no luck.

Working in 1.8.16-0ubuntu1.3 and 1.8.16-0ubuntu1:
sudoCommand: /bin/mount
sudoHost: ALL
sudoUser: ALL

Working in 1.8.16-0ubuntu1.3 and 1.8.16-0ubuntu1:
sudoCommand: /bin/mount
sudoHost: ALL
sudoUser: #uid

Broken since 1.8.16-0ubuntu1.3:
sudoCommand: /bin/mount
sudoHost: ALL
sudoUser: %mygroup

Broken in 1.8.16-0ubuntu1.3:
sudoCommand: /bin/mount
sudoHost: ALL
sudoUser: myuser

Patch sssd-doesnt-handle-netgroups.diff seems to break something...

[Bug 1681531] Re: networking.service fails on ifup if networking configured via cloud-init

Actually...the root cause is:
https://git.launchpad.net/~utlemming/cloud-init/commit/?id=804e183bae9796d73d96547f47b0bdd2d57628eb

Since the DigitalOcean meta-data has multiple gateway's defined, cloud-
init was rendering an ENI file with two "gateway" stanza's.

[Bug 1686237] Re: [SRU] microrelease exception for src:php7.0 (7.0.18)

2017-04-26 Thread Nish Aravamudan
7.0.18-2ubuntu1 has landed in 17.10.

** Description changed:

There have been a number of microreleases of PHP 7.0 upstream since the
last update to Xenial (which corresponded to the merge in Zesty). As we
have re-merged again in Artful, it feels appropriate to provide another
MRE update to php7.0. A number of critical security and bug-fixes are
present in each 7.0.x. Rather than backporting individual patches (e.g.,
Bug # 1569509), I believe it makes significantly more sense to follow
the upstream 7.0.x. Upstream PHP is demonstrating an improved approach
  of bugfixes only in 7.0.x:

- - 7.0.18: http://php.net/ChangeLog-7.php
+  - 7.0.18: http://php.net/ChangeLog-7.php#7.0.18

The upstream CI is at: https://travis-ci.org/php/php-src and is run
  regularly.

Our php7.0 source package has autopkgtests for the 4 SAPIs, mod-php,
cgi, fpm and cli. We have also updated the packing to run the source
  tests during the build itself.

I do not believe there is a firm statement from upstream on API/ABI
stability, but the general approach seems to be a BC-break would result
  in 7.1.0.

Additionally for this SRU, there is (at least) one bug fixed upstream
which will be fixed by updating to a newer upstream version: LP:
  #1674892.
