Hi jsalisbury,
linux-image-4.4.0-94-generic from -proposed looks fine to me. VMs boot
ok and as expected no TRAP 0xF60 (Facility Unavailable) in dmesg:
root@sid:~# apt-get -t xenial-proposed install linux-image-4.4.0-94-generic
** Description changed:
+ [SRU Justification]
+
+ [Impact]
+ System OOPSes shortly after boot when KVM guests are started.
+
+ [Fix]
+ Cherry-pick patch e47057151422a67ce08747176fa21cb3b526a2c9
+
+ [Testcase]
+ Tested at IBM - boot a machine with a KVM guest configured to start at boot.
errors.ubuntu.com is not showing any occurrences of this in Xenial.

Same problem on ASUS Chromebook C201 running Xenial under Crouton (armhf).
firefox 55.0.1 and 55.0.2 (both published 8/17) crash immediately at launch.
firefox 52.0.2 from 8/15 still works for me:

Well, I still think that that kind of resources is the right place for an issue
like this. As long as we don't know why you fail to access DVDs,
