[Bug 1735872] [NEW] Port system-config-kickstart away from pygtk2
Public bug reported: system-config-kickstart is one of 3 packages in main keeping source pygtk in main. (The other two are ibus-sunpinyin and python-pyperclip, an OpenStack-related package.) pygtk has been unmaintained upstream since around 2011. The way forward is to port system-config-kickstart to use GObject Introspection bindings. This also requires porting to GTK3. As l3 agent is repeatedly processing same routers, SIGHUPs are frequently sent to keepalived, resulting in multiple masters. To fix this, we call update_all_ha_network_port_statuses in l3 agent start instead of calling from fetch_and_sync_all_routers. [Bug 1711203] Re: Deployments fail when Secure Boot enabled
I've updated lp:maas-images to produce new images using the linux-signed kernel on AMD64. New images are produced when http://cloud- images.ubuntu.com/daily/ adds new images so it may take a few days for signed kernels to appear in the stream. Unsupported releases are no longer updated so we'll have to manually regenerate them if we want signed kernels. The stream also contains all bootloaders including the shim. Once a new shim-signed package is released to Xenial the stream will automatically ingest the the update. Let me know if we want to test an updated bootloader, I can produce a new proposed stream. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1711203 Title: Deployments fail when Secure Boot enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/curtin/+bug/1711203/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1735843] [NEW] Bionic update to v4.14.3 stable release
Public bug reported: SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch. [Bug 1735842] [NEW] nouveau fb: trapped write at X on channel Y; fifo CACHE_ERROR
Public bug reported: Occurred whilst using Firefox Nightly 59.0a1 (2017-11-22) - session had been active for several days. No crash report or other useful info in other logs than shown here. Firefox stopped responding then I realised the entire desktop had likewise although touchpad/mouse movement was fine. Keyboard input was also unavailable (including Ctrl+Alt+Fx). [Bug 1734147] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 corrupting BIOS - many LENOVO laptops models
Workaround for reference to install Windows with the broken BIOS. If you try to install through PXE Windows you'll see that it errors when trying to bcdedit the entry to BIOS and the process fails. A nasty workaround that works is: - Create a raw Virtual Disk that points to the physical drive - Install Windows until the first restart through VirtualBox (it extracts only the wim files and creates the EFI BCD). - Finish the installation on the Lenovo Also I recommend you to leave rEFInd as default EFI entry (EFI/BOOT) so that you can launch bootable USBs using the novo button when PXE fails and defaults to rEFInd. I hope either Lenovo or Ubuntu releases a proper fix but at least now I've found a way to Install Linuxes, Windows and Boot USBs with the corrupted BIOS. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1734147 Title: Ubuntu 17.10 corrupting BIOS - many LENOVO laptops models To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1734147/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Regarding the couple of bugs in Debian mentioned above, one is resolved—only #751615 is outstanding. [Bug 1733662] Re: System hang with Linux kernel 4.13, not with 4.10
I've tried upgrading to the latest development kernel, from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.15-rc1/, and re- testing. The details of the problem have changed (but they were never 100% consistent), but the problem definitely still exists. I'm attaching dmesg output from three runs: * run1.txt -- In this run, the cpu_offlining script successfully shut down all CPU nodes (except node 0, of course), but when bringing them up again, the system segfaulted after bringing up several nodes. Thereafter, any remotely substantive command (top or shutdown, for instance) hung, although bash remained responsive and I could take file listings with ls. * run2.txt -- In this run, the cpu_offlining script segfaulted when taking CPU nodes offline. The system then became unreliable in the same way as with run 1. * run3.txt -- In this run, the script seemed to complete successfully, but the dmesg output includes errors associated with bringing up several nodes. The system SEEMED TO operate normally thereafter, but my testing was limited. ** Attachment added: "dmesg output from three runs with the 4.15.0-041500rc1 kernel" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe/+bug/1733662/+attachment/5017191/+files/boldore.tgz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1733662 Title: System hang with Linux kernel 4.13, not with 4.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe/+bug/1733662/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1735826] [NEW] SMART Board Pen not supported
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 17.10 | xserver-xorg-input-libinput 0.25.0-0ubuntu1 I'm using Ubuntu 17.10 with a SMART Board 6000 (an interactive whiteboard) in school. The touch-screen of the board works fine. Unfortunately there are a lot of problems with the pen: - The pen isn't recognized as a device on Wayland.
