listed prior to 'Operation not permitted' eventually my wireless
settings were broken, and I was unable to access the internet through

I've been having this bug as well, when trying to install Ubuntu 17.10
(or fedora 27) in dual boot, and any linux distrib on Virtual Machine
(Virtual Box).

It appears unplugging my ssd from the Marvel 88se9123 sata3 controller
and pluggung it into a bog standard sata port makes linux and the drive
work great - except slow as not 6gb. No errors in install or in dmesg.
