[Bug 1734856] Re: Can't boot VM with more than 16 disks (slof buffer issue)
Thanks for sorting out the Artful test already bssrikanth. To be clear (the comments by kalshett are unclear to me at least. You need to test Xenial/Zesty/Artful HOSTS. The fix is in the slof package that is installed in the KVM host. It actually doesn't even matter which level of guest you start, but you have to do it on the host release you verify. >From my POV verification-needed-xenial was only removed by "you" (=bugproxy) >but not yet set to be done (or anything else) and the commends are unclear to >me :-/. I'll fix that up to have it as -needed again. TL;DR: Yes it is needed for Xenial and Zesty as well. Once Xenial and Zesty are done as well, then also set the global verification-done to be complete. ** Tags added: verification-needed-xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1734856 Title: Can't boot VM with more than 16 disks (slof buffer issue) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/slof/+bug/1734856/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1725863] Re: Logitech G930 drops connection and reconnects in 17.10 (But not in 17.04)
Sorry for the delay. I'm involved in hundreds of different bugs and lose track... I suggest the next step is to reproduce the problem with 18.04 and see if similar errors appear in your journal (run 'journalctl'): Oct 21 17:23:33 hostname pulseaudio[1288]: [alsa-sink-USB Audio] alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there was actually nothing to write. Oct 21 17:23:33 hostname pulseaudio[1288]: [alsa-sink-USB Audio] alsa-sink.c: Most likely this is a bug in the ALSA driver 'snd_usb_audio'. Please report this issue to the ALSA developers. Oct 21 17:23:33 hostname pulseaudio[1288]: [alsa-sink-USB Audio] alsa-sink.c: We were woken up with POLLOUT set -- however a subsequent snd_pcm_avail() returned 0 or another value < min_avail. Alternatively, don't change Ubuntu version at all, and just try the latest kernels: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D Essentially we want to know: (1) Was there an older kernel where it ever did work? (2) Is the bug still there in the latest kernels? If not, then exactly what version fixed it? (3) Otherwise, does the bug always occur when those error messages above appear? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => Incomplete ** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1725863 Title: Logitech G930 drops connection and reconnects in 17.10 (But not in 17.04) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1725863/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1740809] [NEW] Folder says Empty when it is not empty
Public bug reported: The folder/directory list on the left side of gthumb says "(Empty)" below a folder when that folder has no subdirectories, even though the folder is NOT empty: it contains photos! This is misleading and apt to cause the user -- such as me! -- to accidentally delete photos by deleting a non-empty directory thinking that it is empty. If the user clicks on the folder/directory name, then normally thumbnails are displayed on the right, so that can help alert the user to the presence of photos in that folder in spite of the fact that it says "(Empty)". However, this is not a reliable enough way to prevent accidental photo deletion, because: 1. gthumb might currently be displaying the contents of a completely different folder. For example, on the attached screenshot on the right the thumbnails of folder 12-11-22 are displayed, but a DIFFERENT folder (2012-11-26) has been right-clicked to pop up its menu in order to delete it, because gthumb (misleadingly) says "(Empty)" under that folder. 2. When a folder contains a LOT of photos, gthumb sometimes takes a long time before displaying any thumbnails, which can give the appearance of the folder being empty! 3. As I previously mentioned, the folder list on the left explicitly says "(Empty)". Please do not display the word "(Empty)" below a folder name unless that folder really is EMPTY, i.e., it contains no folders or other files. It is dangerously misleading and is not needed. This was tested on gthumb 3.4.3 on Ubuntu 16.04. ** Affects: gthumb (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Screenshots" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740809/+attachment/5029908/+files/Screenshot%20from%202018-01-01%2020-54-12.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740809 Title: Folder says Empty when it is not empty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/1740809/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1716654] Re: [System Product Name, Realtek ALC1220, Pink Mic, Rear] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound
I wanted to add to the above, while the crackling was heavily present for youtube, an mp3 played in clementine, and an mp4 video file in smplayer, I ran ubuntu-bug -s audio, and the test tones were all clear, except for a brief moment of static at the very last second. [Bug 1716654] Re: [System Product Name, Realtek ALC1220, Pink Mic, Rear] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound
I am also affected by this bug. my system uses these codecs /proc/asound/card0/codec#0:Codec: ATI R6xx HDMI /proc/asound/card1/codec#0:Codec: Realtek ALC1220 on an Asus Prime x370a Pro motherboard with a ryzen 1600X. This problem was first observed in Ubuntu 16.04.3, with kernel 4.4 and the 1201 bios for this board. The board is now running 3401, and Ubuntu 17.10, in order to have access to a more recent kernel. I installed the hwe update to 16.04 first, bringing my kernel version to 4.10 or 4.11, but it made the login screen and all terminals distorted and unreadable, so I was unable to test in that state - a state repeated after the clean install of 17.10, but which I found was due to ubuntu trying to set an ultra wide resolution to my 4k monitor, and being unable to display 4k i I corrected by switching from HDMI to Display Link Cable. In the prior configuration I confirmed that the distortion occurred over the HDMI to my monitor speakers, as well as over the analog jack output. In my case, the distortion sounds identical to the recording made by Gargoyle above, and seemed to come and go in 16.04.3. using pulseaudio -k in a terminal gets rid of the problem for 10 minutes to several hours (or, perhaps it comes and goes away on its own and i miss it). In addition, if it is of consequence, I had been running Ubuntu 16.04 since launch on a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R board's sound with no problems. After swapping the board to the Asus prime X370a pro 3 weeks ago, this problem appeared. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1716654 Title: [System Product Name, Realtek ALC1220, Pink Mic, Rear] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1716654/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had this problem using Kubuntu 16.04 and KDE 5.5.5.
