[Bug 1741992] [1/3] powerpc/modules: Add REL24 relocation support of livepatch symbols
--- Comment on attachment From kamale...@in.ibm.com 2018-01-09 01:39 EDT--- Livepatch re-uses module loader function apply_relocate_add() to write relocations, instead of managing them by arch-dependent klp_write_module_reloc() function. apply_relocate_add() doesn't understand livepatch symbols (marked with SHN_LIVEPATCH symbol section index) and assumes them to be local symbols by default for R_PPC64_REL24 relocation type. It fails with an error, when trying to calculate offset with local_entry_offset(): module_64: kpatch_meminfo: REL24 -1152921504897399800 out of range! Whereas livepatch symbols are essentially SHN_UNDEF, should be called via stub used for global calls. This issue can be fixed by teaching apply_relocate_add() to handle both SHN_UNDEF/SHN_LIVEPATCH symbols via the same stub. This patch extends SHN_UNDEF code to handle livepatch symbols too. ** Attachment added: "[1/3] powerpc/modules: Add REL24 relocation support of livepatch symbols" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1741992/+attachment/5033167/+files/0001-powerpc-modules-Add-REL24-relocation-support-of-live.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1741992 Title: kpatch - Add livepatch hook support for ppc64le To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-power-systems/+bug/1741992/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1717714] Re: @{pid} variable broken on systems with pid_max more than 6 digits
Hi Seyeong, Here's some sponsoring notes that will require minor change. While waiting for the build farm ... #1 - Can you make sure (if not already) to forward/submit the patch to debian upstream against apparmor ? Which is a requirement for the patch to land in Ubuntu. Then we can request a coredev to sponsor the devel release (bionic), and then start the SRU. #2 - Seems like the good upstream commit number for the change is "ad94da321ba51e247b2df82a96cb9d83d47b887e" ? Can you double-check ? If you confirm, please change the commit number where it applies. #3 - Change "Origin:" in the DEP3 header Origin: upstream, https://gitlab.com/apparmor/apparmor/commit/ad94da321ba51e247b2df82a96cb9d83d47b887e (or using the proper commit (see #2)) #4 - Change "Bug-Ubuntu:" in DEP3 header using the short LP bug url From Bug-Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/1717714 To Bug-Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1717714 #5 - Review the package versions. Worst case I'll do it myself later when I'll be ready to upload. Example taken from trusty debdiff: Going from "2.10.95-0ubuntu2.6~14.04.1" to "2.10.95-0ubuntu2.7~14.04.1" is wrong. It's preferable to use "2.10.95-0ubuntu2.6~14.04.2" Thanks & let me know if you have any questions. - Eric ** Tags added: sts-sponsor-slashd -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1717714 Title: @{pid} variable broken on systems with pid_max more than 6 digits To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apparmor/+bug/1717714/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1741839] Re: gdm3 lock screen (not log in) freezes sometime
No thanks, we don't need any of those. I suggest next you should: 1. Install SSH: sudo apt install openssh-server 2. Log into the affected machine remotely from a second machine using ssh. 3. On the second machine start watching the log: journalctl -f 4. On the affected machine: reproduce the freeze. 5. Copy/screenshot/photo the final state of the log and provide it here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1741839 Title: gdm3 lock screen (not log in) freezes sometime To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1741839/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! [This is an automated message. [Bug 213215] Re: Please include original cdrecord (cdrtools) package in Ubuntu
now I thought I fixed it, because it at least looked like it burned the whole disc, by doing.. sudo apt-get install libdvdcss dvd+rw-tools libbrasero-media3-dev brasero put swap on with gparted and don't close gparted until dvd is burned use my usb burner instead of internal choose explicitly to open the iso as an iso, don't use autdetect or the image will say it is too big for a 4.7gb disc went all the way, then did a checksum then ejected the disc but when I reclosed the dvd there is no drive detected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213215 Title: Please include original cdrecord (cdrtools) package in Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/213215/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
