[Bug 1746587] Re: my bug's
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1746587 Title: my bug's To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1746587/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1746661] [NEW] [linux-oem] Use I2C transport for touchpad on Precision M5530
Public bug reported: === SRU Justification === [Impact] Touchpad on Precision M5530 uses PS/2 instead of I2C as its transport. [Test Case] The touchpad binds to psmouse instead of i2c_hid. With the patch, the touchpad uses i2c_hid instead. [Fix] LKML Link: https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/1/30/963 The de facto standard, Windows, parse its DSDT as a term list. The DSDT table on Precision M5530 also designed that way, hence we should just respect that. Add a new quirk for this specific machine. I'll backport the patch for stable releases once it's upstreamed. [Regression Potential] Low. This fix is limited to XPS 15 9570/Precision M5530. Christopher M. Penalver, It was what I did. Since the system crashes, I can't do nothing without reboot manually in the hardware button. All logs are from reboot after the crash, it's the only way to submit them. I remember an error from a year ago that looked like panic kernel. [Bug 1743249] Re: Failed Deployment after timeout trying to retrieve grub cfg
Regarding grub requesting the same file 4 times, a surprising finding: I'm able to reproduce this with files of a certain length. By chance my grub.cfg was 1 byte shorter than the one maas serves (269 bytes instead of 270), and I saw multiple requests for this file. To reproduce this in a VM using UEFI: - set up dhcp to point to bootx64.efi - set up tftp with bootx64.efi and grubx64.efi but not grub/grub.cfg - create files of varying sizes and access them using 'source (pxe)/config-file-on-server' A simple file consisting of nothing but newlines is sufficient. confirmed "good" file lengths: 1,2,3,4,266,268,270 confirmed "bad" file lengths: 267,269,271,584,595,627 No pattern established yet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1743249 Title: Failed Deployment after timeout trying to retrieve grub cfg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1743249/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Among the calls Vdsm periodically run to monitor the VM state: virConnectGetAllDomainStats virDomainListGetStats virDomainGetBlockIoTune virDomainBlockJobInfo virDomainGetBlockInfo virDomainGetVcpus We know from experience storage may get unresponsive/unreachable, so QEMU monitor calls can hang, leading in turn to libvirt call to hang. Vdsm does the monitoring using a thread pool. Should one of the worker thread become unresponsive, it is replaced. To avoid to stall libvirt, and to leak threads undefinitely, Vdsm has one additional protection layer: it inspects libvirt state before to call which go down to QEMU, using code like def isDomainReadyForCommands(self): try: state, details, stateTime = self._dom.controlInfo() except virdomain.NotConnectedError: # this method may be called asynchronously by periodic # operations. Thus, we must use a try/except block # to avoid racy checks. return False except libvirt.libvirtError as e: if e.get_error_code() == libvirt.VIR_ERR_NO_DOMAIN: return False else: raise else: return state == libvirt.VIR_DOMAIN_CONTROL_OK Vdsm actually issues the potentially hanging call if and only if the call above returns True (hence virDomainControlInfo() state is VIR_DOMAIN_CONTROL_OK) When the NFS server is unreachable, the protection layer in Vdsm triggers, and Vdsm avoid to send libvirt calls. After a while, however we see virDomainGetControlInfo() calls not responding anymore, like (full log attached) 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: debug : virThreadJobSet:96 : Thread 3069 (virNetServerHandleJob) is now running job remoteDispatchDomainGetVcpus 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: info : virObjectNew:202 : OBJECT_NEW: obj=0x7f5a70004070 classname=virDomain 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: info : virObjectRef:296 : OBJECT_REF: obj=0x7f5a5c000ec0 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: debug : virDomainGetVcpus:7733 : dom=0x7f5a70004070, (VM: name=a1, uuid=048f8624-03fc-4729-8f4d-12cb4387f018), info=0x7f5a70002140, maxinfo=2, cpumaps=0x7f5a70002200, maplen=1 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: info : virObjectRef:296 : OBJECT_REF: obj=0x7f5a64009bf0 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: info : virObjectRef:296 : OBJECT_REF: obj=0x7f5a930f6f00 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: debug : virAccessManagerCheckDomain:234 : manager=0x7f5a930f6f00(name=stack) driver=QEMU domain=0x7f5a64012c40 perm=1 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: debug : virAccessManagerCheckDomain:234 : manager=0x7f5a930ebdf0(name=none) driver=QEMU domain=0x7f5a64012c40 perm=1 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: info : virObjectUnref:259 : OBJECT_UNREF: obj=0x7f5a930f6f00 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: debug : qemuGetProcessInfo:1486 : Got status for 3500/3505 user=1507 sys=209 cpu=1 rss=531128 2016-05-18 06:01:45.920+: 3069: debug :

@Robert: Actually, X-Gene is supported on trusty, which is non-GICv3, but your point is taken. I personally think option #3 would be the best option, but wasn't sure of the feasibility. However, I've been working on the necessary kernel backports in the background over the past week, and I now have something working that looks pretty clean/minimal. I'm doing some regression testing now, and plan to submit to the kernel team later this week. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: Incomplete => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released ** Changed in: edk2 (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1744754 Title: qemu-efi-aarch64 in >= artful can't boot xenial cloud images To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-images/+bug/1744754/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1746631] [NEW] livecd-rootfs 2.496 needs a PROPOSED=1 build test before release to bionic
Public bug reported: After livecd-rootfs 2.495 landed in bionic release pocket, all livefs builds began to fail because launchpad builders were trying to reach people.canonical.com (for germinate) and could not. Per cjwatson, the current fqdns for launchpad builders are *.ppa or *.scalingstack, not *.buildd. However, it's difficult from the outside to be sure that this is what the builder VMs themselves believe. 2.496 has been uploaded with a change to the hostname matching, but before it lands in bionic release again (where 2.495 has been reverted), we should get an explicit cross-architecture test livefs build with PROPOSED=1 to confirm that it works as expected. ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: block-proposed ** Tags added: block-proposed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1746631 Title: livecd-rootfs 2.496 needs a PROPOSED=1 build test before release to bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd-rootfs/+bug/1746631/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Also, have you tried what I wrote in comment #8, stopping systemd- networkd, restarting with the debugging enabled, and reproducing the issue in a browser (and then attaching the logs here)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1727237 Title: systemd-resolved is not finding a domain To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1727237/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1736390] Re: openvswitch: kernel oops destroying interfaces on i386
The 4.10 based kernel does not experience this hang, but I am seeing it with 4.12. Maybe the 4.12 based kernels does in fact have the bug. I'll test further to find out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1736390 Title: openvswitch: kernel oops destroying interfaces on i386 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1736390/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1709164] Re: [MIR] bubblewrap
Please try to review the bionic version instead of the artful version ;) Those files were moved to a patch and the patch should be able to be dropped in the next upstream release: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/bubblewrap/raw/debian/master/debian/patches/dist/Add-missing-files-from-upstream-git.patch Those files are shipped in the bubblewrap binary package in /usr/share/doc/bubblewrap/examples/ Is that a problem? Do we need to split the examples into a separate package that we wouldn't need to be install by default? (They don't take up much space.) Here's a bug for the binary BPF file: https://github.com/projectatomic/bubblewrap/issues/250 ** Bug watch added: github.com/projectatomic/bubblewrap/issues #250 https://github.com/projectatomic/bubblewrap/issues/250 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1709164 Title: [MIR] bubblewrap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bubblewrap/+bug/1709164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Just tested in a bionic i386 VM, and unfortunately neither your build of 4.13.0-17 nor upstream 4.15 make the situation better.
