[Bug 1762536] Re: double tap on touchpad isn't recognized as double click on ubuntu 18.04 bionic
watching the content of the evemu-record, the only different between double-tap on the touchpad and double-click on the mouse buttons below the touchpad i saw, is the timing. double-tap is way faster than the double-click. double-tap: 6ms..11ms between tap-release vs. double-click: 79ms..137ms between click-release going back to ubuntu 18.04 daily-live is made sligktly slower double-tap on the touchpad with the result, that some of the slower double-taps were recognized as double-click. is there somewhere a kind of "debouncing"-algorithm that let the double- tap recognized as "bouncing" and is filtered out - so it is only seen as single-click... ? ** Attachment added: "evemu-record of the device" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libinput/+bug/1762536/+attachment/5111696/+files/recording.evemu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1762536 Title: double tap on touchpad isn't recognized as double click on ubuntu 18.04 bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libinput/+bug/1762536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1763232] [NEW] Width and Update Interval Optons do not Save
Public bug reported: Package: mate-applets 1.20.1-0ubuntu1 Release: 18.04 Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch) Version: 1.20.1-0ubuntu1 Expected: Changes to System Monitor applet width and System monitor update interval save and are persistent following a reboot. Actual: Changes to System Monitor applet width and System Monitor update interval do not save and return to default states following a reboot. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In Ubuntu Mate, right-click on a panel and click "Add to Panel..." 2. Add System Monitor applet to Panel 3. Right click on System Monitor applet in Panel 4. Click Preferences 5. In "System Monitor Preferences" window, go to "Options" section and change the values for "System monitor width:" and "System monitor update interval" (I changed to 80 pixels and 1 milliseconds, respectively) 6. Click "Close" to close (and save) changed width and update interval options 7. System monitor width and System monitor update interval appears to change as expected, HOWEVER now try the following: 8. Right click on System Monitor applet in Panel 9. Click Preferences 10. In "System Monitor Preferences" window, under "Options" section, the values shown for "System monitor width:" and "System monitor update interval" have reverted to default values ***even though the applet itself remains at user-set values*** The values displayed in the System Monitor Preferences dialog are now inconsistent with the appearance of the applet, which is incorrect behavior. 11. Change the values for "System monitor width:" and "System monitor update interval" to match the appearance of the applet (I changed to 80 pixels and 1 milliseconds, respectively) 12. Click "Close" to close (and save) changed pixels and milliseconds settings 13. Right click on System Monitor applet in Panel 14. Click "Lock To Panel 15. Reboot computer 16. Upon reboot and login, system monitor applet width and update interval have reverted to default values, ignoring user-set values. This is incorrect behavior. ** Affects: mate-desktop Importance: Unknown Status: New ** Affects: mate-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: applet monitor system -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1763232 Title: Width and Update Interval Optons do not Save To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mate-desktop/+bug/1763232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1748095] Re: Non-root user can reboot machine from the command line
I sometimes need to reboot a server that I'm logged into. In this case, I got the wrong gnome-terminal tab by mistake and rebooted my laptop instead, losing all my current work, which was an extremely suboptimal outcome. I checked rebooting from another user when my first user logged in, and it didn't let me do it - it told me the command to try, however, which did require authentication. (Rebooting from the system menu didn't work at all, it just silently failed, but that's another matter.) I agree typing reboot into a terminal is not something that desktop users typically do - in which case, why support it? [Bug 1761751] Re: Black screen on 18.04 + AMD RX460
Kernel 4.15rc2+78d9b048446c3c0a83313444fb706f8f3bccdae7: Black screen. Note: I installed the linux-image-...-generic deb only as the header ones seemed to require libssl1.1...? Anyway, I did some research on my own as well. First, I had a look at the commits between 4.15rc2 and 4.15rc3. The only one I could see being relevant is this one: commit a703c55004e1c5076d57e43771b3e7796ea0 Author: Daniel VetterDate: Mon Dec 4 21:48:18 2017 +0100 drm: safely free connectors from connector_iter ...it seems relevant because the error I get is "Cannot find any crtc or sizes", and the code emitting this error message (in drivers/gpu/drm/drm_fb_helper.c) deals with connectors. This commit is then referenced in other commits later on as being required to fix, but since 4.16 is "black screen" too those fixes seems not have helped here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1761751 Title: Black screen on 18.04 + AMD RX460 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1761751/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But with this: override_dh_translations: dh_translations --domain=gnome-control-center-2.0 both the POT creation and the rest work fine. gnome-calculator creates the POT and tweaks the .desktop file nicely without any overrides. [Bug 1340734] Re: oem-config missing from installed system after OEM mode setup using EFI boot
I'm seeing this doing an EFI OEM install on 16.04.4 server. I've attached the relevant part of the install syslog. The problem is exactly as described in the original post. It is installing oem-config-debconf, which depends on ubiquity, which recommends grub-pc | grub | grub-efi. As grub-efi is not installed, (only grub-efi-amd64 is in my case), this causes a conflict. This doesn't happen in the desktop version because ubiquity is already installed in the target system. The grub-efi-[arch] packages should probably have a common Provides that ubiquity can recommend instead of the grub-efi package. ** Attachment added: "syslog" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1340734/+attachment/5111435/+files/syslog -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1340734 Title: oem-config missing from installed system after OEM mode setup using EFI boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1340734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
