fresh install of ubuntu 18.04.1 lts on a PC previously using 16.04 lts 32bits.
I chose options to make sure that I would not loose the content of /home
directories.
I got an error message "sorry, grub could not be installed, your installation
will not be able to start".

By the way, the midisport-firmware rule file lies in
/etc/udev/rules.d/42-midisport-firmware.rules still works.

I was using M-Audio Oxygen Keyboard in udev v237, Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
According to lots of the changes in udev since v136,
the rules configuration of this package (from sourceforge) is out of date.
The newest fix I can find is in following repo:

I just upgraded gscan2pdf 1.3.9 to the ppa version 2.1.3, still using
ubuntu 16.04.
After the upgrade, sending pdf via email no longer works whereas it
worked before with 1.3.9 (regression). As a mail program, I'm using
thunderbird as before.
Attached is the dialog box: When
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
