I've re-run zsync for latest image; no 'ehci-pci' messages on either
dc7700 or 755 for Xubuntu x86 (but both drop to BusyBox/initramfs)

I've encountered the same error, on Mint 19 - based on Ubuntu 18.04 -
with kernel 4.19.0-041900rc4-generic.
I encountered the problem while trying to re-enable my touchpad after
resume from sleep - on the infamous Lenovo X1 Carbon Sixth Generation.

We won't need a MIR because libblockdev already has multiple components
in universe. [1] We'll just need to update the exclude list in the
ubuntu seed. [2]
We just did the update in Debian and haven't build the new vdo [3] and
nvdimm plugins yet.
