There aren't any crash files and there aren't any relevant errors at errors.ubuntu.com. The x201's native OS is Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (x86_64), the native OS for dc7700 is Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (x86_64), but whilst we haven't proven the debian issue is the problem, it relates to i686 only (not amd64). I can add the kernel to the x201 (if it had HWE enabled, it'd almost be there anyway), but I don't expect issues on amd64. Still an issue. Text on pages in Firefox and text in Qt applications (for example, TortoiseHg, VirtualBox), Sublime Text not affected. Some text not just disappear, but rendered as random pixels. Oh, I see what's going on, this piece of code used to be running AFTER we setup our custom /etc for the snap (which includes the real host nsswitch.conf) but now that it's moved over when we setup socket activation, this isn't true anymore. Public bug reported: Due to a change in vte, xfce4-terminal on ubuntu no longer updates utmp, which leaves terminal sessions invisible to basic unix commands like who, wall, and write. However, it has a build-time option to fix this problem via libutempter. It would be nice if this option was enabled on ubuntu.
