[Bug 1797032] Re: xubuntu 18.10 daily x86 - suspend, on wake i have no mouse-pointer (nvidia/nouveau)
I've re-ran this test on another system (different video card) & no issue. re-tested (daily-iso) trying to cause bug on same machine -- yes re-created briefly, but within 30 seconds mouse-pointer appeared (before I worked out where mouse-pointer was) copying (slightly edited) from QA-report http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/390/builds/182196/testcases/1303/results/ 2018-10-10 02:39 hp dx6120mt (mini-tower, pentium 4 dual core, 3gb, nvidia 7600gt) re-run of test but focusing only on suspending & mouse-pointer post-wake... using `sudo systemctl suspend`, waiting briefly & then wake - mouse-pointer was okay repeated twice more `sudo systemctl suspend`, wait & wake - mouse pointer okay. put to sleep with menu (like prior test; mouse over terminal), waited then awoke - mouse pointer okay. put to sleep with menu (again, mouse over nothing but wallpaper), waited then awoke - NO MOUSE POINTER -- yet this time it came good on its on, before I worked out where pointer was & before I could get to menu... yes I could re-create bug briefly; but then okay.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797032 Title: xubuntu 18.10 daily x86 - suspend, on wake i have no mouse-pointer (nvidia/nouveau) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xubuntu-meta/+bug/1797032/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1770082] Re: systemd-networkd not renaming devices on boot
Hi, This works on reboot but not so well after the system boots. Say I have the following file: network: version: 2 ethernets: ens7: dhcp4: true match: macaddress: 52:54:00:b4:02:6e set-name: myif1 optional: true If I reboot, everything is fine: ubuntu@netplan2:~$ ip l 1: lo: mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 2: ens3: mtu 1500 qdisc fq_codel state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/ether 52:54:00:d2:9b:b5 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 3: myif1: mtu 1500 qdisc fq_codel state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/ether 52:54:00:b4:02:6e brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff But if I now change set-name to myif0, I can't get it to change the name 'live'. To get mouse back, I select menu (top left), then move mouse over menu and pointer re-appears. It returns only if I move mouse over the [main] menu when selected. [Bug 1796544] Re: [regression] Cosmic ISO contains no working wifi driver for Macbook Air
In the cosmic live session: $ ubuntu-drivers list bcmwl-kernel-source And yes you're right - the driver is in the ISO, but under /cdrom/pool... For some reason I thought any restricted drivers available in the ISO would be active before the installer started. So choosing "Restricted Add-ons" while I had no wifi would be pointless. But it's not. I think this behaviour has changed compared to older releases. So this bug is invalid in the original form. I will reword it into something that's a real bug. Thanks :) ** Summary changed: - [regression] Cosmic ISO contains no working wifi driver for Macbook Air + Macbook Air wifi driver (bcmwl-kernel-source) is not active in a live session till you run the installer ** Description changed: - Cosmic ISO (20181004) contains no working wifi driver for Macbook Air. - - In previous releases it contained package bcmwl-kernel-source for the - 'wl' kernel module but not any more.
