[Bug 1793028] Re: NetBSD CVE Patch Regression

2018-11-08 Thread  Christian Ehrhardt 
I should have read it more carefully, 2nd pass of reading makes it better.
The CVE is obviously fixed but it introduced a regression.

Still, having Marc and Jamie subscribed is the right next step to
evaluate a re-fix through the -security pocket.

[Bug 1802462] [NEW] When s390-tools-zkey package is not installed 'zkey -h' lists wrong package name in apt hint

2018-11-08 Thread bugproxy
Public bug reported:

OS: Ubuntu 18.10 providing s390-tools_2.6.0-0ubuntu7_s390x.deb
When the 's390-tools-zkey' package is NOT installed, the installation hint
given by zkey -h is not as expected

Environment:
IBM Z 13 or Z 14 LPAR or z/VM

Details
===
On an IBM Z13 or Z14 based Ubuntu 18.10 system where the 'zkey' tool is not yet
installed,
the installation hint given by zkey is misleading.
The hint should read: 'apt install s390-tools-zkey'

The apt-cache search for zkey displays the expected package name,
though.

Ran the above install command which succeeded as expected, the zkey tool was
available.

[Bug 1793028] Re: NetBSD CVE Patch Regression

2018-11-08 Thread  Christian Ehrhardt 
The security team lists that [1] CVE as fixed already.
I don't see it in [2] that is supposed to fix it thou.

I subscribed Marc and Jamie to help us sorting out if this is:
a) fixed in a different way
b) mistriaged to be fixed but actually still an issue

[Bug 1801666] Re: FTBFS in Bionic - seems due to newer wireshark

2018-11-08 Thread  Christian Ehrhardt 
Hi Balint,
thanks - I just came to the same a few minutes ago - I should have checked
updates first.

The new libvirt works as it has libwiretap-dev explicitly specified.
That would be [1]

Since we might have broken more I agree on fixing it in libwireshark-dev

Not worth a libvirt SRU on it's own, but I queued the libvirt change in the
Ubuntu packaging git [2] thou (no upload planned atm), so if any urgent SRU
comes in it will "just work" to build.
If before that wireshark is fixed it still is not bad to have that.

Therefore marking the libvirt portion as committed and low - I'd
appreciate a fix to wireshark as we don't know who else we might have
broken.

[Bug 1734960] Re: Bluetooth headset profile HSP/HFP doesn't work

2018-11-08 Thread nasatome
I have a Bluedio F2 headset, I have exactly the same problem in two
devices (A2DP works but HSP no), a Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15IKB Laptop with
Ubuntu Mate 18.04 and a Desktop Computer with a 6 dollar USB Dongle
bought in Gearbest with Ubuntu 18.10. the bug is still active.

I'm not a Linux expert, but both BlueZ (Gnome) and BlueMan have the same
problem of not supporting HSP mode

In ubuntu 18.04 I made tests with the application "Ukku" to downgrade
the kernel 4.14 and upgrade to version 4.19 thinking that the problem
could be out there. (default kernel 4.15)

the headphones Bluedio F2 works correctly on Windows computer and
Android phones (Xiaomi RedMi Note 4)

On the same Lenovo computer with Ubuntu Mate 18.04 I have tried a
Panasonic SHB4000 headset and if they work properly with the HSP mode
and A2DP

I have noticed that the PavuControl application detects the audio input
as if it were a "Monitor" or something like that (attach screenshot)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend
performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections and using software tools
to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not
in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to
New. Thanks and good luck!

[Bug 1789527] Re: Galera agent doesn't work when grastate.dat contains safe_to_bootstrap

2018-11-08 Thread Aymen Frikha
Hi Andreas,

Thank you very much for the package provided. It works fine for me.
You can reproduce the bug when you deploy hacluster charm as a subordinate
service for percona cluster. It will deploy Pacemaker, put the vip and the
resource agent to manage Percona cluster.
It will use galera resource agent to controle percona database because they use
same clustering mechanism.
The hacluster charm uses packages from xenial main repository. Is it possible
to backport the patch to it ?

Thanks

2018-11-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package unattended-upgrades - 1.7

---
unattended-upgrades (1.7) unstable; urgency=medium

  [ Nils Toedtmann ]
  * Clarify 'A reboot is required' warning, that the requirement might stem
from a previous run

  [ Balint Reczey ]
  * Build depend on and run pycodestyle, the replacement of pep8
  * autopkgtest: Clean up after failed debootstrap to retry cleanly
  * Handle when unattended-upgrades stopped without
unattended-upgrade-shutdown sending SIGTERM (LP: #1795657)
  * Don't crash on missing dpkg log file (LP: #1795692)
  * do_auto_remove() is successful unless a commit() operation fails
(LP: #1795696)
  * Check only dowloaded .deb files for conffile prompts (LP: #1796100)
  * Recommend systemd-sysv as the first alternative of cron.
Unattended-upgrades is started via systemd timers or by the .service file
on the default Debian and Ubuntu installations without cron's involvement.
Systems without systemd-sysv can still install unattended-upgrades and run
it via cron.
  * Only suggest python3-gi and skip check for metered connection when it is
missing (Closes: #909543)
  * Only suggest powermgmt-base amd skip checking power status when it is not
present
  * Show message about missing optional dependencies only once
  * Add configuration file option to enable verbose and debug logging.
Thanks to Paul Wise
  * Revert to running unattended-upgrades.service in multi-user.target
  * Trigger unattended-upgrade-shutdown actions with PrepareForShutdown()
Performing upgrades in service's ExecStop did not work when the upgrades
involved restarting services because systemd blocked other stop/start
actions making maintainer scripts time out and be killed leaving a broken
system behind.
Running unattended-upgrades.service before shutdown.target as a oneshot
service made it run after unmounting filesystems and scheduling services
properly on shutdown is a complex problem and adding more services to the
mix make it even more fragile.
The solution of monitoring PrepareForShutdown() signal from DBus
allows Unattended Upgrade to run _before_ the jobs related to shutdown are
queued thus package upgrades can safely restart services without
risking causing deadlocks or breaking part of the shutdown actions.
Also ask running unattended-upgrades to stop when shutdown starts even in
InstallOnShutdown mode and refactor most of unattended-upgrade-shutdown to
UnattendedUpgradesShutdown class. (LP: #1778219)
  * Handle reverting to WantedBy=multi-user.target when upgrading from 1.5 or
1.6
  * debian/postinst: Redirect stdout from systemctl and deb-systemd-invoke to
stderr and skip running systemctl start unattended-upgrades.service when
unattended-upgrades is already running to avoid deadlock.
  * Increase logind's InhibitDelayMaxSec to 30s.
This allows more time for unattended-upgrades to shut down gracefully
or even install a few packages in InstallOnShutdown mode, but is still a
big step back from the 30 minutes allowed for InstallOnShutdown previously.
Users enabling InstallOnShutdown node are advised to increase
InhibitDelayMaxSec even further, possibly to 30 minutes.

  [ Brian Murray ]
  * unattended-upgrades: Do not automatically upgrade the development release
of Ubuntu unless Unattended-Upgrade::DevRelease is true. (LP: #1649709)

  [ Julian Andres Klode ]
  * Do not run on development releases until 21 days before release.
This works for Ubuntu, and is only enabled there. Also explicitly
log those messages to syslog, so a user can easily find them and
then dig for more information in the u-u log.

Re: [Bug 1802354] Re: iscsid does not run if there are only initramfs initiated targets

2018-11-08 Thread Scott Moser
@Steve,

That feels overly indirect.
If open-iscsi.service (or anything) knows that iscsid should be running,
then why be sly?

Thats essentially what we were trying to do, and in some cases it didn't
work. Starting a persistent daemon by requesting to list the current
sessions seems like an arbitrary side-effect.

fwiw, in my testing here 'iscsiadm -m session -s' ends up connecting to
the socket (thus starting the service) and writing:
iscsiadm: Could not execute operation on all sessions: session not found
and then exiting 2.
That is all working "as designed".

If we want to start the service, or make sure that its running. It seems
better just to start the service. If we want to do that by the indirect
mechanism of connecting to a socket, then I suggest we do *that* directly
like in 'connect-abstract-socket.py':

  #!/usr/bin/python3
from socket import socket, AF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM
  import sys
  name = "ISCSIADM_ABSTRACT_NAMESPACE" if len(sys.argv) < 2 else sys.argv[1]
  print("Connecting to @%s" % name)
  socket(AF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM).connect(('\0' + name))
  print("Connected to @%s" % name)

[Bug 1802366] Re: i dont know

2018-11-08 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1801602] Re: Gnome 3 fullscreen doesn't work for some applications

2018-11-08 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Sounds like equal blame on the application, window manager (mutter) and
the user :)

* Application: Is 640x480 still so may be to blame for ignoring window
resize requests.

* Window manager: May be ignoring the "Fullscreen" state on the
window(?). But not sure, since it works with the above workaround.

* User: Added custom mode "960x540" which seems to be confusing the
system.

** Summary changed:

- Gnome 3 fullscreen doesn't work for some applications
+ Gnome 3 fullscreen doesn't work for some applications when a custom display
mode (960x540) is active

** No longer affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu)
