[Bug 247590] Re: main inclusion request: trousers

2018-12-06 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Hi, this 2008 promotion was auto-demoted in Bionic for an upstream
change in Strongswan no more holding it in place. That is fixed in the
recent Bionic upload triggering this old component mismatch again. I'd
ask an AA to re-promote libtspi1 for that in Disco and assigned the AA's
to the Disco Task that I added.

[Bug 1807335] Re: LP1800649 - Add support for NVIDIA GPU passthrough

2018-12-06 Thread Frank Heimes
Is this just a duplicate of LP 1800649? (Now coming in via the
ubuntu-power-system project.)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1800649
or is it meant to be the libvirt part of LP 1800649,
or is this a request to move this feature over from the custom to the generic
package(s)?

Please provide some more details - thx.

[Bug 1807246] Re: after upgrading to bionic, my session forgets who I am frequently

2018-12-06 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Hi the only thing that comes to my mind would be the default values of
the enumeration cache timeouts. those are in the 2-5 minute range.

Check [1] for enum_cache_timeout and related entries.
Maybe create a script that does "while true; sleep 10s; date; check UID; done"
Then you can check how long it takes to forget in your case.
Bump all kind of these timeouts and repeat.
If it helps take them back one by one until you have found which timeout it is
in your case.
Then we would at least already know which sub-cache it is that forgets your
user.

You could also play with the "enumerate" option in general.
What have you set atm, how does it behave when you switch it to the other value
.
Something like [3] could be related to that.

Also could you check your logs if it could be anything like [2] as it
reads very similar.

I also asked a friend actually knowing sssd better than I do, maybe he
has some hints later on.

[Bug 1807334] [NEW] Add support for ALC3277 codec on new Dell edge gateways

2018-12-06 Thread Jesse Sung
Public bug reported:

There are two audio jacks on the device, one for Line-in and the other
for Line-out.

Audio over these jacks is supported through Realtek ALC3277 (RT5660)
audio codec connected to the Processor/SoC over I2C. While the kernel
already has the driver for the Codec, we still need a machine driver to
connect audio FrontEnds provided by the Codec to the Intel SST Audio
BackEnds.

[Bug 1807333] [NEW] Add support for 0cf3:535b QCA_ROME device

2018-12-06 Thread Jesse Sung
Public bug reported:

== Impact ==
0cf3:535b is not full functioning with the current in-kernel driver. For
example, it doesn't work with a BLE keyboard.

== Fix ==
It is a QCA_ROME device. Should mark it so in the device ID table to make it
work properly.

== Test Case ==
Try to use this module with a BLE keyboard. It is expected to work without
problem, but instead it can't even find the keyboard.

== Risk of Regression ==
Very low. This is already in upstream, and proved working in QA lab.

[Bug 1784152] Re: i2c_hid_get_input floods system logs

2018-12-06 Thread Scott Silliman
I was having the same issue on a dell inspiron 15 7000, with more

i2c_hid i2c-ELAN2097:00: i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (67/65535)

records in my logs per second than I cared to count.

adding 'acpi_osi=' to GRUB_CMD_LINE_DEFAULT only seemed to succeed in disabling
my trackpad, so i quickly undid that.

I applied rekby's solution, put the machine to sleep a few times, and so
far haven't seen the issue rear it's ugly head. If it turns out that I
need to apply lscotte's solution for this particular dell model I'll
post again to let folks know.

After deleting old logs in /var/log, truncating kern.log and syslog,
I've freed up more then 50G of my pitiful 100G partition ;)

[Bug 1807325] [NEW] aqbanking wizard in GNUCash doesn't support SNI

2018-12-06 Thread Luke Faraone
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

1. Start new GNUCash
2. Online banking wizard
3. OFX backend
4. Select bank: USAA (FID 24591)

Auto-populates API url of https://service2.usaa.com/ofx/OFXServlet

"Request account list" and enter a bogus pin.

What happens:
The user gets a SSL error about a mismatch between the certificate expected and
the presented certificate's hostname of www.usaa.com.

Since visiting the API url in a browser works correctly, and I see that
services2.dropbox.com and www.usaa.com resolve to the same IP, I suspect
this is due to a lack of SNI support in GNUCash.

2018-12-06 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1807264] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Video Crash on Suspend/Hibernate

2018-12-06 Thread EDEMPCO
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

After updating to 18.04 when the system automatically
suspends/hibernates after non-use, the screen goes black, but will not
wake up by taping the space bar, nor does it display the hibernation
screen. Additionally, I'm using two screens the laptop and an external
monitor connected with the Mini Display port. When required to come out
of suspend, each screen behaves differently. The laptop screen flashes
while the external monitor may show any of these: 1) background screen
image with no tool bars or menu; 2) remains black; or 3) shows a gray
image. The only way to recover is to reboot, either by holding the power
button or Ctrl-F1 to log back into the system and use the reboot
command; only the external monitor will recover to a terminal screen.

Upgrading the kernel from 4.15 thru 4.19 does not change the
suspend/hibernation issue. It seems to be video related issue, since
HDMI port reacts differently than the Mini Display port, in that device
settings do not operate the same and changing the settings can cause the
same type of screen crash. Additionally, trying NVIDIA drivers will help
with the suspend/hibernation problem and allows the hibernation screen
to show, but is not a cure. Sometimes the NVIDIA drivers will allow it
to come back from hibernation and sometimes not. My suspicion is that
the drivers are not correct for the Intel video card.

I am also flummoxed by the fact that I cannot control
suspend/hibernation. There is no obvious way to keep the system from
suspending. Screen lock is OFF. Automatic suspend is OFF. Power button
suspend is OFF. There needs to be more control; the ability to eliminate
any and all suspend operations is a must! With this type of control, I
could have kept if from suspending until a fix is generated.

Re: [Bug 1806978] Re: no gnome-panels in gdm3 ubuntu 18.04

2018-12-06 Thread Michael Wilson
Yes, at login. I see that the syslog error
gnome-panel[1888]: Getting layout failed:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownObject: No such object path
'/NO_DBUSMENU'
is not noted in any search I did.
I decided to do unity (I am not a fan, but it seems to work). Would love to see
why gnome/gdm3 fails for me, but I can live with unity.

[Bug 1178043] Re: Print subsystem unusable on large network

2018-12-06 Thread Nick Phillips
Still a problem, although not quite as bad as before (I think someone
may have reconfigured our switches to pass rather less zeroconf etc.
traffic).

Still ridiculous to auto-add autodetected devices. Have confirmed that
if I manually remove them the damn things reappear.

[Bug 1805978] Re: ubuntu_lxc test is failed with lxc-utils package not installed

2018-12-06 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
I can see this issue again, seems that there is another new update for
it...

Running 'apt-get install --yes automake autopkgtest build-essential
cloud-image-utils dh-autoreconf lxc lxc-utils texinfo gcc-multilib liblxc1'
 Reading package lists...
 Building dependency tree...
 Reading state information...
liblxc1 is already the newest version (3.0.3-0ubuntu1~18.04.1).
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  lxc-utils : Depends: liblxc1 (= 3.0.2-0ubuntu1~18.04.1) but
3.0.3-0ubuntu1~18.04.1 is to be installed
Recommends: libpam-cgfs but it is not going to be installed

[Bug 1773993] Re: Mouse cursor having a longer trail, lagging and stuttering

2018-12-06 Thread Sebastian

"noirqdebug: Disables the code which attempts to detect and disable
unhandled interrupt sources."

--
BTW with the lowlatency kernel also happened
