[Bug 1808729] Re: MAC address pass through on RTL8153-BND for docking station
commit 9c27369f4a1393452c17e8708c1b0beb8ac59501 Author: Mario Limonciello Date: Tue Dec 11 08:16:14 2018 -0600 r8152: Add support for MAC address pass through on RTL8153-BND All previous docks and dongles that have supported this feature use the RTL8153-AD chip. RTL8153-BND is a new chip that will be used in upcoming Dell type-C docks. It should be added to the whitelist of devices to activate MAC address pass through. [Bug 1805079] Re: click/pop noise in the headphone on several lenovo laptops
For the quiet and non-quiet problem, since there is no difference between 1st and 2nd alsa-info.txt, I really have no idea what is the root cause for this problem. Probably, we can do another test: don't plug the headphone in poweroff state, poweron the machine, and let machine enter grub, then plug the headphone, after that, let machine boot linux kernel..., let us see if the headphone is still quiet or not, if not, it looks like bios do sth if plugging headphone in poweroff state. For the noise problem, since I did not hear the noise in my test two weeks ago, and I don't have machine in my hand now, I need to wait for ending of holiday (after new year holiday), then I will get the machines and redo the test. thanks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1805079 Title: click/pop noise in the headphone on several lenovo laptops To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1805079/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1809753] [NEW] HDMI screen no signal until ubuntu boots - No uefi, no grub
Public bug reported: Purchased new computer. Installed old hard drive. Uefi and grub working. Installed Ubuntu 18.04, as new install. After installing software and updates I have not seen Uefi splash or grub since. If I get into grub or UEFI I have no screen to work from as the HDMI shows yellow on its status which means no connection. Possibly has DP instead of HDMI as primary display but cannot test this until I get a suitable cable DP to HDMI. It seems to me though that the firmware update has messed this up. Motherboard has American Megatrends UEFI, Processor is i7. ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 18.04 ** Tags added: 18.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809753 Title: HDMI screen no signal until ubuntu boots - No uefi, no grub To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1809753/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1809656] Re: Small windows output corrupted in XWayland clients
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected bionic ubuntu wayland-session ** Description changed: Ubuntu 18.04 Pop!_OS flavour, AMD RX 560, AMD Ryzen 5 2400G (video disabled), proprietary AMD drivers 18.40, Gnome Wayland session, 4k monitor. I tried to use ubuntu-bug, but it says, that xwayland is not officially supported package and quit. Feel free to ask any logs or command output. The problem is, that the output is corrupted in a small windows, like popup menus that contains less than 4 lines, or certain applications that can make a window size small — like glxgears. This happens only for xwayland clients, native wayland apps are OK. [Bug 1809748] Missing required logs.
This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window: apport-collect 1809748 and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'. If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'. This change has been made by an automated script, maintained by the Ubuntu Kernel Team. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809748 Title: 8k bcache cache NULL pointer deref on mount / can't boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1809748/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1662407] Re: bcache kernel oops if creating with 8K block size
This should perhaps be moved to the kernel; its not clear that userspace is doing anything wrong. I've filed #1809748 for now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1662407 Title: bcache kernel oops if creating with 8K block size To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcache-tools/+bug/1662407/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1809748] [NEW] 8k bcache cache NULL pointer deref on mount / can't boot
Public bug reported: After creating a bcache cache device with an 8k block size (see #1662407), a kernel oops happens every time device is probed. I'm not sure that there is any userspace bug present in #1662407 at all - it may just be kernel. I've attached a dmesg there, but can't actually get into the system at the moment to get apport-collect or other diagnostics. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "DSC_0900.JPG" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809748/+attachment/5224904/+files/DSC_0900.JPG -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809748 Title: 8k bcache cache NULL pointer deref on mount / can't boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1809748/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1766765] Re: xflock4 fails if light-locker installed in /usr/local/bin
** Description changed: I'm running Xubuntu 17.10. After I installed libglib2.0-dev 2.54.1-1ubuntu1, light-locker 1.7.0-2ubuntu1 stopped working correctly, because it couldn't ready its schema (/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/apps .light-locker.gschema.xml) anymore, so it couldn't get its settings from the gsettings backend, logging an error message in ~/.xsession-errors: Schema "apps.light-locker" not found. Not storing runtime settings The consequence of this was: whenever the screen was blanked, it was locked, even though I had configured on Xfce Power Manager: Security => Light Locker => Automatically lock the session: Never light-locker was always locking the session automatically because it couldn't read the settings through its gsettings backend. So, I uninstalled light-locker 1.7.0-2ubuntu1, cloned its upstream git repository: https://github.com/the-cavalry/light-locker built and installed it, under /usr/local, its default. This solved my first problem: light-locker was now able to read its configurations through gsettings, but xflock4 stopped working. Looking at this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-session/+bug/1537507 I realized that xflock4 was just a shell script, and I discovered that, right at the beginning, it sets its PATH to: PATH=/bin:/usr/bin export PATH So, as light-locker is installed as /usr/local/bin/light-locker, xflock4 obviously cannot find it through PATH. Of course, I could just install light-locker under /usr, but it's standard practice to install locally built software under /usr/local, to avoid conflicts with software installed from the distribution, which is installed under /usr. Therefore, xflock4 needs to be fixed so as to include /usr/local/bin in the PATH variable: PATH=/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin This will also affects Xubuntu 17.10 and 18.04, because xfce4-session remained at version 4.12.1-3ubuntu3. + A workaround is to copy a modified version of xflock4 to + /usr/local/bin/. + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10 Package: xfce4-session 4.12.1-3ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.13.0-39.44-generic 4.13.16 Uname: Linux 4.13.0-39-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.7-0ubuntu3.8 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Tue Apr 24 23:57:44 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-10-20 (186 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 17.10 "Artful Aardvark" - Release amd64 (20171017.1) SourcePackage: xfce4-session UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766765 Title: xflock4 fails if light-locker installed in /usr/local/bin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xfce4-session/+bug/1766765/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1203592] Re: Keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C
For years I've been using a dirty Python script that listens on DBus for keyboard backlight events and then keeps pushing the last heard value through DBus every several seconds. Works fine most of the time, but something turns off the backlight after a day or two of uptime (varies). Mere turn back on makes it work again. I can share it if anyone is interested. вт, 25 дек. 2018 г. в 14:44, o : > Got an issue tho.
