[Bug 1794033]

2019-03-15 Thread Oss-linuxpf
I saw this problem three times from yesterday.
All of them occurred during file sync over LAN with rsync.
I think this problem might be related to load by disk i/o or network i/o.
But unfortunately I have not re-compiled kernel with CONFIG_DRM_I915_DEBUG_GEM
yet.
I will try to it next week.

[Bug 1820366] Re: network install of xenial 16.04 fails with linux-generic package error

2019-03-15 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1820366/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1776563] Re: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash

2019-03-15 Thread siyia
if after bios update v1.13, you find that occasionally the touchpad or
the network doesn't play nice, add in grub parameters: "i8042.reset
i8042.nomux"

update-grub and power cycle the laptop (shutdown completely for 10s)

also if you have problems with suspend/resume reset clear and disable
secure boot for linux in bios

[Bug 1820366] [NEW] network install of xenial 16.04 fails with linux-generic package error

2019-03-15 Thread david
Public bug reported:

network installing xenial ubuntu is failing for myself and other people
(as seen on the #ubuntu irc channel).

I had this issue both with and without preseed. I am using the latest
netboot kernel and initrd files from

After having these issue with a preseed file, I started a PXE install
without any preseed ( therefore answering the standard installer
questions manually) but I still had the same error.

I was told in the #ubuntu irc channel to set :
 d-i base-installer/kernel/image string linux-image-4.4.0-142-generic
in my preseed file. This worked and the installer completed correctly without
any failures. Previously my preseed file container:
 d-i base-installer/kernel/image string linux-generic
but as I said above, even without a preseed file the error occured.

One thought - shouldn't a 4.4.0-143 netboot kernel / initrd be on
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/xenial-updates/main/installer-
amd64/current/images/netboot ? Maybe the issue would go away if those
files were available for us to place on our PXE servers.

Thanks for the tip Kai-Heng Feng. It appears this resolves the issue
thus far with the two finger click issue, but it seems not to recognize
the two finger scroll still however I think that should probably be a
different issue.

[Bug 1756700] Re: Ryzen/Raven Ridge USB ports do not work

2019-03-15 Thread Adam Gausmann
I am using a ThinkPad E585, which has a Raven Ridge APU, and the problem
still exists for me in kernel 4.20.15.

`lspci` shows that my USB controllers' device IDs are the ones in the
list of devices for which the fix is applied (15e0,15e1), but I am still
receiving the same error and no USB devices are registered when plugged
in.

[Bug 1766555] Re: openscad package missing from 18.04

2019-03-15 Thread glenstewart
I suggest to just use the AppImage provided on the scad download page.
The latest build at the moment, is
OpenSCAD-2019.01-RC3.1-x86_64.AppImage

Just chmod 755 it, and then run. Much easier than all the fuss listed
above. Runs fine for me on Ubuntu 18.04.

[Bug 1819744] Re: 19.04 Disco default wallpapers

2019-03-15 Thread TuxThePenguin
It's cool that the box is removed but a small thing I noticed is that the
greyscale version still does not quite match the patterns on the coloured
version.
In the colured version there are two diagonal lines to the top right of the
Dingo, however in the updated greyscale version there is only one.

My best guess is that the element for the second line accidentally had
it's rotation reset in the original greyscale image and was removed
entirely for the updated version?

Either way both wallpapers look awesome and I am excited to see them
being used as the default in 19.04 :)

https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-usb@vger.kernel.org/msg102138.html

I installed Ubuntu Server 18.04.2 without the PCI card without trouble

hanging at the same steps as above.

I managed to start only once time with the PCI card plugged by adding
"pci=nomsi" to the kernel command line using an Ubuntu Mate Live media

It was lucky because it never worked again.
PCI card was not working but computer started.

Here you can find included lspci -vv, lshw and full dmesg taken from
during this unique startup with the PCI Card.

I tried the same PCI Card with two computers and always had the same results.
Kernel is hanging with "xhci_hcd :0d:00.0: init :0d:00.0 fail, -19" and
nothing more.

I tried this PCI Card with a CentOS 7.3 on same computer and kernel
(3.10) is starting well and PCI card is fully working.

Many thanks for your assistance.
I apologize if it's an already reported bug.

Kind Regards

Re: [Bug 1803681] Re: osmesa doesn't suport core contexts but could

2019-03-15 Thread Greg
Fully patched 64-bit Ubuntu 18.04LTS Intel I7 AMD Radeon HD 7950
open-source drivers. Is this fixed in 18.10 or 19.04? And did you try the
test program? And looking at
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/libs/libosmesa6, I don't see the
dependency on llvm.

[Bug 1820160] Re: input/output error

2019-03-15 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report, it indeed seems an issue with the media used,
from the log
'SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt'
You should probably record a new image on another device
