[Bug 1828012] Re: New upstream microreleases 9.5.17, 10.8 and 11.3

2019-05-09 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Eoan already has
 postgresql-11 | 11.3-1 | eoan-proposed
So nothing that would hold us back anymore I guess?

[Bug 1828012] Re: New upstream microreleases 9.5.17, 10.8 and 11.3

2019-05-09 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
This got released by upstream now, so I'm marking the bug public.
I checked if our pre-generated release links work and they do, so no changelog
changes necessary.

Upstream lists two more CVEs at [1], but those are for other installers
- no need to modify our prepared packages.

We compared the released with the pre-tarballs that we tested and they
are identical [2] (thanks Andreas for checking)

Due to that I'd ask to release the builds in [3]

Assigning to Marc to consider that.

[Bug 1821652] Re: unable to change display orientation on 19.04 xubuntu daily (live - 20190325)

2019-05-09 Thread Chris Guiver
same issue today on dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e8300, 8gb, amd/ati radeon

** Description changed:

- Xubuntu 19.04 daily (20190325) x86_64
+ Xubuntu 19.04/19.10 daily (20190325) x86_64

  Checked media integrity before booting.
This machine has two displays; right screen is rotated-left so in portrait
orientation.

I went into display settings, selected 2nd display and clicked
'rotation:' drop down until it showed left and the summary-pic was what
I wanted, alas pressing APPLY button caused it to go into shadow and no
  change occurred.

Exiting from the 'display settings' dialog (using close button) and re-
entering and the displays are as they were before change (or when first
booted). I've tried many times, no result, always the 'apply' button
remains grey/in-shadow and no other effect.

No crash reports are visible in /var/crash/

Both these machines use the same displays, one using DVI connections, the
other uses VGA

** Summary changed:

[Bug 1748956] Re: replace uses of net-tools with iproute2

2019-05-09 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
TBH that is just showing that [1], fell through the cracks :-/

We are early in Eoan - lets do this now - worst case slightly break it and
resolve details afterwards.
I made it part of another seed/meta change Eoan to do both in one [2].
Further I have added a release-note task to mention it in Eoan.

[Bug 1749774] Re: include fwupd packages in Server Seed

2019-05-09 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Thanks Steve for the ping for awareness!

It still all is in main, and I checked the old MIR bug 1536871 for any
extra context that might have been mentioned there.

It already is in desktop-common (and due to that in all desktop tasks).
It is there as recommends which I appreciate for the rare case that someone
really runs into issues due to the package.

It also is in system-image for ubuntu core.

And finally it also is in d-i-requirements for being on the disk image
if needed by d-i.

---

I checked in a XLD container and a cloud image with only main enabled that we
can install it and how much "extra" that would be on small server instances.

It is 13.9 MB extracted and 3742 kB of archives which seems ok space-
wise.

The content will be:
- a bunch of libs (ok)
- a bunch of glib-* packages (still sort of ok)
- dconf-service and some related dbus things (dbus runs anyway, just one more
endpoint)
- bolt (system daemon to manage thunderbolt 3 devices)
That service seems well isolated and only runs if thunderbolt are found (udev)

---

Overall I agree that it makes sense to add this to the server meta task
as well, but also as recommends for some flexibility where needed.

Since version 1.1.0 the requested fwupdate no more is important, but
fwupd+fwupd-signed are.
So we use those as recommends.

I prepared a seed change and will propose it for a second Team pair of
eyes to commit

I am also facing the same issue.

The wifi works perfectly until Bluetooth speaker works perfectly.

As soon as Bluetooth speaker connects the wifi activity keeps skipping.

Kindly let me know how to solve this.

Description of problem:

Mailman 3 is really a suite of 5 tools:

 * The core, which provides the mail delivery engine, the unified user
model, moderation and modification of email messages, and interfaces to
external archivers;

 * Postorius, our new Django-based web user interface for users and list
   administrators;

 * HyperKitty, our new Django-based web archiver, providing rich access
to the historical record of mailing list traffic;

 * mailman.client, the official Python bindings to the core's REST API;

 * mailman-bundler, a set of scripts to make it easy to deploy the full
   suite inside Python virtual environments.

What's new about Mailman 3? Well, lots! Some highlights include:

 * Backed by a relational database;

 * True support for multiple domains, with no cross-domain mailing list
naming restrictions;

 * One user account to manage all your subscriptions on a site;

 * The core's functionality exposed through an administrative REST+JSON
API;

 * All passwords hashed by default, and no monthly password reminders!

 * Users can post to lists via the web interface;

 * Built-in archive searching!

and more. Tons more.

I've been working on Mailman3 for a while now, and I have packaged it
(and all its dependencies), and I intend on getting it into Fedora. The
thing is, there's a lt of new dependencies that need to be in there
too. I haven't tried to push them at the moment because the dependencies
have been changing a lot until recently (they still are a bit, but it's
low enough now).

I intend to work with Jan on that (we haven't talked about this in a
while ;-) )

FYI I have a Mailman3 / Postorius / HyperKitty repo here:
https://repos.fedorapeople.org/abompard/hyperkitty/
It's for EPEL7, but it should rebuild properly on Fedora (it's even easier
because more deps are included).

I've started checking which deps are into Fedora and on which version,
so I can request reviews or updates on them. That's where I am today.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

[Bug 1828136] Re: [Intel DH67CL, Realtek ALC892, Grey SPDIF Out, Rear] No sound at all

2019-05-09 Thread Hui Wang
I guess you alsa driver works after booing up, but the pulseaudio fails
to get your built in sound card via alsa-lib.

To check it, after booing up, run pactl list cards, I guess you could
only see one dummy card and one nvidia hdmi audio card; after sudo alsa
force-reload and run pactl list cards, you will see one built in audio
card and one nvidia hdmi audio card.

If it does, we need to debug pulseaduio to check why it fails to detect
built-in card after booing up.

[Bug 1828293] Re: [Queens -> Rocky Upgrade] python3-neutron-fwaas-dashboard installation: trying to overwrite '/etc/openstack-dashboard/neutron-fwaas-policy.json', which is also in package python-neut

2019-05-09 Thread Corey Bryant
** Description changed:

  [Impact]
The upgrade process from Queens to Rocky fails due to a failure to override a
policy file:
  https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/tH4qrvP7mS/

The issue causes an upgrade action to exit prematurely which leaves the
dashboard in a broken state as the keystone v3 policy json file is not
  rendered.

  KEYSTONEV3_POLICY =
('/usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/conf/'
   'keystonev3_policy.json')

This is reproducible without charms by simply doing the following:

  lxc launch ubuntu:bionic neutrontest
  Creating neutrontest
  Starting neutrontest

  lxc exec neutrontest bash
  root@neutrontest:~# apt update

  root@neutrontest:~# add-apt-repository cloud-archive:rocky
  root@neutrontest:~# python3-neutron-fwaas-dashboard

[Bug 1828496] [NEW] service haproxy reload sometimes fails to pick up new TLS certificates

2019-05-09 Thread Barry Price
Public bug reported:

I suspect this is the same thing reported on StackOverflow:

"I had this same issue where even after reloading the config, haproxy
would randomly serve old certs. After looking around for many days the
issue was that "reload" operation created a new process without killing
the old one. Confirm this by "ps aux | grep haproxy"."

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46040504/haproxy-wont-recognize-new-
certificate

In our setup, we automate Let's Encrypt certificate renewals, and a
fresh certificate will trigger a reload of the service. But occasionally
this reload doesn't seem to do anything.

Will update with details next time it happens, and hopefully confirm the
multiple process theory.

[Bug 1828134] Re: Wifi not working after suspend/resume cycle

2019-05-09 Thread David Britton
Hi Andrea --

1) No D state processes
2) interestingly, `iwlist wlp4s0 scan` shows data like usual
3) rfkill shows everything off

I'm going to read up on how to connect to networks from iwconfig and see
if that helps me at all. I'm attaching a debug.txt file with a bunch of
the output you asked for.

I really hope you are right there, but I don't know enough about the

Regardless, I have reopened bug 508522 covering this issue.

[Bug 1828293] Re: [Queens -> Rocky Upgrade] python3-neutron-fwaas-dashboard installation: trying to overwrite '/etc/openstack-dashboard/neutron-fwaas-policy.json', which is also in package python-neut

2019-05-09 Thread Corey Bryant
That last step should've been:

# apt install python3-neutron-fwaas-dashboard

** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
The upgrade process from Queens to Rocky fails due to a failure to override a
policy file:
  https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/tH4qrvP7mS/

The issue causes an upgrade action to exit prematurely which leaves the
dashboard in a broken state as the keystone v3 policy json file is not
  rendered.

  KEYSTONEV3_POLICY =
('/usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/conf/'
- 'keystonev3_policy.json')
-

This is reproducible without charms by simply doing the following:

  lxc launch ubuntu:bionic neutrontest
  Creating neutrontest
  Starting neutrontest

  lxc exec neutrontest bash
  root@neutrontest:~# apt update

2019-05-09 Thread Julien Olivier
I have gnome-calendar installed on Ubuntu 19.04, and gedit is still
displayed as the only available choice in the default app settings. The
workaround was to run the following: gio mime text/calendar
org.gnome.Calendar.desktop

Now gnome-calendar appears as the default (and only) calendar app...

[Bug 1828489] [NEW] icedtea-netx: Dependencies "not installable"

2019-05-09 Thread TJ
Public bug reported:

On 18.04, amd64:

$ sudo apt install libtagsoup-java librhino-java icedtea-netx:i386

Reading package lists... Done

Building dependency tree

Reading state information... Done

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have

requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable

distribution that some required packages have not yet been created

or been moved out of Incoming.

The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.

icedtea-netx:i386 : Depends: default-jre:i386 but it is not going to be
installed
Depends: libtagsoup-java:i386 but it is not installable
Depends: librhino-java:i386 but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

libtagsoup-java and librhino-java are architecture "all" and should be
installable.

Manually installing them first is fine:

$ sudo apt install libtagsoup-java librhino-java
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Suggested packages:
  rhino libtagsoup-java-doc
The following NEW packages will be installed
  librhino-java libtagsoup-java
0 to upgrade, 2 to newly install, 0 to remove and 87 not to upgrade.
Need to get 1,245 kB of archives.
After this operation, 1,435 kB of additional disk space will be used.
...

But after this the install of icedtea-netx:i386 still fails.

[Bug 1828491] [NEW] gnome-calendar not listed as a calendar app in default app settings

2019-05-09 Thread Julien Olivier
Public bug reported:

Gnome-Calendar doesn't appear in the list of default apps for calendar
in gnome settings. This is probably due to the fact that, in the
.desktop file, the "text/calendar" mime type is not registered?

Anyway, a workaround exists: just type "gio mime text/calendar
org.gnome.Calendar.desktop".

[Bug 1828136] Re: [Intel DH67CL, Realtek ALC892, Grey SPDIF Out, Rear] No sound at all

2019-05-09 Thread Adrian Mariano
I rebooted and went into the "Ubuntu" desktop and looked at the sound
settings. It shows an output tab and said "dummy". I clicked and was
able to switch it to the nvidia card. I think maybe the nvidia card was
off, which it should be since there's no output device connected.

I went back into my regular environment and observed that the nvidia
output was available but not the built-in sound. I ran aplay test.wav
and could see in pavucontrol that sound output was going to the nvidia
output. (It shows a real-time output level bar.)

I ran alsa force-reload. When I do this the message "Terminating
processes: " appears and instantly at that point, the built in
sound appears in pavucontrol on the configuration tab. For some reason
though, in this case, even after I selected it, I still got no sound. I
rebooted again, went straight into my normal environment, confirmed that
only the nvidia card was available, ran 'alsa force-reload', the built-
in sound appears instantly as described above, then there is a many
second delay while alsa loads and messages about loading of sound driver
modules appears. And then I can play sound, e.g. with aplay.

[Bug 1828136] Re: [Intel DH67CL, Realtek ALC892, Grey SPDIF Out, Rear] No sound at all

2019-05-09 Thread Adrian Mariano
If I look at the sound settings using pavucontrol (I don't normally use
gnome and don't seem to have a program called gnome-sound-setting
installed) then under the configuration tab I see the nvidia hardware
but not the built in audio. (The nvidia card has only HDMI and my
speakers don't have that input, so I can't try using that. I don't have
any devices with HDMI input.)

After running 'alsa force-reload' the built-in audio appears as a
configuration option.

to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.

what you did to make that "Install Language" show up.

[Bug 1828136] Re: [Intel DH67CL, Realtek ALC892, Grey SPDIF Out, Rear] No sound at all

2019-05-09 Thread Hui Wang
According to the log of ls and aply -l, your audio hardware is
recognized by the driver after booting up.

And alsa is ready to work, I can't find any problem here. I guess you
could run 'aplay test.wav' to play sound after booting up without "sudo
alsa force-reload"

you wrote "After rebooting I have no sound. My sound device doesn't show
up at all in the mixer.", does it mean there is only a dummy output in
the gnome-sound-setting?

[Bug 1825733] Re: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core shows upgrading from 18.10 to 18.10

2019-05-09 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
After the fix of window_main.ui in eoan I installed Kubuntu 19.04,
started an upgrade using the command:

kubuntu-devel-release-upgrade

and got the expected string "Upgrading Ubuntu 19.04 to version 19.10".
(Apparently a string substitution takes place to insert the "19.04"
part.)

There are also translation aspects to this string which deserve
attention, but that will be tracked in bug #1727472. We can consider it
confirmed that simply editing window_main.ui fixes this bug.

Brian let me know that disco will be uploaded only when a pending disco
SRU has been completed, so it will take a while.

[Bug 1827357] Re: SRU subiquity specific changes from master to bionic

2019-05-09 Thread Dimitri John Ledkov
Above two things are tested with:
Ubuntu-Server 18.04.2 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Beta amd64 (20190509)

which is built with livecd-rootfs 2.525.23

The serial console stuff, needs to be tested on some other arch, as I'm
failing to create serial only amd64 VM =)

This bug has been assigned to Lars Karlitski. I don't know him, but he
seems to last have been active here back in 2016. Could that possibly be
blocking the progress in this issue?

booting with a black screen with the first line of text that appears is
the getty tty1 message.

Which is great, meaning that subiquity_config.mount has not failed, and
didn't cause the boot to be "degraded"
