[Bug 1791405]

2019-05-28 Thread bcotton
Fedora 28 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2019-05-28. Fedora 28 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

[Bug 1772913]

2019-05-28 Thread bcotton
This message is a reminder that Fedora 28 is nearing its end of life.
On 2019-May-28 Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for
Fedora 28. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases
that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as
EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '28'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 28 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

[Bug 1785912]

2019-05-28 Thread yugge
Created attachment 144358
dmesg from 5.1.4-arch1-1-ARCH with drm.debug=14

Adding a dmesg of my current kernel with fastboot enabled, 0-70s is the
correct behaviour, after that its me closing the lid, waiting a bit and
then opening it to a flickery display. Seems like the later part gets a
lot of hotplug events etc, maybe a hint?

[Bug 1819207] Re: [FFe] Add Modaliases to open-vm-tools-desktop to allow automatic installation by ubuntu-drivers

2019-05-28 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
The open-vm-tools portion of this overall change will be part of the regular
backports for the package. But afaik, the other two will not be updated e.g.
not in 18.04.x installer.
Marking tasks accordingly to reflect what the SRU team expects.

I backported an i915 patch for glk machines, please remove the
workaround of "probe_mask=1" (#4) and test this kernel:

sudo dpkg -i linux-imgae-unsigned-xxx.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-modules-xxx.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-modules-extra-xxx.deb

reboot and choose the new installed kernel to boot, then redo the test.

[Bug 1763892] Re: 144Hz/120Hz monitor but mutter seems to cap rendering at 60FPS

2019-05-28 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The test case passes, and gnome-shell reaches 120Hz for me. But it's not
as smooth and reliable as I would like in Xorg sessions. I think
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/merge_requests/520 will fix that
in the coming months.

But don't be confused, this bug is now definitely fixed in bionic
proposed.

2019-05-28 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Public bug reported:

This is rather annoying; Evolution (or possibly evolution-data-server)
knows about my meetings, and will consistently pop up a notification
saying something like “SRU Team meeting (7 hours ago)”. Which is not
*particularly* helpful, given that it didn't pop up a notification
*before* the meeting.

Evolution should ideally pop up notifications *before* a meeting is
scheduled. Failing that, it should not pop up notifications for meetings
hours in the past.

[Bug 1830823] [NEW] livecd-rootfs xenial powerpc arch builds broken

[Bug 1063298]

2019-05-28 Thread Petersampsonaudacity
I downloaded the ogg test file from the link provided in Benjamin's
comment #0

Testing on W10 with
audacity-2.3.3-alpha-252-88dc11f525215cea57f7a89b0038fc7d40a50149

This formerly problematic ogg file I can now import properly into
Audacity with drag and File>Import. I can also File>Open the test
ogg file.

So there no longer appears to be a problem on Windows with is particular
ogg file.

This should also be tested on Linux before closing this old bug

Hi, have you been able to do more testing? Does it still not freeze
anymore for you with v.5.50? You're the second person I find saying that
v5.50 removes the freezes with the default settings. I also use the
ASRock X370 Taichi and the "Power Supply Idle Control" option, but I'm
still on v4.70. However, since my computer also freezes on Windows when
idle without changing that option, I now think that this is probably a
different problem than the bug in this discussion. I actually found
other people on forums who also have experienced those freezes on
Windows, so I’m not an isolated case. They don’t all have ASRock boards,
but there might also be something specific to ASRock. I have not really
tested this yet, but sometime ago, I was told that at least on the
ASRock boards, the default SOC voltage of 0.9 V is too low, and that
raising it to at least 1.0 V would prevent the freezes (but don't go
higher than 1.1 V). I'm probably going to raise that voltage anyway
because I would like to increase the frequency of my RAM and lower the
timings, if the BIOS would let me do so properly and keep the settings…
The v4.x BIOSes for this board are known to have serious bugs in this
respect
[http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=9371=ram+worse
=psa-stay-away-from-480-bios-x370-taichi], so I will probably take the
risk to upgrade to v5.50 soon, too.

Meanwhile, AMD replaced my faulty 1700X CPU, and the replacement I
received (same CPU model, but produced much later) seems not to have the
segfault bug, although I should test it more in order to be completely
sure. I must say that AMD was very nice in the RMA process, I really
recommend doing the RMA directly with them if you have the segfault bug.

Also, the attached UdevDb.txt shows i2c bus support on DisplayPort (and

If possible, please connect the monitor via DisplayPort or HDMI.

[Bug 1830744] Re: Stuck in 1024x768 resolution. Modeset can't detect VGA EDID on Ivybridge.

2019-05-28 Thread Daniel van Vugt
This might be a driver bug or it might be a hardware problem.

In case it is a driver bug then I have assigned it to both the 'modeset'
Xorg driver and the kernel 'i915' driver. Can you please boot a newer
version of Ubuntu from USB and tell us if it has the same problem?

  19.10: http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/
  19.04: http://releases.ubuntu.com/19.04/

If this is a hardware problem then there are two possible causes I can
think of:

* Poor VGA connection or cable. Can you try a different cable?

* Maybe the monitor does not support EDIDs, but unlikely.

** Summary changed:

- Not able to get updated version of Driver
+ Stuck in 1024x768 resolution. Modeset can't detect VGA EDID on Ivybridge.

** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1830673] Re: [nvidia] startup bug

2019-05-28 Thread Daniel van Vugt
OK. Please:

1. Reproduce the problem again (the new black screen problem).

2. Reboot and as soon as the purple screen appears, tap Escape. Look
through the menus and find recovery mode. Select it and boot recovery
mode.

3. In a terminal or VT (Ctrl+Alt+F4), run:

   journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and send us the file 'prevboot.txt'.

Please also subscribe to bug 1822026, which is tracking other issues

[Bug 1807439] Re: openvpn crashes when run with fips openssl

2019-05-28 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Hello there!

This bug looks like a really well-done SRU bug - a nice clear test case
and justification.

The only thing it's missing now is actually testing the upload! :)

There's another openvpn SRU waiting in the queue now; could someone
please do the testing for this so that we can release it into -updates
and get the next openvpn into the testing queue.

Thanks!
