Whenever the "bluetooth settings" screen is opened, an assertion failure
is logged from gnome-shell, followed by many video-related lines from
gdm-x-session (syslog extract attached). The first part looks like this:

On which version of Ubuntu did you experience this? Whilst the latest
LTS (18.04) and non-LTS (19.04) versions have moved the ntp package to

I still hit this issue a few times per week, usually after resuming from
suspend.
I've attached the dmesg output from the most recent one (today). In this
instance, although the Wi-Fi was not working, I was still able to
interact with the system and shut it down cleanly. That's not always the

Humm, actually this happens only when using byobu and the terminal is started
through it's icon, if I start the terminal directly it works ok. So this may be
related to byobu and not the terminal itsef. Sorry for the noise.

intel_pstate not working. CPU frequency fix
Public bug reported:
intel_pstate not working. CPU frequency fixed at 800MHz.
I've tried to modify frequency using "cpufreq-set" and also by directly
writing to files in "/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/*" to no
success.
I tried different versions of kernel, it started working on 4.17.0 but
"Linux versions 5.1 and 5.2 would also not work with this parameter
set."
well i have been running 5.1.10 successfully Now in windows, and
next time i boot into Linux i will be using 5.1.20... Let´s see what
happens then...

Looks like this is a kernel modeset bug, booting with i915.modeset=0

and is a duplicate of bug #1733167, so is being marked as such.
I'm also affected by this bug in Ubuntu 18.04. I'm using Diodon the
clipboard manager. Its appindicator menu does not scroll down when the
clipboard entries exceed the height of the screen.
