which was then provided by the kernel packages. That seems like a way to
solve this. Given that dkms is for dynamic kernel modules, it was always

I think commen #6 is correct: it looks the 2018 patch introduced the
issue for us, but the patch is originally for "initrd-less boot
capabilities." and here we do need the initramfs file.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off so rude. Anyway, I looked into things
and it's not fixable because `apport-bug -w` actually uses xprops which
will return on any mouse press.

When the stutter is happening can you please check:
* Is any process now using very high CPU? (run 'top' in a Terminal)
* Does running 'dmesg -w' in a Terminal show any new errors?
* Does running 'journalctl -f' in a Terminal show any new errors?
* That you don't have any extensions install
