[Bug 1880495] Re: Upgrade from 1.95 to 2.35 failure because column maasserver_domain.ttl does not exist

2020-05-25 Thread Felipe Reyes
I could reproduce this issue locally, and this is what I believe is
happening with this environment (and not for other upgrades) is that the
database has no domains defined for the interfaces related, so this
piece of code [0] is falling into the "else" section which calls
get_default_domain() method and internally ends up query the 'ttl'
column. So the migration step 0011 is relying on it and expecting that
it was created in step 0010 and it wasn't, it was added way later in
migration step 0023.

Cherry-pick patches in #21 and solve build issue as suggestion in #22.
The test kernel can boot without error in dmesg.

But bug 1867900 still exist with the test kernel.

I will provide kernel debs and git branch later.

[Bug 1879276] Re: Esata port is dead after boot, impossible to hotplug external drive

2020-05-25 Thread Kai-Heng Feng
Would it be possible for you to do a kernel bisection?

First, find the last -rc kernel works and the first -rc kernel doesn’t
work from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/

Then,
$ sudo apt build-dep linux
$ git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git
$ cd linux
$ git bisect start
$ git bisect good $(the working version you found)
$ git bisect bad $(the non-working version found)
$ make localmodconfig
$ make -j`nproc` deb-pkg
Install the newly built kernel, then reboot with it.
If it still have the same issue,
$ git bisect bad
Otherwise,
$ git bisect good
Repeat to "make -j`nproc` deb-pkg" until you find the offending commit.

FYI - Still waiting on Debian to find the time on the MPs.

It would be nice to get this done until ~mid June to then do the LTS
backports for 20.04 before 20.04.1 will be released ~mid July. This is
still fine atm and the timing should be ok, no need to rush anyone.

[Bug 1872268] Re: Gnome Shell completely freezes in Ubuntu 20.04 when clicking outside of app icon folders (when ubuntu-dock is loaded)

2020-05-25 Thread Rson
Daniel van Vugt, both bugs ("extra page dots in App grid" and "clicking
outside of app icon folders freezes Gnome shell") are caused by setting
extend-height to True (default value) in the Ubuntu Dock extension. If I
set this value to False, these problems are resolved. As I showed in the
comment above (25).

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-
dock/+bug/1872268/comments/25

In the link indicated by you, he (Brian Murray) says to uninstall Ubuntu
dock 67 and install version 68 manually. Someday version 68 will be
available by default.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-
dock/+bug/1870847/comments/16

I did everything following these steps:

1 - I uninstalled version 67 of the Ubuntu Dock

sudo apt remove gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock

2 - I downloaded the indicated Ubuntu Dock 68 .deb file and installed it

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/479451292/gnome-shell-extension-
ubuntu-dock_68ubuntu1~20.04.1_all.deb

3 - I restarted the operating system to make sure all changes were made

Even using version 68 I still have the problem with the extra dots. And
the interface continues to freeze, but only when I click multiple times
outside the app icon folders.

I made a video shown the two problems of Ubuntu Dock 68. Note that at
00:20 the App grid has extra dots. And at 01:05 the interface freezes,
and I can only move the mouse.

[Bug 1880629] Re: Ubuntu 20.04: Titlebar buttons on the Left not working properly; titlebar disappears in Tweaks app

2020-05-25 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1880629/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1877617] Re: Automatic scans cause instability for cloud use cases

2020-05-25 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
Just tested SRU and it works fine. By setting:

# To prevent doing automatic scans that would add unwanted luns to the system
# we can disable them and have sessions only do manually requested scans.
# Automatic scans are performed on startup, on login, and on AEN/AER reception
# on devices supporting it. For HW drivers all sessions will use the value
# defined in the configuration file. This configuration option is independent
# of scsi_mod scan parameter. (The default behavior is auto):
node.session.scan = manual

to /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf files BEFORE the discovery happens

OR by making sure to have:

(k)rafaeldtinoco@clusterg02:~/scripts$ sudo iscsiadm -m session -o show
tcp: [1] 10.250.94.10:3260,1
iqn.2003-01.org.linux-iscsi.storage.x8664:sn.0f3632993d26 (non-flash)

(k)rafaeldtinoco@clusterg02:~/scripts$ sudo iscsiadm -m node -o show | grep scan
node.session.scan = manual
node.session.scan = manual
node.session.scan = manual
node.session.scan = manual

node.session.scan set to manual in all configured sessions...

Scan won't happen automatically.. but if you change it to "auto", then:

(k)rafaeldtinoco@clusterg01:~$ ls -1 /dev/sd*

all luns are scanned by default.

[Bug 1880609] Re: Evolution crashes when changing date in calendar

2020-05-25 Thread Taylor Raack
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1740681 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740681

The Apport retracing service claims that this is a duplicate of a bug
different bug, but the claimed duplicate bug is private and so I can't
see what that one is all about.

Is there a way that I can see contents of the private bug so I know if
this is indeed a duplicate, and if so, if the duplicate is being looked
at / confirmed / addressed?

[Bug 1875475] Re: Unison from Ubuntu 20.04 is incompatible with Unison from Ubuntu 18.04, Windows or Mac OS X

2020-05-25 Thread mine260309
> Unison failed: Uncaught exception Failure("input_value: ill-formed
message")

I met exactly the same issue after "downgrading" the unison to
unison_2.48.4-1+b1_amd64.deb on Ubuntu 20.04

And the workaround is indicated by @velmont, that to delete the files in
~/.unison
But I got an extra issue after deleting the files:

Fatal error: Warning: inconsistent state.
The archive file is missing on some hosts.
...
Please delete archive files as appropriate and try again
or invoke Unison with -ignorearchives flag.

So I need to run unison with `-ignorearchives` flag once to recreate the
states, then the whole issue is fixed.

[Bug 1880629] [NEW] Ubuntu 20.04: Titlebar buttons on the Left not working properly; titlebar disappears in Tweaks app

2020-05-25 Thread DaniHaze
Public bug reported:

As I posted here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1243463/ubuntu-20-04
-titlebar-buttons-on-the-left-not-working-properly-titlebar-disapp

In Ubuntu 20.04, when I use the Tweaks app to change the titlebar
buttons to the left (instead of the default right), the titlebar becomes
greyed out (or rather black).

It seems that placing the buttons on the left does not leave enough
space for the side navigation block with the default window size for
Tweaks.

Sometimes, when I open Tweaks and I see the titlebar has been greyed
out, I change the window size and the titlebar appears again, but this
does not always happen.

The moment I change the buttons to the left, the title bar becomes black
and the side navigation block disappears. If I resize the window (so the
navigation block can be seen again), the titlebar returns, but this not
always happens.

Even when the titlebar returns by readjusting the window size, I feel
like the buttons position is not completely correct. They are not placed
in the same fashion as in the Settings app for example.

[Bug 1880570] Re: Dock - running applications are not/delayed updated

2020-05-25 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Please try:

  gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock show-mounts
false

and log out and in again. If that doesn't fix it then next please wait
for the problem to happen again and run:

  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

Please also ensure you do not have any non-Ubuntu extensions loaded. If
so then please unload those.

[Bug 1842532] Re: Touchpad stops working after resuming from s2idle

2020-05-25 Thread You-Sheng Yang
@CaCO3, like your id but it should be CaCO2 instead.

So the proposed patch was obsoleted because the i2c-hid maintainers
prefer to turn off i2c runtime suspend instead, and therefore this
should not be reproduced any more. This has been verified on Ubuntu OEM
projects, and should have been resolved along with the internal counter
part.

Should you have still issue around this, please run `apport-bug` after
reproduced that issue in a clean reboot to file a separate bug. Usually
I'll be notified with that new bug, but you can also subscribe me and
let's find out what can we do next.

[Bug 1842532] Re: Touchpad stops working after resuming from s2idle

The two commits were backported to generic kernel 5.0.0-38.41, on which
oem-osp1-5.0.0-1032 is based, is sufficient for fixing this on s2idle
configuration:

  1. [HID: i2c-hid: Remove runtime power
management](https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=67b18dfb8cfc6d6c2f45ba8c546088f5c14f5bd5)
  2. [HID: i2c-hid: Send power-on command after

Nothing else to do, marking INVALID.

[Bug 1606012] Re: [0ac8:c002] Z-Star Camera VGP-VCC1 (Vaio VGN-FE21H)

2020-05-25 Thread ttbek
Some parameters around the bug may have changed, but the main issue is
the same, same webcam, same garbled green output with some strips of
correct video, e.g. the very top. I actually do have a /dev/video0
though. Initially I just get a black screen as output that seems non-
functional (e.g. cheese fails to get a black screen photo, but I manage
to get the green if I preload compat and cheese will take captures of
the garbled output:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so cheese

I am attaching a screenshot. The green can vary quite a bit, sometimes
more pink, etc... Not entirely random, but clearly garbled.

This is now in 18.04 with the Mate desktop environment.

[Bug 1880626] [NEW] Xubuntu minimal screen lock hangs

2020-05-25 Thread Cefn
Public bug reported:

I have an installation of xubuntu from the Mini.iso with xubuntu-minimal
and just a handful of other mainstream packages - google-chrome,
chromium, gvfs and supporting drivers.

The system is functional and responsive and shows no major issues after
boot.

However, after some time idle, the screen lock engages and never
returns. The fan blows hot suggesting something consuming 100% CPU. It
takes a long time for the password box to appear. When it finally
appears and accepts a password it seems to never resume a login session
(waited 5 or 10 minutes). During this whole process CTRL+ALT+F1 is
ignored so I cannot investigate from a TTY.

[Bug 1880621] [NEW] Using %e or %k in custom date format result in Thunar displaying current time in place of file modified time

2020-05-25 Thread halogen2
Public bug reported:

Xubuntu 20.04 live CD

Steps to reproduce:

1) Edit > Preferences > Date > Format, pick the "-mm-dd hh:mm:ss"
option from the drop-down

2) Right-click any file (e.g. /usr/lib/chroot-setup.sh) > Properties.
Note the modified and accessed times. Close the Properties dialog.

3) Back to Edit > Preferences, pick Custom date format. Set to:

%e %b %Y, %k:%M:%S

4) right-click the same file again > Properties

Expected results:

Same dates/times should be displayed at (2) and (4), just in different
format.

Actual results:

At (4), the current date/time is displayed for Modified and Accessed.

Using stat in Terminal shows the times displayed with the preset option
are the correct ones.

If I A) replace %e with %d, AND B) replace %k with %H, so the custom
format becomes:

%d %b %Y, %H:%M:%S

Thunar does show correct dates/times with that custom format. Replacing
only %e (keeping %k) results in Thunar showing correct date with
completely wrong time.

[Bug 1880620] [NEW] Fcitx input stalls GUI

2020-05-25 Thread Karl Kastner
Public bug reported:

Select Fcitx as input method, log out, log in again. The GUI (gnome)
becomes extremely sluggish, and does not react to keyboard input any
more after a couple of seconds. CTRL-Alt-Backspace luckily works. After
several attempts I managed to change the input method back to Ibus
before the GUI hangs. If I remember correctly, then the same problem
occurred on a previous release of Ubuntu as well.

[Bug 1768844] Re: Numlock key turns on constantly, must push twice to turn off

2020-05-25 Thread Sean Davis
We included numlockx because this is normally a desired feature for
desktop usage. Unfortunately these sorts of settings are not well
handled in X11, and there's not a consistent way to turn the behavior on
or off. If the automatic numlock setting is bothering you, you can
uninstall the numlockx package on your system.

Meanwhile, we should document this so users can more easily find the
solution in the future. Adding xubuntu-docs as affected.

[Bug 1880608] [NEW] Settings window not working Ubuntu 20.04

2020-05-25 Thread Arvydas Stanys
Public bug reported:

Hi, after installation of Ubuntu 20.04 I cant open Settings. It does not
work nor from Applications list (icon) as well from favourites bar or
top right corner menu. When I try to pen it, Activities list shows that
Settings are open (also icon get red dot), but window is not on the

[Bug 1842532] Re: Touchpad stops working after resuming from s2idle

2020-05-25 Thread CaCO3
I seem to have the same bug, how ever on a Synaptics TM2668-002 (ThinkPad
T440s).
Is there any progress on this bug? I experience this issue since several months
(Kubuntu 19.04 and now still on 20.04).

My workaround is to run a `sudo modprobe -r psmouse; sudo modprobe
psmouse`
