Also:

 * when the freeze occurs, can you still move the mouse pointer?

 * if you select 'Ubuntu on Wayland' from the login screen, does that
avoid the bug?

2020-06-09 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report.

Please run this command now:

  gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.shell > settings.txt

Please also run this command AFTER the next freeze and reboot:

  journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

And attach the resulting text files here.

# on the current focal version this fails to resolve correctly and returns

[Bug 1882518] Re: ubuntu_kvm_smoke_test failed with "qemu-img: Unable to initialize gcrypt" on B-ibm-gt

2020-06-09 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Hello,
"That setup uses a custom gcrypt for HW acceleration use" <- can you tell me
how to know if this setup is using a custom gcrypt for HW acceleration? Or
because of the kernel?

A quick check of the test history for this ibm-gt kernel:
4.15.0-1053.59 - this test was not tested
4.15.0-1054.60 - this test was not tested
4.15.0-1055.61 - this test was not tested
4.15.0-1058.64 - failed with this issue as well

[Bug 1881549] Re: BCM43602 [14e4:43ba] Subsystem [1028:0020]: Upgraded to 20.04 and wifi broke

2020-06-09 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
The attachment "wpa_2.9-1ubuntu8.debdiff" seems to be a debdiff. The
ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they
can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. If the attachment isn't a
patch, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the
"patch" tag, and if you are member of the ~ubuntu-sponsors, unsubscribe
the team.

[Bug 1882607] Re: One of the updates in the last week broke super key on external usb keyboard

2020-06-09 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks. I notice buried in that output you said:

> For the below I used 14. Hitting the super
> key on either side produced no results. Other keys did.
> I tried 12 and 15 as well with the same result (no response)

So that means this is either a hardware or a kernel problem.

[Bug 1853369] Re: [19.10] Boot hangs at "loading initial ramdisk"

2020-06-09 Thread Daniel Tan
Did any of you tried to reinstall Ubuntu after this happened?

I started having this issue today after upgraded to 5.4.0-37-generic. I
then fallback to 5.4.0-33-generic (which works previously) and it no
longer boot without a power supply.

5.4.0-31-generic is the one that works for me now.

[Bug 1876055] Re: SRU: Backport 2.4.3-1ubuntu3 from groovy to focal/eoan/bionic/xenial for newer syscalls for core20 base and test suite robustness

2020-06-09 Thread Jamie Strandboge
FYI, I copied xenial-focal from the security-proposed ppa to -proposed.
Borrowing from the ubuntu-sru team's SRU verification text:

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-
needed- to verification-done-. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed-. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.
