[Bug 1871721] Re: Second Monitor on HDMI blank screen with Nvidia & Ubuntu 20.04? (ASUS Laptop)
Ok... Problem is solved by ... puling out POWER from monitor! It is weird but for some reason when i unplugged monitor from power and pulled it again it start showing my screen. It is weird but to be honest I've tried so many things before and nothing helped... I've changed drivers few times... so many restarts... I've even changed hdmi cabel. I assume that monitor is OK because it showed grub/spash screen and when I tried run older linux kernel it showd text on second screen. Not sure what went wrong... maybe something with strength of hdmi signal? Screen still turns black every few minutes for ~second but at least it works. [Bug 1851062] Re: Qemu using CPU even when the VM is paused
That is great data to have @Kevin, thank you. There is no problem at all that you've done that with some slightly other versions. The loop around KVM_IRQ_LINE_STATUS really seems interesting and certainly will help to identify things. In fact with that I already found: - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1638289 - https://www.spinics.net/lists/kvm/msg157148.html All of them unfortunately ended with assumptions on windows programming bad timers and that being just a consequence of it. I still can't repdroduce this on my side to take a look myself, but seeing that the upstream experts have already looked at it and didn't have more ideas indicates it will be a complex case for them anyway. The bug is against Fedora and not upstream-kvm/qemu, mostly the same people but that is why it was closed EOL. It seems to me we need the main developers back on it to really get a grip on it. - maybe you want to re-kindle this by replying to the old mail thready like "this stil is an issue" or open an upstream bug. But OTOH that might just be an interaction between windows expecting to run on real HW and pausing a VM. https://www.spinics.net/lists/kvm/msg157371.html summarizes that nicely. So I'm unsure how much more will happen bringing it up again. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #1638289 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1638289 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851062 Title: Qemu using CPU even when the VM is paused To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1851062/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1885010] Re: NULL deference in nfs4_get_valid_delegation
Hi Elvis, Guilherme Guilherme, I went and had a look at what was built into 5.4.0-39-generic, and the commit "nfs: fix NULL deference in nfs4_get_valid_delegation" wasn't there. >From what I can see looking at the git tree located at: https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kernel/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/focal/?h=master-next The commit is there: https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kernel/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/focal/commit/?h=master-next&id=4cb9edb12735c41f48dff1741bf17e99384f55e3 But it is currently untagged, on master-next. From the changelog of 5.4.0-40-generic, we can see it is listed there: https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kernel/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/focal/commit/?h=master-next&id=96bef2d870f538dd0849a0f8d7e343a01ce6bbf0 So I am expecting the fix to land in 5.4.0-40-generic which should be tagged shortly, and likely built and pushed to -proposed early next week as a part of the next SRU cycle. Elvis, this is why 5.4.0-39-generic is still broken, since the fix will likely arrive in 5.4.0-40-generic. If you like, we can make you a test kernel with the fix so you can double check the patch really fixes your problems. It seems 5.4.0-39-generic is in -updates now, but it is untagged. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1882462] Re: Displays wake up pre-maturely (likely driven by notification)
Another idea: You seem to be using the default Xorg session so that increases the possible set of components that could tamper with the power state. Please try logging into 'Ubuntu on Wayland' to see if the problem happens there. And another idea: Check that you don't have 'tlp' installed. It causes random power management bugs. Assuming the issue is not tlp, please also report it upstream at: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues If you are feeling adventurous then it might help to figure out the exact time of day the display is waking. Like with a timelapse video next to a clock that's synchronized to the machine's clock. That could then be compared to the system log or might spark other ideas. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1882462 Title: Displays wake up pre-maturely (likely driven by notification) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1882462/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Given that tpm_tis showed problems already in the in v4.15, it would clue that tpm_tis driver should not include IFX0102. Looking at Author: Kylene Jo Hall Date: Sat Apr 22 02:39:52 2006 -0700 [PATCH] tpm: add HID module parameter I recently found that not all BIOS manufacturers are using the specified generic PNP id in their TPM ACPI table entry. I have added the vendor specific IDs that I know about and added a module parameter that a user can specify another HID to the probe list if their device isn't being found by the default list. Signed-off-by: Kylene Hall Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds and % git --no-pager grep ATM1200 drivers/char/tpm drivers/char/tpm/tpm_tis.c: {"ATM1200", 0}, /* Atmel */ % git --no-pager grep BCM0101 drivers/char/tpm drivers/char/tpm/tpm_tis.c: {"BCM0101", 0}, /* Broadcom */ % git --no-pager grep NSC1200 drivers/char/tpm drivers/char/tpm/tpm_tis.c: {"NSC1200", 0}, /* National */ It looks like that that the author was not aware that tpm_infineon.c already was implemented for IFX0102. The errors come from non-TCG compatible TPM implemenation tried to be used with the TCG TIS driver. I'm not sure (yet) if this a full resolution of this bug but it is obviously something that should be first fixed before making any fast conclusions on further actions. If the issue still persists after fixing this, then it is easier to debug because the bug scoped down to the tpm_infineon driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848771 Title: Reboot after resume from suspend (deep) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1848771/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
