[Bug 933381] Re: Simple but critical failure - with patch

2020-06-26 Thread Woodrow Shen
It should be fixed by upstream 1.4.7, so I'd like to set it to invalid.

Also the same case here. Probably we'd like to collect the information
to report upstream first to see if the maintainer can gain some insight.

[Bug 1879949] Re: NVIDIA GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070] [10de:1b81] Subsystem [19da:1445] Can not log in: Failed to acquire modesetting permission

2020-06-26 Thread Janne Heikkinen
It was suggested in one of the replies here:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1229933/login-freeze-after-update-
to-20-04/1253842#1253842

That installing 5.6 kernel might work. I tried the suggested 5.6.0-1008-oem
kernel, but
it still required the "nvidia_drm.modeset=1" parameter, without the parameter I
got the
freeze just like with 5.4 kernel.

[Bug 1865037] Re: make the service fail gracefully if unable to load modules

2020-06-26 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
CURRENT STATUS

Targets:

- I: ceph-iscsi

- II: targetcli-fb

Summary for the current state:

I: ceph-iscsi
[-] MIR ack (if everything else is)

I/II: python-configshell-fb
[.] MIR ack
[.] Security ack - needs DEP8 inclusion

Suggesting:
-
https://salsa.debian.org/linux-blocks-team/python-configshell-fb/-/merge_requests/3/

II: targetcli-fb
[.] MIR ack - needs DEP8 and services/sockets fix
[.] Security nack->ack - 2 upstream fixes done

Suggesting:

I/II: python-rtslib-fb
[.] MIR ack - needs packaging/lintian fixes
[.] Security ack - upstream fix done

- Upstream version v2.1.73 incudes the security fix.

Suggesting:

https://salsa.debian.org/openstack-team/python/python-rtslib-fb/-/merge_requests/2

https://salsa.debian.org/openstack-team/python/python-rtslib-fb/-/merge_requests/3

- Might not need fix for LP: #1865037 (put a comment, waiting Debian)
- Highlighted @jamespage in both MR in salsa (hopefully he can help)

I: tcmu
[.] MIR ack
[+] Security ack - but needs dbus fix

I: urwid
[.] MIR ack
[.] Security: ack

Only thing missing: tcmu fix and wait changes to be accepted so we can

[Bug 1865037] Re: make the service fail gracefully if unable to load modules

2020-06-26 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
I have suggest medium sized changes to the package with its latest
upstream version update:

Suggesting:

https://salsa.debian.org/openstack-team/python/python-rtslib-fb/-/merge_requests/2

https://salsa.debian.org/openstack-team/python/python-rtslib-fb/-/merge_requests/3

And service is disabled by default... together with the suggestion for
targetcli:

Suggesting:

Let's see what upstream (Debian) says about those)

[Bug 1885346] [NEW] gnome-shell-calendar-server leaks GBs of memory every few days

2020-06-26 Thread Heewa Barfchin
Public bug reported:

It's been happening repeatedly over the last maybe week? I have to
manually kill it about once a day, when I start to feel everything slow
down as the OS starts to swap.

Actually, I tracked down and fixed a few leaks in the code, and it looks
stable so far. I'll submit a patch soon, as well as send the fix
upstream to Gnome.

[Bug 1824874] Re: undismissable, unclickable authentication dialog left on screen (top-left corner) after policykit authentication [pushModal: invocation of begin_modal failed]

2020-06-26 Thread LittleWhole
Encountered this problem two times in 20.04 LTS. Both times were after I
moved away from my computer to go eat, and came back to see this bug.

Tried "Alt+F2" and typed "r", dialog disappeared.

[Bug 1885341] Re: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

2020-06-26 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1885341/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1820288] Re: Tomcat Web Application Manager does not copy context configuration

2020-06-26 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for all the debugging Christian! Very useful :)

I also did some investigation and this behavior is expected by the
Debian maintainers. According to the maintainers the current
implementation does not support using copyXML=true, because in this case
when the app is deployed the context file in APP/META-INF/context.xml is
copied into /etc/tomcat8/Catalina/localhost. The Debian maintainers
believe the copyXML=true option is not that useful and they would accept
a good use case to justify making /etc/tomcat8/Catalina/localhost
writable by tomcat. They also acknowledged that tomcat should not create
files in /etc during runtime, so they changed the way it works in
tomcat9.

The use case Arnaud presented in the bug description was very well
defined and it is reproducible (thanks!). However, there is a simple
workaround for this in Bionic if you do not use the admin web interface
to deploy it. You can edit the hello.xml file in the root of the
attached zip file and leave it like this:

Note I added docBase="/tmp/hello.war" in the Context tag. After that you
copy it to /etc/tomcat8/Catalina/localhost/ and restart tomcat. Then you
can access https://IP_ADDRESS:8080/hello/hello and see "Everything is
ok".

Feel free to engage with the Debian maintainers on this discussion. If
you come up with a solution we can discuss about a SRU.

[Bug 1874075] Re: rabbitmq-server startup timeouts differ between SysV and systemd

I agree with your assessment regarding Focal and Groovy. However, I
would like to verify this thesis for Bionic and Xenial to make sure
that rabbitmq-server and systemd behave that way there as well. Note
that the systemd service file on Bionic has an ExecStartPost calling a
wrapper script in addtion to the ExecStart which wouldn't be necessary
if the rabbitmq-server behaved the same way it does in Focal and
Groovy. In addition I am uncertain why the service doesn't use
`Type=notify` as in the later versions. Rabbitmq-server-3.6.10
understands what `sd_notify` is and I would have thought that this
implies that we should be able to use `Type=notify` on Bionic.
